A71 died, tried s9+ loved it, possible to use s9cam app? - Samsung Galaxy A71 Questions & Answers

I have two a71, one has a problem. It died now two times. It goes all black and competely dead. Reacts to nothing. First timw it dies i sent it to service and it returned with note that it was all normal when it arrived there. So it wqs working fine for almost two months and died again. Completely dead. So its again at service.
The point of this is that i took s9+ as a replacement and i see two major thing that makes me want to change my phone. Fingerprint on s9 is acurate and instantaneus and fingerprint on q71 is just crap, most of the time it takes me few tries to unlock and sometimea i cant. So, a sec or two to a few seconds, its infuriating.
Other thing is camera, s9+ camera app is way more inteligent. Is there a way to port/use a s9+ camera app on a71?
Thanks

I'm almost certain it's not as easy as just using the S9+ camera app on the A71 and instantly getting better processing. If I had to guess, I'd say that the whole framework inside the S9+ as well as the libs meant for the SoC all combine to get better results on the S9+ (since it was a flagship obviously).

Should i get a warranty replacement? (Camera Vibrates when Starting)

So I've had a problem with my camera for some time now. Whenever I start the camera app or anything that uses the camera, my phone starts vibrating/making a weird noise. It feels like it is initializing the camera, but I have no idea what is happening. All I know is it take an intermittent amount of time (1-5 seconds) of vibrating until I can use the camera.
I'm looking to get my phone replaced, but I've read so many horror stories of people getting refurbished phones that are in worse conditions. Should I get my phone replaced? Do they do replacements for different phones? (Return a S6, get something else instead?)
My friend's S6 has the same problem. He can prevent it from happening when he opens the camera app while the phone camera (rear) is facing the ground.
I wouldn't bother. Almost everyone I know with an S6 has/had this problem. It doesn't affect camera performance at all, just sometimes takes a few more seconds for the camera to focus on launch.
I got mine replaced. I have a a two year old and those seconds before the camera is ready is crucial to getting a silly face or just a blur...
MM update stops the vibrating thing, in my phone at least.

[Solved] Outdated Camera Version

So before Android M came out, the one major thing I was waiting for was the new Camera features that were promised to come for the S6. When it did come out, I was disappointed to find no extra camera features. I never really looked into it.
Now some context to this post. I've gone through at least 5 different Camera2 API apps trying to get something that produces sufficient quality pictures and doesn't have that strange 8MP limit while using C2API. Of course, none of them worked.
I've recently realized, surprised that this has never been brought up before, that the stock Camera App is the incorrect version (cue dramatic music). The camera app in Android M for the S6 Active is v4 (the one for lollipop) of the camera app, while on the standard S6 (from my knowledge) it is v5. v5 of the camera app adds the fabled extra controls to the S6, including shutter speed control, and perhaps a fixed C2API. Can anyone else attest to my suspicious? And what kind of solutions are there? I've tried tweeting both AT&T and Samsung with no luck.
I have attempted to install v5 manually from an extracted APK, but it was sourced from an s7, which may or may not be of any use. It said "failed to install".
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Wow, I just got in contact with Samsung, and after a bit of complicated explaining, the Rep has passed the bug on to their devs, and hopefully there will be an update soon enough that updates the Camera to add the new features.
Tada?
Hey.
I also noticed that after updating to 6.0, there is no RAW shooting mode and no shutter speed control. Samsung has still not done anything in this regard.

Yeah. I didn't want to bring this thread back from the dead but the Samsung Rep was just trying to get me off their back. I've made several requests more recently and the best response I've gotten is they'll "take it as feedback". I'm honestly fed up with Samsung, and I never plan on purchasing another Samsung device ever again. I wish I wasn't stuck on this stupid contract, I plan on getting a OnePlus 4 when it's released.

Last night, I talked to 3 samsung Reps on their chat service. One told me to wipe the cache partition, the other told me to boot in safe mode. I did all that, still nothing changed. The third one told me that I have to get my device examined physically, like there was some hardware problem. I tried to tell him that maybe it is an outdated camera app, that just needs to be updated, but he wouldn't listen.
I also own a DSLR and I love those RAW shooting modes and shutter speed control. I have take some great long exposure shots. In S6 and Edge, the shutter speed control allows for upto 10 second long exposure, which means that you can take some beautiful shots in low light and also dial down the ISO for low noise.

Sounds like my experience with them as well. Also, just for some clarification on my Original Post, based on my tests it's Lollipops Camera2 API (by Google) that isn't implemented at all. I am pretty sure the S6 had it implemented which allows them to access the RAW features. However, knowing Samsung, they could've just as easily made their own knockoff version of Camera2 API just to say "f**k you we're innovative" (/sarcasm).

Galaxy S8. Camera error.

Hello. I come with a little weird problem. I hope someone can advise me in fixing this. 2 weeks ago I caught a second s8. Android 7.0.
Well, nice and cheap. He has a problem with the cameras. That at first I thought. You buy a camera is mounted and ready. Well, nothing further
When starting the camera, in the best of cases it takes about 20 seconds to start the cameras and everything works fine.
Front or Rear. But 80%, it gives me camera error or unknown error.
What I did:
Delete data from the application .. data and data
Factory reset
Change rear camera with a new one
Update from android 7.0 to 8.0.
Testing with other camera applications ...
Rare is that iris recognition, quite well not 100% but almost always starts.
The only thing I have left to try is to change the front camera. But I doubt it .. any suggestions ????
Thanks in advance..

Front Camera Issues

Not really an issue I think but does anyone know why the front camera selfies at night appear extremely soft and bad ? I tried the native Samsung camera app, the Google pixel camera port ( the s10 camera day one ) and even tried an application called Fv-15 . Is that just the quality i should expect from the phone and does anyone have a good solution?
Thanks !
Actually I got a Note 9 Silver from Bestbuy, then after 6 months the device started to restart by itself.
Turns out the whole sensor array, camera, iris scanner, was broken.
The solution was a replacement, so take it to your tech support and have them run a hardware test.
Sadly QA with Samsung is just nah..

main camera blurr

Hi,
After the first 2020 ota update the camera started to get blurred and now is completely useless.
So i looked at the changelog and the update "fixed" something related to QRcode reading. So they must have messed something up.
Anyone knows anything about it?
Model: ZE620KL 128gb rom, updated to latest firmware, rooted with magisk and with twrp.
Thanks.
Additionally, wide camera works fine so far. But still it is strange that sometimes the main camera works and right after few minutes it gets all blurr again.
Hello, I have the same problem. It looks like the update killed a part of the camera. Your OIS is broken now. You can either replace your camera (around $10) or, as I did it, you can try to tap on the camera module. It may fix it temporary. A little bump could also work.
I am having a similar issue. Autofocus works fine for images close to the camera. Seems to be related to the QR code update mentioned by @Gyplay.
My phone has been serviced 3 times during warranty (free). It just died 20 days after receiving it. Then, around its 4th month of life it stopped holding charge. Around it's 10th month it just died again. No falls, not a single scratch and no liquid spills...
Now I have been living with this issue with the camera for almost a year...
Never had issues with any of my previous phones...
Perhaps I was unlucky, but will never buy an asus phone again.
