As you probably noticed xda is pretty big and pretty busy, so it can be difficult to find stuff. For example there is already an intro thread here:

Hey everybody, latest new chick here. My name Is LilaWiya. Joined to be more familiar with rooting. Before joining, XDA has always been a site that I trust to have accurate information when it came to any question I had about my phones/tablets. So I took it one step further and joined. Don't know what else to say so I'm going to end it here Have a great day people
