[q] security locked out ?

my mate at work had his cell security locked from his girlfriend as she was running up $$$Aud games bills. last night she tried to excess it & now it's asking him for his Gmail account email.
problem is he never saved it/wrote it down. is there any way unlocking it ?
if he goes to a telstra shop (AUSTRALIA) with his paperwork for proof can they unlock it ?
If the phone is stock I think you can pull the battery and power on in hboot then do a factory reset and it will bring the phone to default and then you can just make a new account .
The factory reset will work, but keep in mind this will erase ALL data! Unfortunately, if he can't retrieve his gmail password from the gmail website's "forgot password" feature, then a reset might be your only way.

Phone is Locked - HELP!

Hi,
I have recently put up a password lock on my HTC One to avoid my kids going on my phone due to the fact I had important phone calls coming.
I have forgotten the password for the device and I have tried over 40 times literally as the phone shows me a message with how many times I tried.
I have the gmail and password of the google account which is registered to this device but it does not give me an option to recover phone from my google account even though I have tried over 40 times. Is there a way where I could get into my phone as I do not want to lose my important settings and etc. on my phone.
I am not sure why it does not let me recover my phone using my Google Account as my other phones do.
Thanks!

Nexus on account lock

Is there any way to flash a new firmware to this phone without unlocking it with the account? I can't unlock bootloader without accessing the settings...
Get the person you got the phone from to remove the device from their account using their security panel at security.google.com
That's the problem-I bought this phone from a pal who doesn't remember his password and that's the reason why he sold it. I bought it because it's IP isn't registered as stolen and he's got all the accessories and original box so I don't think it's stolen, but I didn't know google introduced that kind of security in this phone :/ thought I'll just flash a new rom and problem will be gone.
If he can't remember his Google PW or properly use the recovery to get it/a new one then that's......I dunno.

Google provides a guide to reset passwords here. He will need to reset the password on the GMail account he used on the device, log into that account on a PC, enter the account security settings and remove the device from that account. This is the only way you will be able to restore this device to operating condition, so you better hope he can remember the GMail account he used to set up the device.

Locked Out After Reset and FRP Wont Recognize Previous Accounts Synced to Device

I hate posting in forums, so please understand that this posting comes after many many hours of researching and attempting different fixes. Can someone please help me sort this out and get me up and running again. I will be brief and direct hopefully including all necessary info for you.
Device is N920A, AT&T
Was in the process of transferring my data on a 32GB to my wife's phone, a 64GB..
Ran the reset it came back up, used it for a few minutes, it ran update and locked me out.
THE PROBLEM
When googles wonderful FRP wants to verify the accounts, it will not accept and of the old accounts of neither my wife's or mine.
I was able to pull it up on one of my accounts Device Manager. When I lock it with new passcode and message,
It displays the message on the screen but wont unlock.
Tried again and noticed in Device Manager it said no new passcode was needed because previous lock PIN still existed.
Reset AGAIN... No longer finds phone attached to any google account.
EVEN BIGGER PROBLEM
Just got the phone back from repair shop where they swapped motherboards with my phone and my wife's phone.
Reason for this? Originally 64gb device had cracked screen Insurance would not replace with 64gb because it was discontinued. Cracked screen was $300 to replace, swapping motherboards only cost me $80. I haven't even swapped the IMEI numbers with AT&T, but phones did work upon getting home and resetting .
PLEASE let me know what I can do. Need this phone for work ASAP.

Note 9 (India) Stolen

Someone took the Note 9 away from my pocket.
I had logged in to my samsung account to trace it.
It was showing not in network for some days now it totally disappeared from samsung findmymobile site.
How can I find/get it back?
FRP Lock
Sorry that you might not be able to get it back, someone intentionally theft the phone. However, you can file a police report and your SIM card carrier to block the IMEI number of the phone, so that it can't be used on other networks.
But before that, make sure your data won't be in the hands of wrong person. Login to your Samsung account and lock the device, which does the FRP lock and there won't be a way thief would access your data.
On a side note, I found the advantage of galaxy watch (or gear S3) which has find my phone option. Immediately after you lost the phone you can activate find my phone in watch and the phone will start ringing loud.
What are the chances to get it back after police complaint
Can someone change IMEI of phone?
Can the phone be tracked if someone starts using it?

it only can be traced if your accounts are active i.e Samsung account and Gmail account, but please note the data connection also needs to be enabled!
Did you have a passcode or pin or iris or fingerprint enabled ? Also did you have network lock enabled ?
if you had no lock enabled and the phone has gone off the network that means the thief has factory reset your phone, and he using his owm email account that’s why you cannot track it!
So it's gone for ever!
So what about IMEI tracking? Wouldn't it be of any help?
I had heard that even after factory reset if the theif inserts a new SIM card he can be traced by IMEI number.
What are the chances?

Cops can do that, track an imei using the carrier but we as common people don't have access.
I feel like you should treat it as gone unless you are unable to use find my phone,
The cops might be able to get your phone back using the imei if you registered a complaint but it takes a while.
I remember my phone (note 3 unlocked snapdragon) got stolen in a Mumbai local train on 12/26/16 & I registered a complaint and got a new phone (Zuk z2 plus) on 1/28/17.
The number of days I lived without the phone were the days I tried my best to use find my phone or track the phone in any way but it was switched off whenever I tried to track it.
The cops got the phone and returned it to me on 12/17 [i don't remember the exact date but it was after 20th], I was using note 7 ported rom before the theft but when I received it, it had the stock note 3 rom which means they flashed it with Odin since the kernel was back to stock as well.
I used the phone as a remote for the television since it had an IR blaster and now on 11/06/19 it died the display doesn't turn on [probably hardware failure but don't care anymore ]
I switched from Zuk z2 to note 9 [128 Exynos] on June 8th & have changed the country too :silly:
My point is they may never even turn it on without flashing it & the moment they get your phone, 10 mins in & it is probably switched off and your sim is out.
Hope you find your phone :fingers-crossed: but don't count on it for too long
