Hello good day, I bricked my K20 Pro by flashing the Mi 9T Pro ROM on the phone with clean all + lock method unintentionally, now my phone has locked bootloader and has an error that MIUI version couldnt be installed on this device, does the dewp flash cable work to enter EDL Mode or do I need to open back pannel and short JTAG pins ?
Pls inform me. Thanks!

Try an old version of Mi Unlock to unlock the bootloader. If that doesn’t work, wait for 5 days and try again and it should allow you to unlock.

I dont have my phone linked with that MIUI Account because the vendor sold it with pre unlocked bootloader and with official global ROM. Does old mi unlock support non linked accounts?

It is worth a try. Yes the unlock is linked to the account but i have seen people also unlocking it without binding the account. EDL flashing isn’t that easy because it needs an Authorized EDL Account to be able to flash the firmware. You can’t just put the device in EDL and carry on with the flash. So its worth a try rather than just sitting helpless.
Make a new MI account if you don’t have it till now. Hook your device and put it in fastboot mode and try the unlock with the tool. You might get an unlock instantaneously or for worst it might ask you to wait for 168hrs before you can unlock.

You will probably need too open the back panel to enter EDL mode, then you'll need someone with an authorised account to flash for you. A little bit of digging on these forums and you'll see many others have done this. There's a Russian guy with an authorised account, you'll find his contact details easily in the posts about this.
You'll need to pay him about $20 and you'll need to give him remote control access to your PC in order to flash an official ROM for you.

Do you have access to a hairdryer? That seems to be a common tool people have used. You might need to risk something sharp to get the first opening, but then something like a credit card could be used to pry it open more. There are a couple of posts on how others have done this without proper phone repair tools.

Thank you i will wait for the phone to turn off from fastboot and immediately start flashing
EDIT: Solved, check latest post. (#28)
My Mi 9 bricked after i flashed the MIUI 11 beta (9.9.24), then with MiFlash, flashed back to Global (i have unlocked the bootloader)
Now the phone is in this state:
- Screen black, no signal to anything, no LED turns on
- Cannot boot to System, Fastboot, Recovery, or EDL
- Does not react to any button combination (Tried with/without charger, power button holding for 1 min, etc.) Guess i'm f-ed
Can someone help me please? :/
I'm not an expert but if you phone don't event turn on, how you expect someone to help you? The only one who can help you it's a service or a repair lab. I don't think that the problem is in software.

As far as i know Mi 9 cepheus doesn't have rollback protection.... Maybe this miui 11 beta has, and i didn't know.
EDIT: It does not have any ARB... I did something wrong but dunno what
You can try to unlock again with Mi Unlock tool. Helped in my case which was different from yours though. But you've got nothing to lose anyhow.

You need to open back cover, find EDL testpoint pins and flash full ROM through MiFlash.
If you dont have authorized Mi account for EDL flash, find someone who have it.

If you can go under the device manager and see if there is a usb device connecting? It may be in Snapdragon's flash mode. If it is, you need to find someone with a privledged account or goto the mi store.

Can you dubbelcheck the rom you tried to flash? Make sure its really for MI9? This kind of trouble most of the time happens when flashing a rom for another phone. Like MI9T or something.

Yes it was cepheus_global_images_V10.2.13.0.PFAMIXM_20190709.0000.00_9.0_global. I followed every instruction for flashing with MiFlash tool....
I had a similar problem when I received the phone, I couldn't start it right out of the box, it's certainly not the same problem but I waited a few hours and then I had the idea to boot it in fastboot and when I restarted it, it worked
I followed the procedure of converting Mi A2 to Mi 6x. But the phone does not turn on after that, nothing appears on the screen, not even the fastboot.
Already tried to open cel, and do the test point, the phone is recognized in the device manager, but always the error when using Mi Flash. I've done this procedure before, on another phone. I always get the error "can not read from COM port x"
Already tried:
Uninstall and install qualcomm drivers, various versions of Roms, 8.1, 9, Mi 6X.
Restart the computer, other USB ports, other cables.
Mi A2 converting 6x
When everything is fine don't warry . Charged your phone.
If anything is wrong that means device is dead.. go to service center or edl mode to connect your device to pc

I've done it before, but now nothing works. Mobile phone is open here, already tested test point on all USB ports, and on another computer. But now I always get the error on the COM port.
I will let the phone charge 100% to see what happens. But even the sign of life when I connect the charger.
With the modified prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660 file from Redmi note 5 the phone flashes, but it does not work. I think I need the patched version for Mi A2 ..
Would anyone know how to modify the prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660 file or have the patch version for Mi a2?
Already managed to find the modified file for Mi A2, can close ...

sorry to say the adb4 was triggered base on my experience, you cannot revive your phone anymore, unless if your phone was under warranty and you can go to service center to replace the motherboard. of course do a legal alibi that your phone don't open after a update and never say that you try to modify. if your phone is already no warranty, you can still approach the service center for replacement of the board but with the cost, well mostly the cost was same as a brand new Mi A2.

I managed to revive, it was hard work, but now it's working. I needed the modified prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr for A2 not to check, and a modified version of Miflash. Open the phone, start by test point and use these modified files.

Hi All,
I received an update notification yesterday on my China Market device with Global ROM and I immediately downloaded the update to MIUI13. I had 60% battery when the download finished and after downloading it did an app optimization. After that, I hit the reboot button with 58% battery. The device turned off and since then the device is literally not showing any sign of life. it doesn't charge or show up in the ADB devices list. My MBP doesn't recognize USB in the devices list. What is the best option I have? From threads, it doesn't sound like a brick or EDL mode to me but should I still contact the EDL guy?
Just an update. I was using Macbook to test if the device is alive. MacBook Pro doesn't show any updates when you connect a new device. I plugged USB into a Windows machine installed on my Bootcamp, Windows recognized the device as Qualcomm 9008. Which is effectively in EDL mode. I have no idea how the device got into that mode but my assumption is that I had TWRP installed with BL open and when going from Android 11 to Android 12 via MIUI13, something called anti-rollback protection which was implemented by Xiaomi put the phone into EDL mode. Luckily, I am in the UK and got in touch with Xiaomi after sales, they agreed to repair it because the issue was caused by a software update.
Lesson Learned: Never update your phone via OTA to a newer android version without taking a proper backup. A really bad experience with Xiaomi. it cost me one day to try to fix and will be costing me some time to install everything back after the repair. I am seriously thinking to buy an iPhone now.

I dont think its about anti-rollback function
That function only affect when u try to flash from higher miui version back to lower version. It will not allow u to do that
In your case, it 's all about xiaomi software problem :| and it is unacceptable problem

Well, finally I got in touch with the EDL guy and he fixed it smoothly. I literally had to go through a lot of documents and websites to understand the problem but he fixed it in 10 minutes. I think he is using some sort of cracked miFlashTool where he interferes with the communication between the phone and Xiaomi servers and bypasses authorization issues. I think many people are having problems at that point when following the EDL operation explained on the internet. Anyways, fixed it fairly easily and cheaply.

If you can get to fastboot, you can flash the original stock ROM. Plenty of instructions here and on the Xiaomi EU forums. You only need edl if you cannot get to fastboot.

You cannot flash anything in fastboot if bootloader is locked
In that case, you will need an edl flash to recover. But be careful that he doesn't leave it with an edl account permission or you won't be able to unlock without that edl account. Although I thought you could flash the original stock firmware that it came with back on with it locked.
Hi, i have same problem after try to flash Miui 13. But The MIflash tool shows error:sw path is not valid, have not found solution for this error message. How can I Get in contact with the EDl Guy.. I have a Mi 11 Pro

It´s so frustrating that the update caused this. It´s now the first time for me to solve this problem. But I have so many other issues that I don´t have the time for this. Hello same here - I guess flashed wrong version from EEA instead of EU of Android 11 - all went good but then I allowed OTA updates and finally update to MUI13 I had a brick.
Now I am in contact with one EDL guy but not certain he is legit. Can you send me PM for your contact?
I'm planning on purchasing this phone but things like this one makes me worried. Is there a risk to update the eu stable firmwares from fastboot with bootloader unlocked?
If you know how to do it, no risk.
After not paying much attention what I was doing I successfully manage to put the phone in EDL mode - hard brick - black screen only , no fastboot , no recovery. And since last night I have been trying to install in edl mode. So when I short the pins it starts edl authentication - flashing (latest china rom) device is not global. But it never ends. My account has authorization to flash. so it must be something else. longest I have waited was 9000 seconds ... Anyone with good knowledge , suggestions or ideas?
I cant pay anyone cuz I cant link paypal with my card and I cant use binance its 10 days to wait to authorize to make payments
I borowed Paypal on the end from a friend and solved by unbrick.RU on telegram.

Remove find my device, than somehow open some window with some codes , and started del authentication and flash remotely. I opened my phone for nothing ... But his procedure worked.
