Fingerprint don't seem to work on latest build
Edit: Also could you remove the default Vanilla Music app and put Gcamera on this ROM, there still missing thing but twice update per month buy me

this appears to be a proper AOSP-based ROM, with a serious crew behind it. they appear to have proper sources, automated builds, device inclusion guidelines, etc. this is the first serious-looking ROM for this device and I have high hopes for it.
I'd like to try it soon, and I dearly hope that pointless **** like changing default apps, jumping vendors, etc is completely out of the question.

Flashing now...

creo la tuve en otro dispositivo hace muchos años atrás, veré que tal anda en este, veo que la actualizan como antes era en casi todas, cada semana

se queda pegado en el logo, nunca arranco

will safety net work soon? Everything else seems to be sturdy though.

Are the builds switching to monthly or stopping for device?

@Sagesaurabh Has it been fixed by SafetyNet Fix by kdrag0n in later builds since your post?
By the way it's hard to trust a ROM with a so much sleeping XDA topic (nor users, nor comments, nor bug fixing discussion, weird...)

Safetynet is not an issue for me now. But this is by far the most stable, sturdy and dependable ROM if you install by following proper instructions. And Devs including AliHasan is very active in helping with queries on telegram. Been running for 4months now.

@saurabhinabyss Thanks for this explanations. Indeed I've used CarbonROM a few years ago on my old Oppo Find 7 and it was a great experience at that time. If I remember well, I think my Oppo hardware is dead with this ROM inside so I really liked it
Carbon seems to remain the most actively developed A11 ROM here, according to the latest releases date (compared to serious A11 ROMs like Havoc-OS, ArrowOS, AEX, crDroid). I visibly need to join the Telegram group and try CarbonROM on my Redmi sweet. I'll do it soon because I'm fed up with the Google Play Services battery drain on AOSPExtended.

it seems like an abandoned project here .. while there is automated weekly builds on the website
by the way i like carbon rom and i used it on many older phones
hope to see something hppens here

Ye I'm currently using it too and it's hella smooth + insane battery backup (3 days battery w/ 12hr sot in 60hz) basically 0.1/hr idle drain. It's so lightweight too. The only bug I ever face is screen dimming seems a bit broken when turning off the display. When you open it, the brightness goes full. ANXCamera v190R and v185R are the only working anx. I wish v204 would be compatible so picture quality is almost the same as stock, if it becomes compatible then the ROM is now perfect.

It would only be compatible when ROM moves to 13.0 miui firmware, maybe with CR10

ah is v204 only for miui 13 firmware? because if I recall arrow os a11 is based on miui 12.5.x firmware and that has support for v204 anx. Carbon and Arrow has the same build trees too (I think) based on daniml3. Only difference is that arrow os a11 is OSS and carbon is miui vendor based. Still tho, looking forward for v204 to be compatible, heck even miui cam too.

Can gCam be used on this ROM?
Is the LN8000 charging board supported (fast charging)?
Thank you.

Moreover, does it support newer sweet devices with Focaltech (fts_ts) touches?

GCam? Yes, it does work. LN8000 fast charging, no. The kernel does not support it; however, you can flash a custom kernel that supports it if you want. Even though this ROM is still A11, newer kernels with LN8000 drivers still support A11.

I doubt it does, as it has the old MIUI 4.14.180 kernel, which is the same as the ones on the Xiaomi sources, which are pretty old and not updated.

Thanks for posting, I personally still use version 14.1 of crdroid.
But what is the purpose if you're not gonna debug and maintain this rom?

I personally am currently using my own build of Nougat ResurrectionRemix, which I have also shared here at XDA. I personally wanted to check if I could build a non LineageOS Oreo ROM using @kyasu LOS device tree's. ie Hopefully, in the future, when all the source code code is more stable, I will be able to build another ROM for my personal use (which I would also share).

ALL the oreo code is still VERY early days, I dont think there are even too many official devices with releases yet ie not even Alpha's. You don't need to look too far before something "pops up"

Thats one of the brilliant things of open source code. There are a team of people working on LineageOS (the basis for crDroid and ResurrectionRemix), as well as people working on crDroid and RR, as well as the work being done by @kyasu specifically for our device. Any work they do, would flow through to anyone building the ROM from source. ie "I" do not specifically need to do the debugging, hopefully. And that makes me think of another reason, maybe this build will inspire someone else to give it a go.

Each Dev has a right to include all the crap he wants. I'm not saying that DiamondJohn does but still, some roms are faster and more battery efficient then other.

Yes that's true, but since almost every custom rom is based on LOS I wouldn't expect a huge difference. Also in my experience the apps installed by the user or Google services eat up the battery, not so much the rom (of course the system consumes battery, but most of the time it's something else, if one has unusual high battery drain). I think if you really want to save energy you probably need to throttle the CPU. And Oreo isn't too great at saving battery at the moment (I am only talking about the builds available for our device of course). I hope this will get better in the future. I am using Oreo nevertheless because it's rock stabil and I like the features.
Interesting, what features are they?

I'd like to hear the answer to this question.
I dont think you should be looking at ROMs like ResurrectionRemix or crDroid if you wish to be running "light", and I would also go for PICO GApps (which is what I run).

As this was a build straight from the source (I only changed one line to make it permissive), its the decision of the devs at the crDroid Team, not me.
By the way, whenever I have looked at the changes made in crDroid, the non-device specific code changes has always been by a single dev. I am sure its a group that decides on bigger things, like what to include, just interesting that shared (between devices) code almost seems to be maintained by a single guy.

I am running Nougat ResurrectionRemix, and to limit my battery drain, I have Greenify running VERY aggressively. I also have the CPU at standard max, but a conservative governor; Tripndroid, which doesn't seem to lag for my usage, but likes the lower frequencies.

I am guessing you are running LOS. The latest build appears to have caused some "noise", which worries me as this build is based on similar code. GPS also appears to be a common issue. I tried GPS on this build and it didnt connect to any satellites (I was inside, and it was heavily overcast that day) but when I restored my daily and it didnt lock a location either (but at least connected to a few satellites). I'd be interested to know by anyone who tries this ROM if the GPS works? That's a deal breaker for me personally. The "efs" partition talk also really concerns me.
New build!
There is anew build up (see OP). This build was basically a test to see what would happen (ie would it even boot) if the SELinux was ENFORCING
Make sure you flash GApps along with the ROM before the first boot. I accidentally booted without GApps and then flashing it after caused issues.
I also tried Magisk 16.0 for root, and that appeared to work. Instead of the LineageOS add-an
I also tried flashing Viper, and that worked as soon as I switched over to permissive. I also took a log to see what permissions/SELinux statements would enable it to run enforcing.
I did appear to have issues the second time I flashed it with ADB over WiFi (it didnt pop up the request/confirmation).
I am also hoping that the GPS will be fixed soon in the LOS 15.1 builds which will hopefully flow through to crDroid:fingers-crossed:
Remember, this is unofficially an an unofficial build:silly:

Feature wise, it is NOT light; as it is very featured. Those features come from code.
To me, if you truly want light, you go with a "vanila" AOSP ROM. I am NOT talking about how they run, but their contents. On a different device (xt907) I built a number of Nougat ROMs, and AICP actually seemed noticeably "snappier" to me than crDroid or RR. A ROM not being light, does not mean it is slow.
Not that's its an accurate comparison of anything, but comparing the Oreo file sizes,
LOS 15.1 = 359MB
RR v6.0.0 = 329MB (I recently did a test build, and it booted and ran :victory
crDroid v4.0 = 385MB
also, the main build section has "steps" when compiling a ROM, below are the results from the last time I compiled each of these
LOS 15.1 = 75755
RR v6.0.0 = 76872
crDroid v4.0 = 77145
On a side note, I have another device (Nexus 5, the xt907 has died) and that has an RR Oreo ROM at around 359MB and an AOSP ROM (v8.0) at 297MB.
By the way, RR is my ROM of choice, as (I think) this device is much more than capable of handling just about any ROM we can thrown at it, at least thus far for me.:good:

Hi DiamonJohn,
I'm giving a daily test although this is not the case, but I'm even amazed by the result even with this state of the ROM.
In terms of apps, everything works, at least the ones I use daily basis that are; Facebook, Messenger, Inbox "2 email accounts", Outlook "1 email account", Google Keep, DropBox, Skype, Twitter, Youtube, etc..., bluetooth works and I'm going to test the GPS tomorrow when I go running
What I mean is that even though not being for daily use (for now) this ROM is not too far from that in my point of view, of course you still need a lot of work ahead and the battery does not last long but what does it matter at this stage since the RR roms happens the same
With spirit and with head this rom can get very good at level ★ ★ ★ crDroid ★ ★ ★ Official[7.1.2][ks01lte][V3.5][09 JUN] and by the way, it's the rom I use every day and it's great.
I was going to forget to mention, Magisk Manager, Xposed and Greenify they are installed and working properly.
For now is everything and I hope this rom go forwar, I am very interested because my GALAXY S4 LTE still has much to give :good:
And I say even that this ROM in the point that is, deserves the title that I gave

I would not expect the GPS to be working. It was built without a change from LOS that would fix it. But I tried including the code, which didn't appear to work for me, and only after realised that I had a hardware issue (my antenna wasn't connecting well physically on the device fixed now) I am now waiting (patiently) for @kyasu to update his actual device tree with the changes.
I have also built an Oreo ResurrectionRemix. I am hoping someone will test applying a substratum theme against one of these Oreo ROMs (although I haven't made public the RR one) I have built. That (and the GPS) are probably my roadblocks right now foir me to upgrade and thereby be more frequent with new builds; ie I dont know if Substratum works or not. I have tested Viper (another one of my personal deal-breaks, and that works)
GPS Works well
Surprise LOL, GPS works well with me!
I use Endomondo - Running & Walking and GPS and continued to work well, without having the 4G connected!
I installed the GPS TESTE to see how many satellites it picks up and the accuracy and it seemed to me everything normal (view image link)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kycoe6blbovs78g/Screenshot_GPS_Test_20180327-082957.png?dl=0
About the Resurrection Remix I tested (Nougat) are good, but the battery is the weak point, because until now they all drain very quickly, which can not be for me to be daily use. As I mentioned, the crdroid ★ ★ ★ ★ Official [7.1.2] [ks01lte] [V3.5] [09 JUN] the battery is very good and for now is my choice for daily use.
I want to update to the OREO and so far and I have always liked crDroid for better results this your unofficial ROM is very very good :good:
Of course I'm here to test your Oreo RR

Very good rom, but there are two problems:
- ANX Camera works just partly (Pro, Video, More). The same problem exists in PE and PalladiumOS;
- there is no possibility to add fingerprint; fingerprint sensor doesn't appear during process of adding fingerprint.
Does this rom have the latest version of the smartbar

Yes, I had the same problem with battery and ANX Camera worked just partly, as well. The rest is excellent. I hope that it will be fixed, because I like this rom.
.
ANX Camera still doesn't work on V2.0-R Stout
it has an excellent battery life, the best I've tried so far, as a camera I use PXv8.1_GCam-v1.2 which I find exceptional, I hope it becomes official. Good job

Hello, is there a way to go back to the simple icon display in the status bar?
But in general a really great ROM!
I have tested most of the newest roms and KangOS is my favourite. It's very good with really great customizations and ANX Camera works now with ANXCameraPatch. Thank you very much.

Anyone here know what?
There must be a setting option whether you want the app symbols or the "simple icons"?!
It is nice to read the positive reviews about this ROM.. also about the camera, which is very important to me too.
So I haven't tried a non-MIUI Rom on my Mi9 yet.. lately relying on xiaomi.eu - and the beta ROMs are great.
What I want to ask, should I try this ROM out, what is the case going back to MIUI ROMs with regards to Widevine? Is L1 lost?
And anything else I need to consider that is irreversible after making the jump to AOSP?
Thanks
@RealNBB
Don't flash 48MPFix. It's not needed and not recomended. The fix is included in the patch.
I haven't found an option for "simple icons", but I like default icons, so it's not big deal for me.

You can easily go back to xiaomi.eu. I jump from it to custom roms and back without any problems. Just make full backup with TWRP. Additionally make backup of persist.img just in a case. If it's destroyed you will loose L1. So, it's good to have copy of the image. You can also easily move all your apps, contacts and messages with Migrate. I use it all the time and I can recomend it.
[APP][ROOT][5.0+][1st Nov 2020] Migrate - custom ROM migration tool
Jumping from one custom ROM to another can be a challenging task. So I decided to make an app to simplify the process. Introducing Migrate! Migrate-GPE (v4.0) is on Google Play It was temporarily suspended. Read more here...

If you were on stock just flash the rom.
Sometimes people after they unlocked bootloader jumps between miui variants.
so if you switched between the miui releases then just flash the stock of your device and flash this rom after.
that's it

Fast charging is working for me. It just doesn't say fast charging. But it works. I think charging speed can't be changed just by changing the rom which is essentially the top most layer of the whole software.

I'm sometimes having crackling sound when listening to music
Turn off 'ok google now' functionality in google app settings. If you have troubles finding it you can as well go to settings>apps, find app called 'google' and disable microphone permission.
Does this rom support VoLTE?
No. And it likely won't in the near future. Samsung's exynos VoLTE implementation is proprietary and non-standard. It is not possible on AOSP based roms for the time being.
I have weird issues with camera (wrong resolution, issues with flash etc.)
Тhis could very well be an issue with the included camera app. Try a third party camera app.
Will you fix the bugs? Will this version ever go official?
I've already fixed everything I was able to. The main drawback is that our linux kernel 3.18 has become too old. Our devices starting showing their age. Because of this version will not go official.
My hardware keys light up whenever I touch the screen
Navigate to Settings->System->Buttons->Backlight and tick 'Illuminate buttons only when pressed'. You might want to reduce time on the scaler to 1 second, too.
How to switch to full screen gestures
1. Navigate to Settings->System->Buttons->Backlight and tick 'Enable on-screen nav bar'.
2. Navigate to Settings->System->Gestures->System navigation and tick 'Gesture navigation'.

Nice to see this out, great work
Great job as always.
im glad there's still hope for a little bit of support for our rusty device
i know this is pretty ridiculous at this point but i really hope this become another galaxy s2 situation where despite how old the device is.. it still get more and more versions despite its age
Yea, but the S2 is more of a tinkerers device at this point, A5 is still usuable (at least on A11, broke my screen before I could test 12 :C)
Possible update with simple TWRP install (wo delete data) from 19.1 Unofficial? (I think yes.)
Very nice rom ....smoot and stable
Which one is better LineageOS 19 or LineageOS 20? Which one is more stable for daily use? Or is just LineageOS 18 stable enough for daily use for now?

I also think yes, but no one has tested this already. Note that you would surely need to reflash the same gapps package you were using before right after the new version flash.

I can't tell this for certain. It totally depends on your usecase and preferences. There aren't any unresolved bugs coming from previous versions (other than mentioned). Some people say however that the rom runs slower than the previous versions, especially with gapps. For me personally it was still ok.

Not worse than before with lineage at least. For what it's worth, there is actually a new lineage camera app now. And we were getting some good battery life results during the testing.

What does Network traffic monitoring do? I switch off Mobile data and WIFI for many apps in the app settings. Without Network traffic monitoring, does it mean that separate app Mobile data and WIFI switching off will not work reliably? Or is it completely unrelated?

Spoiler: Using Lineage recovery
1. Recommended Samsung firmware version is A705FNXXU5DVK6, but it will work on slightly older versions too.Make sure that the bootloader is unlocked.--
2. Boot the phone into download mode. Flash Lineage recovery through AP button in Odin.Download here. Note: Use TWRP at your own risk! It does not properly support new A13 roms with the latest changes.
Use Lineage recovery for the best experience, otherwise don't complain if your phone bootloops.
--
3. Boot into recovery (Vol+ and Power while USB is plugged into PC) Note: Samsung's OneUI wipes the custom recovery partition and possibly vbmeta while booting so try not to reboot into Android.
--
4. Format data and system in the recovery--
5. Flash the rom in "Apply update" menu. There are 2 ways to install:
On the phone: Copy the zip to a FAT32-formatted microSD card and install it in recovery.
With a PC: Use Minimal ADB on Windows. Open "cmd-here" and type
Code:
adb sideload <rom-file>
where <rom-file> is the filename (drag-and-drop the zip file into cmd window).
--
6. (Optional) Flash add-ons such as Google apps or Magisk in the same way that you flashed the rom.We now have a working ramdisk so newest Magisk works fine ^^
--
7. Reboot and enjoy

all good on the a70 (sm-a705mn) for now

Great work as always, thanks a lot
New update is now available, with Screen off FOD fixed (make sure you enable it in settings). You might also find that Always on display is turned on by default, it can be turned off with a quick settings tile. You also can update through settings app on the phone.
For OTA updates I recommend Lineage recovery and, if you need root, Lygisk. Don't report bugs with updates if you use Magisk.

Don't expect VoLTE on _any_ rom for a samsung phone, there is no implementation in AOSP. Official devices lack it too. No developer has bothered to do volte so far (and probably won't unless there's a good reason). Other than that, we're pretty much as bugless as we can get currently.

Apart from that, only thing you could do is use OneUI mods.. volte might happen one day if someone takes the time to reverse engineer it but so far we're out of luck. This is a problem on every samsung device on AOSP, and with other makes, YMMV.

It modded with magisk and safety net pass. Debloated and such. I really like los though.
Personally I'd say los is a great experience as long as 3G calls are not a problem, I use it on my daily phone which has no volte either, but at least is maintained officially
(Also in many countries 3G is shut down before 2G so I'm pretty sure 2G can still be used in those)
How to make dual sim work?
Works out of the box if you haven't messed with the efs partition and did a clean flash. You can also try 19.1 just in case.
vendor needs to update
Why? Even the security patch wasn't bumped. It's not so urgent, it was literally released today.

Use the lineage kernel, it's most stable and has good performance too. Older "mod" kernels will not work with android 13
My phone can't detect sim 2 on OTA builds but in the older builds it does. A705MN/DS.
