[DEBLOAT] OOS 9.5.x De-bloat (Systemless+Automated+Easily Reversible) [Aug 28]

This script was made to 9.5.8 OP7 OxygenOS, some things can be different in future, so report if something is broken. Use at your own risk and feel free to experiment as this is a systemless mod.
First, the prerequisites:
1- Unlocked bootloader with Magisk and TWRP (you can use temporary TWRP if you please). If you don't know what is that, take a look at the XDA threads about it, it's easy. Please don't ask about "how to unlock bootloader" or "how to install Magisk".
2- Debloater (Terminal Emulator) Magisk module. Download it from Magisk Manager.
3- Any Terminal Emulator app.
4- import-debloat.txt config file. Download it here
5. Backup (yeah, this module doesn't change anything in /system and can be reverted at any time, but backups are always welcome)
6. Magisk Mount script. Download it from here
Magisk mount is needed to "reinstall" system apps by deleting the dummy folders from Magisk partition if something breaks.
If you have everything handy it should be a matter of few seconds to debloat.
Let's deal with useless system apps, temeletry, some ****ty apps. According from the @Tomatot- thread:

Let's start this!
1. Copy the import-debloat.txt config file to the folder /data/cache in the root. (you can copy it by a root explorer or reboot into recovery and copy it by TWRP file explorer)
2. Install the Debloater (Terminal Emulator) Magisk module using the Magisk Manager.
3. Open the terminal emulator app
> Type 'su' and press enter
> Grant root permissions
> Type debloat and press enter.
4. You will see the options to debloat in various categories which are self explanatory. As we have the config file which has a predefined app list to de-bloat stored in /data/cache folder in root already. Type 'i' which says import config and press enter 2 times.
5. Reboot 2 times and you're done most probably if nothing breaks.
Ta-dah! Fully debloated OOS. To keep the debloat after update the ROM, just reflash Magisk and you're fine. You don't need to do the procedure every update.

If it breaks the system or causes boot-loop which shouldn't be the case as I'm using the OP7 9.5.8 and everything is fine, but well, **** happens. Don't worry! It's pretty easy to reinstall all of them in one click by TWRP.
Did you download the Magisk Mount script which I asked to earlier? If yes, just flash it with TWRP and the magisk will be mounted and accessible in TWRP file explorer. If you didn't download the script earlier, Just adb sideload it in recovery.
After mounting the Magisk in TWRP > Click on Advanced and go to file explorer.
Then delete the app folder of the system app you've uninstalled in /Magisk/terminal_debloater/system/app (/sbin/.core/img/terminal_debloater/system/app) or /Magisk/terminal_debloater/system/priv-app (/sbin/.core/img/terminal_debloater/system/priv-app) then that should undo it.

I took the Light debloat from Tomatot and converted to Debloat (Terminal Emulator) module syntax. I will let it more clear in the thread.
I can convert the other two ones (Extreme and Invisible), specially Invisible would be fine to less experienced users.

Yes, just follow the syntax do add another system app to debloat:
Appname^=/system/path/to/appfolder
If you don't want to debloat some app, just erase the entry with the app that you don't want to remove.
You can find the system apps folder browsing /system/app and /system/priv-app. After every change to import-debloat.txt you have to run debloat and import again (to create the dummy empty folders.)
Edit it in Notepad++ to avoid format issues (at PC) or Quickedit (at cell phone).

Light it's the best choice.
Invisible it's to low and Extreme could be too hard on cleaning up. But it's up to you, of course.:good:

Question Okay, I'm stupid...

So, I was going through and removing bloat from my phone and was trying to remove the Samsung Contacts app through `adb`, but apparently I removed the wrong thing and now the Phone, Messages, and Contacts app are crashing every time I try to open them. I removed "package:/system/priv-app/SamsungContactsProvider/SamsungContactsProvider.apk=com.samsung.android.providers.contacts" which is apparently a core service. I'm wondering if anyone might know how I could reinstall that APK?

install this apk should solve the problem

If worse comes to worse a factory reset will.
A lot of the bloatware is useful. I prefer to use a package disabler as I can easily toggle them on or off as needed real time.

It sat for a minute trying to install and then came up with, "App not installed" and says that every time I retry.

Trying install via adb I get: "

Hmmm, perhaps I should remove Google Contacts first...

Okay, that helped, but now I'm getting: "

I thought deleting the "com.samsung.android.providers.contacts" might solve the problem, but trying gave me: "

try these commands on pc
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.providers.contacts
adb shell pm install -r --user 0 /system/priv-app/SamsungContactsProvider/SamsungContactsProvider.apk

The first command returns: "Package com.samsung.android.providers.contacts installed for user: 0", but the second command returns: "Failure [-3001: INSTALL_FAILED_REJECTED_BY_BUILDTYPE]"

If you have deleted the apk with root you just have to paste it again in the folder /system/priv-app/SamsungContactsProvider

It is somewhat complicated to recover the device without wipe in the past I had these problems, it was solved with a higher version of the application

If you had made a copy of all your apps including system apks with ApkExport you could now use that copy to restore it.
Now before you factory reset make a copy of your installed apps and any system updates then save it on the PC or SD card. After the reload you won't need Playstore. It speeds things up a lot...

@blackhawk, thanks for the tip. Right now, I'm trying to set up a Telegram account so I can root my phone (US version) if I'm going to go through the trouble of wiping. Unfortunately, Telegram's SMS verification appears to be broken or at least doesn't like Mint Mobile... Fun day.

You really don't need to root.
Consider the possible consequences carefully.
Package Disabler will easily block apks you don't want running.

Well, it would appear it's moot anyway since I'm at Baseband v4 and only v1 can be rooted apparently...

The only NON-root solution that let’s you disable any unwanted packages that come pre-installed / installed with your phone / tablet.

It has an interactive widget that allows you to toggle selected entries on/off. It runs even in Safe mode so be careful what you disable. I've never had to do a factory reset because of it but the potential is there.
Unfortunately it no longer disables Google play Services but will disable all carrier bloatware including OTA updates.

Then how come you have removed apk from system?
In case you have used command like
pm disable packageName . Then try pm enable packageName
Or
If you have used
pm hide packageName then try
pm unhide packageName

Best Debloat Method For ROG Phone 3?

I'm cleaning up my ROG Phone 3 for playing PUBG Mobile. So i want to ask which debloat solution is best for performance and cleanliness? (BTW i saw that some methods may cause Basic Integrity (part of SafetyNet attest) to fail. And passing SafetyNet is must for me) My phone has unlocked bootloader, rooted with magisk and i can install TWRP if needed.

The ROG 3 stock rom can be fully debloated and cleaned up for blazing fast performance and battery life. Using a tool like App Manager (download from F-Droid) with root access is a good start in addition to the basic stuff like only allowing the few apps that you need to run in the background, etc. The app I just mentioned provides deep level of control for each app.
For SafetyNet: I pass and can hide root from each and every app (including some the toughest banking apps and games) with a Magisk 23 + SafetyNet Fix 2.1.1 + LSPosed & XPrivacy and with no performance hit. Should note that I run Android 10 and Magisk 23 and won't upgrade. I don't know how well it works on the latest firmware and Magisk versions (Magisk 24 no longer has Magisk Hide)

Doe anyone have a list of OnePlus system &/or user APK's that are safe to disable?
With most other phones I've used recently (Samsung/Google Pixel/Nokia/Motorola),you can see all apps,including system apps,in the device settings.
This phone is odd in that a lot of system apps are not listed,but,become accessible when using the ADB App Control program.
The tool has a Google search as to what each apk is typically for,but,is not of use w/this phone"s "hidden" system apks.
Soooo,that's why I'm posting this thread/question.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I updated my Xiaomi 12 pro with the miui downloader app and now I have an app called bouygues app cloud installed that installed me 3 games and I can't uninstall it. some advice?

Could you post the full name of the rom?
Is your carrier Bouygues?

i also got this app, they "introduced" it with the april patch 14.0.11.0 TLBEUXM. and on 14.0.13.0 its there as well. i was able to uninstall the games it installed every day. i asked them about the app in the feedback option, no answer so far. the anoying thing about it is that everything in it is in french and i understand nothing. i found a solution for me as i am on a unlimited 5g plan. in app info you can restrict the app from using mobile data so it does nothing anymore, for me atleast.

I also got this "bouygues appcloud" installed after upgrading my Xiaomi 12 (no pro) to 14.0.9.0.TBLEUXM official ROM downloaded from miuies.com.
I can uninstall the app, but it gets installed daily without consent.
Nothing on the phone asked me to install anything. I saw it because of a "Bouygues AppCloud" notification.
