[Q] Syncing calendar with facebook events, but times of events are wrong

The dates from facebook that go into my calender are showing up in my calender a few hours off. Ive tried other calendars, and it doesnt seem to help. Right now im using Pure Calender. An event on facebook that starts at 4pm is showing up on my device as 9am. Anyone know whats going on? Ive already tried messing with the timezone on my computer and facebook.
It's a timezone problem with Facebook. The only solution I've found is directly importing my FB events to google calender and just getting them from there.
How do you import the facebook events into google? I think I need to mention that the times only show up incorrect when they are on a widget calender that I have placed on my home screen. The actual calender itself shows them correctly, just the widgets ive used show them hours off.
I have this issue when syncing the TouchWiz calendar with Google calendar. My times is off by one hour, so I checked the timezone settings on both the phone and google's, but none of them were the issue. I still haven't found a solution.
I also replaced the Touchwiz calendar with the stock android calendar, but I still have the same issue.
Any other ideas?
I have same issue on my HTC Desire (2.2). Would be cool if Facebook added time-zone functionality for their events, or if someone made it possible to chose an off-set on your device for Facebook events before importing them into calendar.
You can export Facebook events and/or birthdays and import them into Google calendar with FB application called Fdcal (it has time-zone option). Application is not working flawlessly, I got my events to show into Google calendar, but couldn't export birthdays for some reason.
But this will not solve your issues, because there was no way I could get those events to show on my phone. In Gemini calendar you get an option to check on those additional calendar subscribed on your Google one, but they don't show in my phone either for some reason.
The only workaround I found so far is that once those event show in Google calendar, you can easily duplicate them (save them as Google calendar entries), and those will show once the sync kicks in.
I'm waiting for someone to come up with easier solution

i'm having the same issue, the event is 8 hrs late when it appear in my SGS calendar
Has anyone already solved this problem?
I'm having the same issue with my SGS and the XXJPO firmware.
Well I haven't done anything, but problem IS solved on my HTC Desire for quite some time now. Can't say exactly when it was fixed (or if it was fixed by HTC or Facebook), but event times in my stock calendar that is synced with Facebook are now ok.
On my Touchwiz-Calendar it's working fine, too.
Just in every calendar widget I tried so far, the facebook events are shifted by one hour.
So I am in the time zone GMT+1 but the event gets displayed like I would be in GMT+0.
As a workaround I switched the time zone in my phone to GMT+0, so now the times for the fb-events are correct, but this is causing other problems now.

Calendar sync issues

Hi I just received my galaxy, so possible a NOOB problem.
The problem is that I have a google calendar, and on my phone it sees both the appointments I have done on the phone and the google appointments - so this is fine.
If I make a appointment via a computer at the net on the google calendar, then it will show up on the phone calendar - this is fine.
BUT if I make an appointment on the phone - it will not show up on the google calendar on the net.
It seems like the phone uses "My Calendar" which is not synced with the google calendar - so have I missed a setting somewhere?
Thanks
When you did the calender mark did you choose google calender and not the phone calender?? take a close look so u have choose that before apply the appointment/mark in the cal. when you set the day/clock under that you can choose what calender to use....I missed that too...
Ok thanks - found the setting.
Is it possible to change the behaviour, so that when you make an appointment on the phone it is by default using the google calendar and not the phone calendar?
I dont think you can set it as default..not sure. With some app maybe? I just have my Galaxy for 4 days so everything is new
Thanks, compared to me you are very experienced (had mine for 1 day)
I would also be interested in a way to change the default.
Additionally I'd like to have the automatically created birthday events appear in one of my Google calendars, not in the phone calendar. Has anybody an idea on how to do that?
It says "with Google" on the phone, if I'm selling my soul to Google, at least I'd like to do it completely and thoroughly.
I'm syncing with my Yahoo Calendars, my 2 Gmail account Calendars
also contact from those 3 accounts too, and IM from MSN, google, yahoo, tweeter, facebook
this phone is Amazing! at keeping everything in sync
just make sure on the account page your accounts are all with the Green sync circle

[Q] calender issue

when i press "new" in calender it always makes in "my calender" and I want it in "gmail" calender. because thats the one who sync. I want it to be that by default. how can I make gmail calender default? I cant find it in settings.
you cant.
annoying i know, took me a few days to figure out why my calendar wasnt syncing online
there might be another calendar app that does this, i have no idea why the default android calendar made by google doesnt sync with google, crazy.
Yeah , my tought too. crazy. I guess with a pure android os it will be like that. how is it on desire?
Hi all,
I to was suffering from this problem and it was driving me nuts and then i discovered if you go into settings in the Calender you will see
All Calenders
My Calender
your name @googlemail.com or gmail.com
Weather
Untick the All Calenders and My Calender and just have a tick by your Google address Calender and that's it done in settings you can also untick the Weather if you don't want that showing in your Calender either.
Unfortunately that's not quite the solution i was hoping for as although it now only shows the Google Calender you need to remember each time you are making an entry to change the Calender from My Calender to your Google Calender which really isn't that bad or hard just a couple of extra ticks is all.
After this you will only have your Google Calender showing on your Galaxy and it will all sync fine with Google Calender, hope that solves the problem for you.

Multiple notifications from calendar

Hi!
I don't know why but I am using acalendar and taken away notifications from Google calendar & (htc) calendar. Still I am getting multiple notifications when appointment happens.
I really don't know what to do. I have checked multiple times that my notification ticck is disabled from Google Kalender and HTC Calendar.
