Question Project Treble GSI - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hey, community...
Obviously custom rom seem to be a topic of great sensetivity here? So my question is, has the possibility of flashing a GSI from Project Treble ever been explored yet?

Because there is little rom development for this device?

Greetings Friends,
I have seen very little development or developers for this device is very rare because the A1 before releasing the Kernel already had development, and this device was already released the kernel but I still see little development.
Yeah i dunno why developers not intrested in this device
How long ago did they start selling these devices?

Longer than A1 when it takes first customs
Before Launching the source code of the A1 Kernel and there were ROMS and Magisk modules for this phone, the participation is very minimal, I think they were all for the RN5.
I just hope developers will have a look at Mi A2. Is it too early to expect development?

Lineage for the A1 started 6 months after the release.
edit: Also the Pie update is near so probably nobody wants to waste time on bringing up a 8.1. based rom.
Another thing is that it has Treble GSI A/B support, so you can install a variety of already popular roms right off the bat. I know a custom kernel is under development that has both overclock and underclock as well. I am currently using the Arrow GSI rom and it works very well. I have xposed and root, I also get way better battery life than with the stock rom. The only bug I have is the front flashlight turns on when I use the front camera. You can flash any of the A/B roms on this site if you want more roms.
It even includes Pie roms and lineage os. I see no reason devs would want to spend time making something that already exists.
They will most likely work on kernel development/tweaks to fix bugs in the already existing treble roms, like the camera bug in the rom I am using.

ROM ..why not for miA2

I have been looking for great custom ROMs but I haven't found except pixel experience that's too unofficial for Mi A2....I don't understand that why talented developers are not considering this device...hope n wish I can see n install great ROMs from great developers community...wish n request developers to initiate it...
I guess because it's an Android One phone, most users (myself included) already got what they wanted.
Previous years Mi A1 got many roms/kernels. But it took some months because of the A/B partition. This years Mi A2 should get everything like official TWRP recovery, official supported custom roms, kernels etc. Just we have to wait. That's it. Developers are trying.

I would love to develop ROMs like I did with my previous phones, but since the Mi A2 community keeps "demanding" developers to step up and develop them free roms, I'm not going to. I'll probably develop one for myself and if someone wants it, I'll charge for it.
Cheers.
Instead of begging dev to make rom for this device, why not you visit project treble thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble .. since a2 has project treble support so why not you try something from there... plus, please give devs some donation for their hard work, appreciate their efforts... and try to not begging them to do something..
Are you a developer.....well idk....tell me in which language requesting is begging....you don't need to develop any ROMs.i will not use even you put it for free...you are mannerless...learn some basics ...arrogance leads to destruction....peace...
Any ways thanks for the link...

Custom rom for SM-T510 ?

Currently I've lineage os on my tablet (t510), I'm searching for something else more stable and with a bit more functions.
Any ideas ?

If you want roms with more function, try heading over to the project treble section of xda and flashing some GSI images. Currently using phhusson's stock Android 10 with go gapps but you might like to use a ROM with more features.

Based on my current understanding, project treble aims to make it easier for OEMs (like Samsung) to update android. Here's a more in depth read about project treble: https://www.computerworld.com/artic...ect-treble-android-upgrade-fix-explained.html
A GSI is a Generic System Image that can be flashed on top of existing vendor code. So it makes it easier to change/update your android OS without companies like Samsung having to modify their hardware compatibility code (that's the goal anyways) which leads to faster updates.
For us enthusiasts, that means we can flash the same stock android GSI ROM, lineageOS GSI ROM, resurrection remix GSI, etc. on any phone supporting project treble (all devices that came out with android 9+ & some android 8).That's the same GSI file on any device with a recent version of VNDK. It's not all perfect for compatibility yet, but I've yet to run into any issues.
Yup! As @Roarmaster said you can check out Project Treble page. I too use GSIs and have flashed 3 GSIs so I can recommend you some. In project treble section for AB devices search for Bless GSI, it has lot of customization and works quite well, selinux enforcing, megisk safety net passes and google play certification all by default.

Thank you for the tip, this sounds like an interesting option. I'm looking at flashing a custom ROM onto my SM-T510 in the hope of improving the performance as the multitaking on the stock rom isn't great. Can I ask have you been flashing A, B, or A/B ROMS? I've installed two different Treble checker apps and they gave conflicting results.

Flash the rooms from the A/AB section of project treble. When checking for treble compatibility, use the app recommended on Phusson's GSI page as most GSIs are based on his work. If you want to flash a ROM, make sure you flash the arm32-binder64-ab version (like it says from the treble app) for the SM-T510.
Amazing! Thank you for the info and links @Roarmaster, I really appreciate the help. I've known about project Treble for a while but I've been out of the custom ROM scene for quite a few years, so I had no idea you could flash like this. I'll give one of Phusson's roms a go. Thanks again!

Question Why there is no custom rom for this phone?

It's because still new? or the Developers look at the user is still too few?
Anybody could answer this? Thank you
There's custom ROMs coming, hopefully soon.
There's a few factors for why none is out now but main reason is that the device is still pretty new and has official Android 12 coming which would cause a lot of additional work to do if the ROM developer started with Android 11.

No custom rom?
If you had looked on the first page of the 11T pro thread, you would have seen Xiaomi Eu and an AOSPA rom Alpha version.

I think you misunderstand the point of Trebleized devices and GSIs.
A GSI, or Generic System Image, is a system image designed to be used with any device, usually with the original kernel.
Project Treble is the idea behind "modular" software such as GSIs and GKIs (generic kernel images), where the "product specific" code is divorced from the kernel and system code and kept in its own partition.
So, to answer your question, I believe the S21U is Treble enabled, which means you can use any GSI.
thanks for reply.
I understand the subject well since i installed the GSI based roms for xiaomi phones (curtana. mojito . vayu . alioth ...) So, my real question is: Why there is no (pixel xperience . evolution. arrowOS ....) roms yet ?

I dont understand this question. Why should be a gsi device specific thread..?
Just Google PHHUSSEN treble experimentions or click this Link. This list is almost daily updated with much of gsi roms like PE or Evo.
Look for haridhayal11's gsi project for exynos 2100, I can't remember if he posted here before but he's the one that enabled us to use GSI on S21s with good stability.
