Thanks for keeping my old note7 updated!
I'm getting "Error installing zip file" in OrangeFox
I have been testing it for the past 2 weeks, mainly on performance. Overral great ROM, it's very fluid, animations are snappy and responsiveness is on point, i can't judge battery life since i burned already 1/4 of total capacity on my phone.
One suggestion however would be to change the default screenshot behavior to the classic one rather than the partial one ( seriously this confused me so much until i figured out how to change it from the Pixel den ).
Another one would be to add double tap to wake feature ( i'm not sure that it's available, if it is i couldn't find it ).
Great job overall, most stable Pixel ROM so far.
EDIT : Double tap to wake is present on Display settings, i just didn't see it at first. Perfect ROM indeed.
Hi, i have same issue on miui12.5.
Note 7 + bluetooth audio issues
So, recently i bought the redmi airdots and they worked alright for a day or two, but as of now, when they are inside my pocket, they randomly (seem to only happen on part of the trajectory from my home to work) start failing, skipping like a...

Thanks for your work, some days for test.
Thank you, first impression is great. Rom is very smooth and gives a second Life to the old note 7. At the moment I'm facing only one problem: unfortunately camera is not working. When I am running camera app after first configuration and giving permissions, it shows a message "cannot connect to camera". Cleaning app data is not helping. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thank you in advance
Rom was installed with use of up-to-date orangefox recovery, migrated from pixel experience ROM based on A11 (after full wipe). Magisk v23 installed.
EDIT: FULL WIPE and reflash solved this issue. Maybe it was something connected with migration ? Anyway, great job! ROM works perfect
Can't give any app permissions to the SD card. When I point it at the root of the SD it says. To protect your privacy choose another folder. Won't let me select the root of the SD card.
Hi
I tried the rom. Good work overall but Chrome is freezing and crashing after 1-2 minutes of use. I reflashed clean twice but no luck. Same problem with Chrome.
Did anyone else faces that problem?
Thanks

I installed firefox.which works fine,no freeze
Ok. First if all thanks for the ROM. Overall the main features work normally. The biggest bug that I encountered is chrome issue which everyone is pointing, installing opera or Firefox fixes the issue. The other things that are crucial for me is
1) sound quality
The phone has buzzing noise and I can feel the same through headphones
2) battery life
I think we have little battery drain.
Also, can't go back to Android 11 ROM after flashing this one. Have orangefox recovery. Did system, vendor, data wipe, flashed lineage OS ( also tried pixel experience 11), then tried booting. The phone doesn't pass after Redmi screen on boot. Any ideas?

Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.
Notice:
For this ROM to work you need to use the latest ODM Images. If you need additional guidance on how to do that, please refer to Sonys Guide on how to flash an ODM Image.

No one tried this rom yet? I have a problem over here. It keeps asking for password after the CarbonROM logo even though I wipe everything clear, any ideas? What I was doing was flash 41.3.A.2.99 with everything wiped, flash ODM, flash TWRP, flash the rom and then Pico OpenGapps. Something wrong with my procedure? Thanks in advance.
EDIT1 : Oh yeah, forgot to mention my device is F8332, it isn't supported?

Use the "format data" option in TWRP to get rid of encryption, wipe doesn't clear encryption. If coming from stock, thats necessary unfortunately due to differences in the encryption used. Otherwise (if coming from AOSP) the password its asking for would be the one you used before.
Dual sim support?

Volte Supported??
First of all, thanks alot @Myself5 and all other devs, who are working hard to bring this to our XZ :good:
My experiences after 1 day:
- rom is very smooth and snappy.
- root via Magisk v16 & Xposed 90.1-beta3 (systemless) works flawlessly
- the fp sensor always works, but it's not as sensitive as with stock
- night light worked - until I've installed Substratum and a Substratum theme, but after that it doesn't work anymore (even after deactivating, uninstalling the theme, a system restart and deinstalling the Substratum app it sill doesn't work). Also a dirty flash of the rom.zip didn't help to get it working again.
- the build-in camera takes acceptable pics (not as well as the stock camera, but acceptable); also focussing is a little slower than stock. Another thing is, it's not possible to chance the location to save the pics to the ext. sdcard.
- formatted as a portable storage, the ext. sdcard item on the left of the status bar can't be removed (see attachement)
- the battery consumption is a bit high (from 100 % to 98 % in 1 h - without doing anything)
But in the whole, it's really promising for th 1st official build :good::good::good:

Hello, is the battery life when used good ? As good as stock ?
And does it have that bug when if you record video the result will be green ?
Can you upload screen recording of rom from home to settings and other functions.
I plan on flashing this soon, but I figured I'd tell you, your link to the Carbon FAQ is broken.

The battery consumption while in use is ok. But my device doesn't go into deepsleep while the screen is off. So I had lost about 23 % in 10 hrs - leaving the device untouched!
Video recording works; I haven't noticed that bug.

Sorry, I went back to stock for now, as there's a new stock fw (41.3.A.2.107).
I have a few bugs to report. First, the fingerprint sensor is extremely slow, about half or even one third of the speed compared to stock. Second, could you guys please fix the deepsleep? That one is not working for now. And third, Night Light does not work at all...
Thank you for updating the XZ to Android 8.1 I am glad to see carbon rom on this device although it is not that stable for now.
Really nice ROM and I'm looking forward to make this my daily driver, I tried it for two days and these are the bugs I found:
1: GPU performance is really bad with 2d games and google maps lagging all the time when they never do on stock
2: CPU performance is inferior compared to stock, especially single threaded
3: enabling 120 hz display won't do anything and the settings or UI will crash when leaving the page
4: fingerprint seems to be sometimes less responsive, usable but can be improved
Camera is not so bad and the modded google camera works well, hopefully this will become the first proper AOSP based platform for this device that has only seen failures until now, keep up the good work.
Can I dirty flash this rom for just update?
I use Carbon Rom 3/31 version, but I can't use delta update because my device cannot receive the stock script.
I must change the rom script with Notepad+.
So...can I use dirty flash or....could you manage it?
Thanks for continously updating this rom and thank you for fixing the bug with the fingerprint sensor.
I'm not sure if deepsleep has been fixed but there is a big problem with playing music. I can't even play any music track at all...
Hello, looking forward to make this my daily driver, is it possible ?
What I would want is decent battery life and camera.
Hello. I tried to listen to music after installing the ROM, but the earphones are disconnected as soon as they are connected to the smartphone.
The earbuds pfe 132 and are made up of earphones with an iphone microphone.

Clean flashed the 10th build along with Rytekk's dual-SIM patch, Pico Open GApps and Magisk 16.3 to my F8332 and other than that annoying SD notification (which can be banished to the notification drawer by making System UI notifications low priority) and Night Light not working, the only other major issue raised ITT of the CPUs not entering Deep Sleep is fixed according to Adiutor.
Great stuff. I haven't been able to standardise on one ROM since the CM days (interesting side note, it looks like you built the kernel for the NOCT build on my Z2 tablet).
I recommend this to anyone for daily use. Also, lower your expectations to realistic levels guise. I remember when XDA threads were for flagging major broken functionality, not complaining that a few amateur enthusiasts weren't putting out work that competed on every indicator against the finished product of a multibillion-dollar for-profit international conglomerate.

Its awesome, so smooth and fast.
That's interesting. Despite I'm not a fan of AOSP ROMs I may give it a try. Thank you

Good question. I didn't try them yet, so I'm not completely sure what we need. Also, it's not mentioned anywhere how we should install them, all of them, or in some order. Maybe we need just the core. I'm a little busy at the moment, may try to give feedback later.
great work dev just flashed the rom is smooth and fast
I'm installed this ROM together with Magisk 21.1 and NIK Gapps Core and everything run smoothly, no major issue that were found so far. Thanks dev !!!!!!!!
I have also installed it in addition to Magisk and FlameGapps with no issues at all and it runs super smoothly just with a few little lag spikes here and there, but that's totally normal and could just be my phone getting hot
Also, @Synt4x.93 Just wanted to let you know that I linked this forum post on the Custom Android 11 rom list.
EDIT: NEVER MIND THEY ALREADY ADDED IT
Haven't used a custom rom in a while (last was for Nexus 5X and Samsung Galaxy S4). Is the camera quality the same with this ROM compared to stock?

No, camera quality and audio are much worst. I would recommend you to use gcam. I'm using this version.
For me, WiFi does not work. My device scans and finds the network correctly but doesn't connect. No error message whatsoever. After dirty flash from Lineage 17.1 I did a clean install, too, but that sadly didn't change a thing.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Alright, found it. I installed the 2020-12-16 version at first, with the 2020-12-18 everything is ok.
Great build!
Even more stable than the earlier builds of the official LOS 17.1.
Great job OP!

Does this automatically default to the current boot partition? I think there is no recovery partition. Wouldn't it be enough to fastboot boot the recovery, so the current kernel is not overwritten? (second partition set can remain unchanged as backup)

Very nice Rom, installed it and it works. One thing I couldn't find is an option to switch to 90Hz? Is it possible to get it to 90Hz?
EDIT: Found a way " adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 90.0 " does the job.
Nice Rom, keep up the good work. Thank you a lot!
Finally we are gifted with the boon of roms for this phone. Praise be!
But for real though thank you so much.
If've tesed the Rom a little bit, two things, first the Statusbar is a little bit to high and scrolling is a little bit stuttery (maybe something to do with scrolling cache?).
Other than that very smooth and stable rom.

Both and a lot more will be fixed in the next update. Meanwhile the refresh rate is set to 60hz hence your phone feels stuttery. That can be fixed with the following adb command: adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 90.0

Late reply, but flashing the stock boot.img doesn't appear to fix things on my end. Will go back to oxygenOS for now. Hope that the next update makes the ROM more stable.
Hello Sir, I bought the OnePlus NORD N10 5G phone last week and wanted to use it for direct streaming with my new Hearing AIds. In the System/Accessibility menu, i ticked Hearing Aids Compatibility and paired my hearing Aids devices and they showed up as connected. Alas, no sound in my aids! They still come out from the loudspeaker even if I press the volume button and change the output to Hearing Aids. I know that ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) works well on PIXEL 3 and 4. Is it implemented in your ROM? I don't want to void my guarantee if there is no hope that it ill work. Thanks for your answer.

As far as I know unlocking your Bootloader on a OnePlus-Phone doesn't void your guarantee.
Help pls, not sure what I am doing wrong. I have a Oneplus Nord N10 5G and have once again had to rely on the MSM Dowload Tool at billie8_14_O.01_201121 to recover the situation!
Like on all my phones of past nearly 10 yrs, rooting is the best option for me. I wonder when TWRP will be available?
I managed to install the custom recovery as above but adb sideloading the PixelExperience_billie-11.0-20210306-2121-BETA-UNOFFICIAL.zip doesn't work for me. It crashes out about halfway thru saying it was expecting to receive file for the N10, which it is.
Just to clarify this Pixel zip file is for the Build Number Oxygen OS 10.5.7 BE86AA and after?? Thanks all for any advice/pointers

So, what's the flashing process for this? Haven't really flashed many ROMs to my Mi 10 Lite and I'm under the impression some things have changed (previous phone was Redmi Note 4X).
Do I:
1. Reboot to Recovery
2. Download the proper ZIP for your device
3. Wipe Data/Cache/System when coming from non-AOSP ROMs
4 Flash the proper firmware
5. Flash the ROM
6. Reboot to System
or is there something else I have to do beforehand?

Adding to that, don't wipe anything else than Data and Cache, the partitions are automagically format or written by need.
When I wipe cache and format data partition I can't transfer rom file to phone using pc and I can't see any files on device using twrp app.. Tried to push file using adb sideload but twrp says encrypted fbe, any ideas?
Never mind, I suceeded

Ahh, nice to hear that it's working now.
Nevertheless, if you have any other difficulties, you can also just join our telegram group and ask for help there.
@Domac5 forgot to say, that after you wipe and format your data partition you need to "reboot to recovery" and then the partition will be ready to take your files, for the flashing process.
Thanks for the ROM, will try it asap.
Edit.
Turns out. It has many flaws. The recents are not snappy when they come up, and the there are a few lags when scrolling in the google feed (on the left hand side of the home screen), and in Google Chrome, reading the stories - even after they have loaded up form the network. This is the same for all the AOSP-like ROMs because they are compiled from the same source as far as I see.
The last version works very well, it's nice to have the pixel experience and without glitches.
Infinite thanks to the authors. I look forward to new updates
EDIT: by the way, I miss the gallery application, there is none, just google photos but it is not the same

Yep. Up to the last instruction. Flashed eu firmware, flashed pixel rom, cleared cache, reboot.
I maybe cannot express this enough, but i can tell you how it can be recreated, at least in my end.
Go to settings app, tap on battery, swipe to go to the recent apps. Then, the settings app will not go to the recents and 'join' the others and will stay there.
Moreover I saw that If I leave the app there, it will crash after a while. So far its happening on the Settings app, and on the Play Store as well.

The recents issue should be resolved already. About the other ones, I can't replicate any of these. If you could send me a video explaining/showing the issues that would be great

Hey ccerrato, first of all, infinite thanks for your donation. I really really appreciate that )
But remember, none of you have to donate anything to me. You can use everything for free (obviously), as I also use this ROM as my daily driver, but if you have some money left over, feel free to do so
Coming back to the gallery "issue", there only is Google Photos on Pixel devices, hence why there is only Google Photos in PixelExperience. But if you don't want to upload your data to Google servers you can just use the app without backup functionality.

On EvolutionX this doesn't happen. Will try today with the latest build to check.
Edit, yep still the same. The recents problem. Sometimes i cannot go to home screen immediately and i have to repeat the gesture to get out of the stuck app.
Ive managed to capture the problem in the latest build https://sourceforge.net/projects/sm...t/PixelExperience/New Tree (stable)/20211005/

Any got some updates on how this ROM is functioning?
Issues:
1) recovery takes a lot to boot and errors out a lot. almost unusable.
2) no avb key partition
3) bootloader and recovery should be the original ones from xiaomi and avb_key should reflect the new rom.. in this way it could be possible to relock bootloader.

None of the mentioned problems are related to this rom, use orangefox recovery & keep rom file in sdcard or otg before flashing. No recovery for sweet is able to access internal storage yet due to encryption. Now coming to the rom, below are my personal opinion from 24 hours of usage:
- Flashing is smooth & it booted up within 2-3 minutes. No errors related to recovery. No firmware flashing required if migrating from Crdroid A12.
- UI is butter smooth at 120Hz & no jitters or fc's faced yet (not a gamer, just youtube, facebook, insta & lightroom).
- Camera app is stock lineageos cam, must be replaced with gcam 8.6.
- Battery life is insane, just had a concall for 1 hour & battery dropped 2%. No idle drain observed.
- All banking & UPI apps working.
- Operator Wifi calling, bluetooth, Wifi, DTS, DTW, Hifi Audio, Monet - all these working like charm.
- Customizations are limited & should be available with future updates.
- Charging is bit slow.
I'm curious if Google Assistant is working properly on this ROM, including Continued Conversation?
good day I would like to try this ROM, I am new, could you tell me how to install it? In my redmi note 10 pro I have xiaomi.eu I hope you can help me greetings

is it compatible with anx camera? Or does the natuve camera use 108mp? thanks
I am actually impressed with the stability of a A13 rom. Battery is excellent, but there are 2 problems for me.
- The banking app my bank uses doesn't work on A13? The phone passes SafetyNet but app doesn't work.
- Spotify or youtube music sometimes just stops playing music, or pauses
Also using the LMC8.4 R14, faster then on A12. Supports 108 with the right XML.
As for me, everything works out of the box - including banking app (Alior) and Google Wallet . Rom seems to be very responsive and overall stable.
With latest Vantom kernel I haven't experienced battery drain yet, but it takes usally few days to come out - so this yet to be confirmed.
Great work.
@olhotorto link to the device tree gives 404, could you post proper one?
Can someone report on the time it takes to charge?
Someone said it would be slow.
Also, whats the battery performance with this rom?
Thanks

For me battery was impressive for the first 2 3 days. Now it's average, about 8h estimate battery life in accubattery. Charging is a bit slower, less then 2 hours for a full charge.
It's usable, but if you want something extremely usable, then wait a bit more
