Hi all..
Just wanted to check if I can Odin reset using USB-C to USB-C cable. Has anyone tried it? The cable is the official one that came with the charger.

I've been using Odin like this since last November with no issues. I'm using a Anker USB c to c I got off Amazon. I looked for 60W cables.

yeah i was in the same boat. i bought an aftermarket usb cable. and the cable wouldn't charge or allow me to mount my sd card on PC from Phone. But it works on Nokia C3-01 phone just fine.
I'd stay away from those cables and just buy the genuine HTC cable, atleast they are reliable.
if you want a more cables just look on ebay you can find them cheap, i buy mine for AU$3
I bought cable for Samsung captivate, it`s work fine with pc & car charger. Before Samsung cable i bought cable "prolife" and couldnt charge phone with that.
I've bought this cable: http://dx.com/p/designer-s-flexible-usb-charging-data-cable-for-htc-174cm-length-73860
Works terrible.
I get slow downloads and slow uploads.

Not surprising. The cable is flat, so the pairs aren't twisted, basically clobbering the noise immunity.

Couldn't not be because the shield is not solder in both ends?
By the way, thanks for the insight.
Same problem. I tried with a nokia micro usb cable and it doesn't work! The usb cable of my kindle instead works fine

But the original HTC cable is also flat: http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=196200&phone=196001
I'm reading at Amazon for a guy that reviewed the cable as only working for charging... but in the product description says that should work for data:
http://www.amazon.ca/OEM-HTC-micro-...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1343129060&sr=1-24
There must be a different issue here

the htc cable appears to be slightly thicker, which should give them room for the twisting.
I've find out that the problem only happends when I connect the cable to the monitor (external Dell monitor) and does not happend when I plug the cable directly to the desktop (the front USB port).
I must add the Samsung OEM cable is 95 cm and the "HTC" is 174 cm.
So I think is a matter of noise and cable length.
So what are you guys doing about the move to type c? I haven't found any adapters to convert the microusb end into type c... Do they not exist? I have about 10 cables, battery backups, all based on the old type

Yes but he wants an adapter to use all his current cables and not have to buy new ones.

Those threads also talk about adapters.. We don't need a dozen different threads about cables and adapters.
Heyy guys. Can anyone suggest some good USB type C cables (3rd Party) which supports Fast Charging for our Note 8?
Do include those which comply with USB Type-C standards/ are compliant cables and are USB IF Certified.
Also please tell me how much maximum current does our Note 8 supports with Adaptive Fast Charge (QC 2.0).
You will not find anything that charges your phone faster compared to the cable and charger that comes with your phone.
I'm using a USB 3.1 Type C (Gen 2) cable together with the Anker PowerCore Speed 10000 QC which is a QC 3.0 charger and it doesn't charge any faster compared to the cable and charger that comes with phone. Both take about 1:30 to charge the phone from 20% to 100% while having the screen turned off.

By exact search term if u mean "USB Type C Gen 2 Cable" then I have already tried that but did not get any fruitful result. That's why I asked you to tell me about it.
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01L...ker+type+c&dpPl=1&dpID=511f-4aaDiL&ref=plSrch and its one of the best cables out there. You can tow your car also [emoji13]

OK. This isn't funny any more :'(
Take look at this cable which is gen2 and USB IF certified USB Type-C to USB-A Male 3.1 Gen2 Cable - 3 Feet (0.9 Meters) - Black.
I have Trilink braided USB-C 3.1 cables, they work perfect and my phone charges the same as with the OEM cable that it comes with.

I have these also and seem to do it for me. I know on the V20 you needed to make sure it had the 56k ohm resistor. Does this hold true for f2f he note 8 as well? I know some usb c cables don't have it

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro so I only have USB C ports, is there a way I can use USB-C to USB-C cable with Odin? My USB-C to USB-A Cable broke so I cannot use it with my adapter. I have tried googling all this but nobody seems to have this problem.

i cant see why it wouldnt work, Odin only really looks for a Com port. usb-c to usb-c cables are pretty cheap at computer parts stores. i was just at one of my local places and it had them for about $6. worth the gamble IMO, just remember social distancing (imagine someone reading this in a few years and wondering why im saying to remember social distancing)
Does anyone know if there is a usb c or micro usb connected charger available?

I had to try to connect the charger to my phone using a standard female USB-A to USB-C adapter and it worked perfectly.
So to answer your question, "There is, sort of, just buy the adapter you need and use that [emoji846]"

Looking for something I can use with longer existing cable. Don't understand why they supplied charger with attached cable. My S3 Frontier charger has socket.

I think that I read somewhere that the reason there is no plug supplied with the charger is that "most people have lots of chargers already". But also I guess it is a way for us to hand over even more money.
I have not tested this fully but I bought a new, third party, charging cradle for my Gear S2 watch and I would guess that stand should be able to charge the watch 3 also as it is a bit bigger than the original Gear S2 cradle.
Tho I have not really looked into the specs either the S2 cradle or the Watch 3 charge pad.
