Question Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro delayed notifications after Enhanced update - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hey guys, as the title says...I have a Mi 11 Pro, CN version. All fine until the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced update yesterday. Notifications only go through when I unlock the phone, like it used to be on some Huawei phones some time ago. No matter what battery saving change I make, no restrictions, etc, it is the same. If I dont unlock the phone for 30 minutes, I dont get any notification: no Wtp, no Gmail, no FB messenger. Only when I unlock, or at least turn on the screen. Very disappointed... Any idea?

The update has battery saving features in oder to save on battery. that means it shuts down many apps that run in the background. You need to turn off the battery optimizations features and give your apps permission to run in the background.

i have this problem too after the udated... my whatsapp notfication has been delayed.
even in whatsapp desktop.. keep showing the yellow banner.. saying phone has DC etc.

China rom wasn't designed to work with Gmail or any other Google services. You can always expect there to be problems with the China rom and western software working together.

Yes it wasnt ,but on the otherr hand , the core is there, unlike Huawei. Everything works on it actually, except for android auto. And again actually ), the second time worked and notifications go through after disabling the battery restrictions.

Hey man, it is classic: I long press the app, then choose App Info, Battery Saver and choose No restrictions. No other action. But I have to tell you: it worked last evening, now in the morning the email again did not come through. Did not get any Wtp messages yet to verify that too. It is starting to annoy me and will most probably go for an oppo or smth instead.

Notification problem

Hi.
I just noticed that when I received a WhatsApp message I get no notification. Same when someone calls me on WhatsApp. The notification only shows up when I open WhatsApp.
Something that it's probably related, accubatery doesn't provide any stats, everytime I open it it's like I start it for the first time.
I'm pretty sure there is some hidden task killer that doesn't allow most of the apps to do background stuff.
Any idea?
PS: I removed WhatsApp and Accubatery from batery optimization, reinstalled both apps, same thing.
Thanks
LE: In case someone runs into this, disable "deep process clean" feature under settings/system/advanced. It should sort it out.
Same problems
I have the same problems but I can't solve.
Any ideas?

You may need to ditch that rom for global.

Have you tried using the search function in Settings? The deep system clean option may be somewhere else in settings..
I have not found the search option in the configuration. I have searched every corner and I have not found the Deep process clean

I don't think it's possible that the CN rom would have a glaring fault like this - "Deep Process Clean" enabled but not having an option to disable it.
The whole moniker is pretty clearly a badly translated Chinese version of the concept.
Perhaps, two different people translated it from Chinese to English in the two roms.
Here's a suggestion:
1) Process could be "task", "program", "app."
2) Clean could be "kill", "end", "terminate."
3) Deep could be "Old", "late", "unused."
An actual native speaker of Chinese would probably knock it out of the park on first attempt. Still, I think it's worth a try.

It seems to have disappeared from settings... Do you have notification problems?
Right after the update to NA 1.18, there were no problems - the Deep Process Clean setting disappeared, but notifications were coming in fine.
That was months ago. Now, I just tested Gmail, and it won't receive emails until the phone is turned on.
We need a solution to this. Quickly.

Apparently, a lot of issues were fixed with RM3S. But not with RM3.
No, I don't have RM3S and never did I even imply that I did, bro. I will imply publicly, right now, that I have RM3. You are free to sue me, I have my lawyers standing by. Some have pitchforks. Careful.

Hi, sorry to bother you, but is there going to be an update to NA or Global RM3 rom soon?
The problem is that the "Deep Process Clean" option disappeared from settings, and now the phone won't get notifications until it is turned on. The notifications were fine immediately after 1.18 update, but now, 1.5 months later, Gmail won't work until the phone is turned on. Some other people have also noticed this behavior.
If there's an update coming up, could you ask the engineers to put the "Deep Process Clean" option back please?
Thanks.

Version 1.18 removed the deep process clean feature due to some bugs, it will kill the apps and preventing them to run in background. You can do a factory reset and see if you can get the notification.

I am not sure what to make of it.
1) The option was removed, but clearly, the code is still there that kills the background apps.
2) He suggested that I do a factory reset, because I may "see if you can get the notification." I would hate to the reset the phone and find out it still kills apps.
3) I wonder if there's any way to clear cache or data from some app/system app to make this work.
Any ideas?

Question Issues after Enhanced update

tried it but didnt help
Then try to set app autostart for the apps you need prompt notifications, also you can check in the option for notification priority and set that to "notification". If that doesn't help you might need to activate developer option and search for notification priority and deactivate or activate what's set. See if that help
Already did all of those. MIUI is just killing those apps and I don't get notifications. Not a notification bug. Background apps issue...
For example Messenger have same settings and everything is ok!
Honestly I can't do much more, I have no idea then, sorry about that
I am also on CN Enhanced firmware and found the same issue with WhatsApp and Gmail only. I finally managed to fix it by doing this - Battery, Settings, Scenarios, Sleep Mode OFF. Mine was toggled on. Otherwise try the notification priority for Whatsapp, Gmail and all Google applications including system ones, set to important. Something to do with apps running through Google services on CN version I suspect. Hope this works for you. I had the same problem with Mi 10 Pro once updating to MIUI 12.5. The most irritating problem ever.
I would suggest you go to the App Battery Saver option and exclude them from the app battery saver option.
That might work.
CN options on most phones kill all notifications except Chinese apps. That's why I don't really use the Chinese market Android OS.

Anyone using the Chinese ROM outside china needs their head examined imo....
Endless complaints of stuff not working for months now....
Out of curiosity, what are the advantages of using the CN OS rather than the EU OS?

The Chines rom is not usable for most in the west, due to its quirks and lack of Google services. It's really a simple fix, it's called unloack the bootloader and flash another rom. I don't understand what everyone is whining about, after all, it's not rocket science.

Not the OS only. CN Rom get regular updates, although as i read it improves some thing and breaks others. But apart from that right now you can get the chinese 12/256 variant for 950$ roughly. In the UK the price is 1199 pounds - around 1630$. That's a big difference.

It is always possible with a Xiaomi device to unlock your bootloader and flash an alternative rom, such the Xiaomi.eu rom, which has all the upgraded features of the China rom, combined with Google services that is in the global rom.
same... WA notification delayed..
now i just off the miui optimisation... i shall see.
ok... WA still DC when using WA WEB... so problem still remains. so i guess no fix for this.
any news for this problem?

Question Did anyone find a solution against the agressive background killing of apps?

Apps will automatically close within 10-20 seconds after I leave the app through the home gesture. It drives me crazy that literally no app will stay open in my recents. I tried locking the apps in the recents, it did not help. (What's the sense of locking apps there then?!)
Anyone has a solution/workaround?
Just select to not optimize that app in battery settings....
I'm on OOS 13 Open Beta 2 build and haven't encountered this issue at all. Apps stay in background for hours honestly.
Maybe check Battery Optimization for each of those apps and permit Background Activity?

I did that but it doesn't help. Apps stay in recent when I leave them but if I open it again seconds later, I'm greeted with the splash screen and for example Chrome reloads the website.

Weird doesn't happen to me at all. I just checked, and I am even in battery saver mode. Programs stay in RAM as expected, and load immediately in the state/position they are in. Android 12 A.15, rooted, tons of debloat via adb disable. I also even run Malwarebytes with realtime stuff and scanning enabled.

I'm sure it does, try opening one app, copy from one, switch to another and paste, continue doing that. Eventually it'll lose your position.
Apps remain in recents yes but the absolute state is not kept.

Thats so weird because they won't stay open in the background for like most of us. 10 seconds after I minimize an app like Gmail, then reopen it, I will be greeted with the Spash Screen of Gmail which takes like 1-2 seconds.
Chrome is even more annoying, since the website I was on 10 seconds ago, will have to reload.
It's stupidly annoying and I tried everything to get it fixed. With this behavior of RAM, that Apps close withing literaly seconds, 2 GB RAM could have also made the deal

It has AoD support.
Though it's not as feature rich as I would like.
AOE needs to read messages so that it can see that there are messages.
I think that android ( at least miui ) blocks apps from seeing that there are messages even if they have permission to see notifications.

No, only 10 seconds can't be called an AoD.
They should call it a 10 second on display or something like that. Everything except Always On because it isn't always on.
It's also totally useless because instead of a single tap to view the "AoD" you might as well doubletap and view your lockscreen.

The issue seems to be there for years, Note 9 and 10 were also restricted for 10 seconds.
I guess Xiaomi wants you to buy the Pro model which has true AoD.
I send them an email and their response is that they don't offer full AoD because it drains the battery. They want you to enjoy full battery life they said.

Question Help - AOD Notification Effect and Icons are not working

Hi everyone,
recently I bought this device (Xiaomi 11T Pro) and right now I'm using the 13.0.16 Stable.
As you can see from my screenshot, my AOD is on, the animation effect is set up and the notifications are enabled.
But, no matter what, my AOD always shows the clock and the battery.
If/when I get a notification, I have no effect/animation and icons (I have tried many notification apps, like Gmail, Whatsapp, etc).
I searched a lot on Google, but it seems no one mentioned this problem, so I'm guessing it's not a bug, but just me with some weird options.
Any idea or suggestion to figure it out?
Thank you so much.
