I'm planning on buying either Galaxy S or Nexus S, the only thing that's stopping me from buying Galaxy S is that I dont know if android 2.3 is availible on Galaxy S or not, please tell me if it's possible to have android 2.3 on Galaxy S. Also I want to know if any of you are having problems with the phone and how it is, post your feedback of the phone here.
Well you can start reading some of the treads and you will get all answers you want.

Kiyori could be please specify your source.........the upgrade still seems a little hazy.
Further, I read that the galaxy s has been discontinued in india..............so why is this confusion still existing in your mind. You might not find the phone in the market.
And to your bad luck, neither is the Nexus S seeming to launch in India immediately. Google isn't a company which keeps india in its priority list...........so we could not see the nexus S launch in next 4-6 months for sure. Maybe we might see the romoured Galaxy S2 before that if samsung goes in for one more 100+ countries simultaneously launch as it did for the Galaxy S. ;-)

I enquired from the sales department of samsung, I dont know how much of this is true, but they said that there is a shortage of Super Amoled screens so they had to stop supply of Galaxy S in India, it should be back by january end, and apparently the Nexus S is to be launched by feburary mid.
I read in a forum that Samsung have stated that there will not be a 2.3.3 Update available for the Galaxy Tab P1010 (wifi only).
I do not know if that is true, the guys from the original thread have been given the same BS answers or a negative one from The Samsung Support from various locations.
Do any of you guys have any idea or have heard anything about this issue?
Thanks.
P.S. I am never buyng Samsung again.
Well the Wifi version is an inferior version of its 3G cousin dues to its lesser CPU/GPU. They are probably trying to get the update to work with those different parts.

I guess that most of the P1010 users are familiar with that, but i do not think that is enough for Samsung to spare us this major upgrade.
It SHOULD not be. I agree with you.
I also posted over at the Galaxy Tab Forums for you as well.
Let us hope that Samsung sees the errors of its ways.
this news sucks
i bought the gt p1010 cause it is ideal for when it comes to school stuff
this news really saddens me
Samsungs latest move was to bring Jellybean to a range of devices, obviously high end ones like the Note and S2, but also the low end like the Galaxy Ace Plus, which when I last checked was worse in every way compared to my Galaxy S which still runs 2.3.6.
Samsung should have given us ICS, they should now try and get jellybean working
What do you think? Do you agree?
Yeah, sure it would be nice.. but our device is hella old so ofcourse they want ppl to buy new devices=$$$
But were lucky to have so many devs doing an amazing job by an ongoing work of making roms for this old device
Hi all,
I have a one year old Galaxy S5830 I purchased in China. I purchased it mainly for my travels so I can use different local SIMs whenever I travel to a different country. So far it is brilliant. But it is getting slow whenever I try to install new updates for apps. There's also junk Chinese sw that came with the original phone I can't seem to get rid of. I use this phone mainly because my Verizon S3 is not jail broken (<-right saying?).
I'd like to rebuild my S5830 with the latest Android but not sure if jelly bean would be a working version for it. Is that a good idea? Or should I just leave it as it is? I thought I'd experiment a bit on my S5830 before I try to root the S3.
Hope the community can give me some great suggestions.
Thank you,
Jane
You can always try cm7 roms, there are plenty of them all over the forums, and they are the only ones which are more or less as stable as a gb rom.
There is no "Jail" forced by Google to break from (android is open source ).
You "root" your device (jailbreak = root, jailbroken = rooted), to allow apps to access system files. Nothing more, nothing less.
Hi,
I own a Galaxy N 7000 purchased 3 years ago. I installed Jelly Bean with your help. The phone gives me satisfaction during one year, but in France where I live 3 month/year,I lost the signal few times, so I worked with a Xiaomi Redmi Note...
Now,I'm in Canada and want give the N7000 to my girlfriend because she owns a old Samsung Galaxy Fascinate.
But before give it to her, I think it is better to give the phone with the best 'features', so I need suggestion(s) to drive me to the best operation system ( ROM ect).
I'm not exactly a newbe but far, far away to a specialist . If you said to me where I must go to download the stock,I,ll try to install it for sure and I'm not afraid asking for help. I know the guys here helps kindly the mens who ask for advice in a civilised way...
:fingers-crossed:
Thank's a lot.
