There is a Xiaomi Mi A2 with a broken display (it does not turn on, at all) I want to get data off.
Is it possible to transplant a Mi A2 Lite(!) display onto the Mi A2, temporarily, to use that Mi A2 for getting the data off?
I've read, the Mi A2 Lite display is a tiny bit smaller than the Mi A2 one. However, if it does have the same connector, would it still be compatible?

I have been using a Note 3 pro with android 6, and works perfect with AA, but now, with a Note 6 Pro, AA show half sized, with black stripes up and down, and touch screen does not work correctly.
I have been reading a lot of forums about it and seems that Xiaomi does not have any solution, only wait for Pie !!
All phones with Android Oreo have the same problem. F1, Note 5 pro, Mi 8, Mi 8 lite, Mi 8 SE...
Any other solution ?
It really sucks, my new phone and I can't use with AA.
Same boat as you... Xiaomi Poco F1: black bar without any icons on the car's display, car display flickering some times, and unresponsive phone lock screen until force rebooted... I'm already running a custom Rom (not MIUI) with Android Pie, so Xiaomi's 'wait for Pie' recommendation I'm afraid won't fix the problem until they decide to really look into this issue...
Hi guys. I noticed that Mi 9T Pro ambient display doesn't turn off. I thought that was something about. MIUI 10 but now when I updated to MIUI 11 Android 10 the same thing happens.
My wife's Mi 9 Lite stays something around 10 seconds and then turns off. You can wake up again by coming closer with your hands and all smartphones that I used was like that.
Is it like I said or I'm missing something?
The same here. I have Mi 9 and in Ambient Display -> Show items I have only 2 options, show always, schedule. My wife's Mi 9 lite have on the same menu , 10 sec option, which is the best, but missing on the Mi 9. Both phones running MIUI 11

You probably need to reset the previous fingerprint data (by deleting /data/system/package_cache or something - in the worst case by Factory reset)
But if I recall correctly, there were reports that some (cheap) replacement displays don't work well with MIUI 11 or something
(I didn't replace my display and did not have the problem - but I recall that I saw here or under Mi 9T some posts about issues with the replacement displays during the last year or so)

My phone isn't rooted, I ran the update from Xiaomi from the settings menu and after a bit of time my phone was stuck on the splash screen for miui. I tried rebooting multiple times but I couldn't get my phone to boot up.
Did some searching over the web and tried to recover my phone using the MIFLASH tool, which showed my phone but would say its locked. I tried the unlock tool and the phone still wouldn't unlock due to asking for auth.
The last thing I tried was the EDL method, when I plug my phone into my PC it's listed in the device manager as Andriod BootLoader and not a com port.
I did install the drivers from MIFlash, there were no error messages, but I did see some chinese text listed.
Is there anything I can do or have I been going about it wrong?
If your device is redmi note 9 pro, try this section:
