Question How to uninstall Orangefox Recovery - Redmi Note 10 Pro

Hello.
Recently I installed Orangefox Recovery but it didn't decrypt and so it didn't show the internal storage.
I wanted to uninstall it and install TWRP with fastboot but it has replaced fastboot.
The fastboot AND adb commands didn't work.
Am I stuck with Orangefox Recovery? Please help.

Yesterday I tested also this version of OrangeFox-R11.1_2-Beta-sweet, but after that I had NO any problems installing back TWRP via fastboot.
Replacing fastboot, this sounds VERY strange - are you sure that you are not making any mistake?

Yeah, Orangefox replaced the original fastboot

{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
Orangefox isn't a Windows program I think though.

Okay, I found the problem.
Via ArrowOS (or another OSS vendor rom based on Pixel Experience), I was able to reboot to the original fastboot (bootloader) and I was able to flash TWRP.
Thanks for the help though.

Since you have TWRP, just side load the rom
Sideload places the file to be flashed in the root of the /sdcard so if his recovery won't mount it then I doubt sideload will work.

What did you do to get your recovery to stop mounting? Did your installed recovery ever work properly?

just tried
C:\root>adb sideload C:\root\rom.zip
error: closed
not working, i think is because of sdcard not mounting.
theres no fix for sdcard not mounting (format it)
thanks
Try booting into recovery from fastboot and see if it still doesn't mount:
Put your twrp.img file in your adb/fastboot folder
Then:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
I would use the latest version BTW but I assume you are trying that.

If you had s-off you could run a RUU to get back working and then redo everything (flash recovery, root, install rom of choice.

Black Screen Recovery

Hi, I've got a problem regarding TWRP and the recovery partition.
I have downloaded and flashed TWRP following the guide in the development section, but everytime I boot into recovery I get a black screen and the notification led glows white.
If I use the "fastboot boot" command I can access TWRP, but that's only temporary and won't work for me. I've tried flashing from fastboot in windows and flashing from the temporarily booted TWRP on the phone. If the custom recovery won't work at all, I'd at least like to get back to stock recovery.
Thx for your help!

Ok, I ended up dirty flashing 3.5.3 via booted TWRP and then it worked! I'm just wondering what the rom version has to do with the recovery partition, as they - from my understanding - are two separate things and shouldn't interfere with each other.
My problem is solved though so thank you for your help!

phone not passing twrp splashscreen

I was running Freedom OS CE 2.5 and I dirty flashed official OOS 4.1.0 and got into a bootloop.
I restarted the phone into twrp and it told me that it was read only so I wasn't seeing any zip files. I tried to use repair in the Wipe section by changing file format. I think I chose FAT...I honestly can't remember. But when I swipe to repair and I got stock on updating partition. So I restarted the device into twrp again but this time I'm stock on just the splash screen....won't start.
All I'm getting into is bootloader mode.
Help please
Use fastboot to wipe recovery and flash TWRP again. Alternatively, directly sideload your ROM.

Thank you so much. But what about how I tried changing the format from what it was originally? Should I be worried or that's a minor issue?

You should reformat those partitions that you've changed. Ext4 or f2fs for /data and ext4 for all other partitions. This can be done through either fastboot or TWRP.

3.0.4-1 has proven to be the most stable so far.
I've also been using 3.1.0-1 for a while and haven't noticed any issues.
Avoid 3.1.0.0 though, as there has been many reports of issues with it.

I faced a similar issue with twrp , just try to flash twrp again using fastboot mode , in case it does not work again then try to flash it a few more times , it would surely work , I have already tried it , but before that try to factory reset ur phone using twrp and reboot to twrp and only use the first method if the problem exists after that

I have a question.
Why so many people ask frecuently about magisk?
I used to have it on my phones when installing GCAM required root. But some years ago, it's not necessary and I don't root my xiaomis anymore.

Question No TWRP folder

I have flashed TWRP to recovery (on my unlocked Redmi Note 10 Pro) and can access it no problem. But I have no TWRP folder on my phone and cannot see one when connected to my computer.
I have reflashed to try to fix it, but no change. I found a thread where the suggested terminal commands but I would need to root my phone and I don't think that is something I should be doing. Any suggestions?

I think you can't access internal storage in case of encryption.
Google about decryption pros cons ... if you're fine with decryption check out dfe in our forum

I read about that but I thought I'd see 0MB or weird filenames while looking at the filesystem in TWRP recovery and neither is the case. I did have to enter my password the first time I used TWRP and I have never been asked for it since.

So I had twrp 3.6_11-sweet installed. I just flashed Orange fox (the latest stable version) to recovery, and then I could no longer access recovery - it just restarted to flashboot. I had this problem when I tried to flash the Pixel Experience image too.
So I flashed TWRP to recovery again and everything is back to normal. But the problem is that I can’t use TWRP because there’s no folder installed.

So I put the phone in fastboot mode -> connected to PC with usb -> check connection in cmd (fastboot devices) -> fastboot flash recovery "recovery_orange fox.img" -> power+up
And I get sent back to the fastboot screen
I must be doing something wrong but I have watched videos and read instructions and I don't know what it is.

I don't understand. It's like it only accepts the twrp image, but even that doesn't install right.

One more idea, before starting from scratch:
After flashing twrp disconnecting usb and then rebooting to recovery by pressing power and vol+ until you'll see the logo and feel the vibration
Why don't you test the recovery using fastboot boot? My recommendation is never to flash any recovery before successfully having it started manually once.
My personal approach is, never to install any recovery but only boot it in case it is needed. Disadvantage is that you need to be near a computer if you want to run it.

Hi all, there's been some progress but I'd like your advice before continuing. I have my preferred ROM (Pixel Experience, zipped) copied to my SD card and I can see my SD card under Install option on TWRP. My phone data has been formatted (using the twrp Wipe option). Should I try installing from the SD card? I'm nervous since I know missing steps was warned against in the installation instructions.
1. Wipe Data/Cache
2. Format Data (yes)
