From China firmware to international without unlocking the bootloader

Hello guys!
I just got my Mi 5 today and it's gorgeous, but unfortunately it came with the version of miui made for china which, in my case has some annoying blotware (2 additional file managers, some privacy stuff, battery saver and things like these).
All i want to know is if i can flash the international version of stable/beta firmware over the current firmware without having any issues and without unlocking the bootloader(because it's a painfull process).
I've read some things about flashing a stock rom on locked bootloader but all the guys that posted about this had different results: some of them could just flash the stock rom from the updater app and worked, some needed the mi app for pc in order to flash, and for some none of these methods worked.
So, if u can tell me how to flash the international version of the miui without unlocking the bootloader, i would be very thankful.

I am also looking to change from china rom to official global.

Me too! With the Updater in factory 7.2.6.0 Stable i get "Unfortunately, Updater stopped" with all the availlable ROMs I found.

i dont think you can do that.you have to unlock your bootloader.i dont understand why you so scare to unlock your bootloader.just like you unlock you can lock it back.

I am not scared ... I dont have so much time to wait for this f*** permission! Atleast they should deliver an installable global ROM with more languages than Chinese and English!!!

i have done flash from chinese rom to global stable rom.. without unlock BL, without prob.. use miflash..

It took me 2 days to get the permission in Germany. But i think you can change it to miui Europe without BL unlock using mi flash. Check the mi forum.

You can flash official ROMs with a locked bootloader via EDL mode. (I would post a link but just signed up so I cant )

got info that you need a special cable to enable edl on the mi5 :/ can't confirm since mine hasn't been delivered yet..

i want to purchase the chinese version of mi 8 and i wanted to know if it is possible by now to flash the global rom (official of couse) without unlocking the bootloader?

Sorry It´s not possible:
With locked bootloader it´s just: chinese phone -> chinese ROM
if you unlock and install global, you must keep it unlocked or it won´t boot (soft brick).

Hello, I am new in the xda community and I have an old device that I wanna install a custom rom called LineageOS.
Due to my problem, I am stuck right now for a few days searching for an answer :crying:. My only problem right now is unlocking my own bootloader since I didn't see any forum or any websites that teaches how to unlock my bootloader since installing a custom rom requires a custom recovery.
Please help me so I can install the custom rom that I chosen.

Need help k20 pro re-unlock

Hi everyone,
My friend had a rooted phone (K20 Pro) but after he removed some files via twrp the phone was stuck on the bootlooder.I've tried to fix it so I found one chinese tgz file which was only worked.Hes phone works with chinese rom now but we can't root it anymore coz the phone locked and even I try all versions of mi unlock it won't unlock.
Can anyone suggest me something here?

Question about rooting my Oppo find X5 pro

Hello, just first, it's not the first time I rooted a phone. But I have a question. Generally, when I rooted a phone, I installed TWRP, new rom as well (before cyanogenmode, and as well lineage os). I debloated apps as well, I used magisk... I had just one incident with one of my previous phone Mi 9T pro, he finished unusable, I think I done something very bad ... Anyway.
My question is: I would like just to root my phone, but not to install an alternative recovery or new rom. I just want to have a root with the same rom.
So I have to take any precautions first ?
Where can I found the official Color OS rom and boot.img to do the code injection with magisk?
Is it possible to just have root and unlock the OEM without problem like unusable phone ? (I just want to debloat some apps)

Do you have China phone or Europe phone...? But no matter bootloader locked by Oppo. No root

Yes impossible

I seen on internet it's possible to use an application to ask Oppo to unlock the phone . I think it's the same application to unlock a Xiaomi phone
