I am totally stoked! I have been waiting to see if someone was going to pick up the ball and develop some more on this build. Out of all the custom ROM's for this device I like Derfest the best!! Thank you to all who made this possible again. You ROCK!
Hello over here - will write my problems flashing it as an update latter - just wanted to get it placed in XDA app - I still hate it.
What are the actual benefits of this ROM over stock OxygenOS? The list above seems to only say generically "improvements/enhancements" but I do not understand how this would be a better OS than stock. Is it simply a proof of concept that ROMs can be made? Is there a goal?
Thanks

As with most ROM's, they have custom features, You seem to be under the impression that this is specific to the Nord N10, where this is a common ROM "flavor" to be built for devices, and is very popular.
Please do your research..
DerpFest
DerpFest Official Site for there officially supported devices
derpfest.org
The biggest benefit of custom ROMs is that they're up to date, and typically faster/more lightweight than stock. Most people have a preference on specific feature sets, layouts, or look/feel of a particular ROM flavor.
I haven't personally used this ROM outside of testing for stability, but it's one of the most requested ROMs.
If you look more closely at the feature list above, it does list many things that OOS does not have.
can i flash your derpfest over

In the bootloader you can
Code:
fastboot --set-active=a
or
Code:
fastboot --set-active=b
Make sure you're starting from either stock OOS 10, or that that's where you started before flashing a custom ROM.
And always flash ROMs to both A and B, as not doing so can often cause boot issues.
If you brick your device, although this isn't the place to ask, you can look up "MSM Download Tool OnePlus Nord N10" and should find what you need to restore the phone to factory.
I wish I had done it with TWRP but I didn't see it mentioned until now. - tried dirty flashing with the recovery that came with it - wouldn't boot.
Factory reset and it booted. I tried restoring only data with TWRP, but again no boot.
So now I'm rebuilding it .e
So just to clear the rom needs to be flashed to both slots A and B correct??

It's best practice with A/B devices, in some cases it's not necessary, but I tend to air on the side of caution and do it anyway. If one slot contains a major difference in kernel, apparently it can cause the device not to boot on one or both of the slots.
Sadly, I can not make this to work, I've done everything correctly (or not?) but it dies into qualcomm crashdump mode (also tried to unlock bootloader, which actually wipes the data, and go through the setup process to create the user data partitions, but no luck, altho I had no error message related to userdata during the flashing process)
I've bricked my device no less than 7 times already, but still coudln't get this to work :/
Also tried to flash it with TWRP (which flashes to both slots without any effort, same result...)
What am I doing wrong?

If you're bricked, I would MSM stock android 10 (it has to have that for base firmware). Then follow the instructions.
If you see it stop at 49 %, let it finish and then boot.

Yes, that's what I'm doing
Giving this Derpfest R rom a try, having come from firnware Oxygen 11, which I know is not the suggested firmware but I didn't want to go back to Oxygen OS10/regress! Using the recovery file for this rom I managed to install and all appears good....BUT oem unlocking within developer options is showing greyed out.
On oem device info I get:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot oem device-info
...
(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: true
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: false
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: true
OKAY [ 0.010s]
finished. total time: 0.010s
When I try either fastboot oem unlock or fastboot flash unlock or even critical unlock I get:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flashing unlock_critical
...
FAILED (remote: Device already : unlocked!)
finished. total time: 0.000s
implying it is already unlocked....it's a new one on me, so any ideas pls?
Is there a way to fastboot (or any other way?) unlock the bootloader. I do have a full data backup so its not an impossible ask, but just wondering....
I assume it the same reason why my windows explorer on PC is not recognizing the phone now....which is annoying and of course crucial....
Pls ignore last line, my Nord N10 5G is now recognized in windows explorer on PC, so all file transfers etc backup etc are fine to do

I'm in the same situation.
Downgraded from OxygenOS 11 to 10, then:
Flash recovery > Reboot recovery > Factory Reset > Sideload Rom > and... reboot directly into Qualcom CrashDump mode.
I don't know if I'm forgetting something.
Thanks in advance and nice job!

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

You tell me ...
FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 17.2 doesn't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash. Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time. Unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine.

Clean flash recommended.
Only one good kernel available for our device which is HardRock kernel.

orange fox 10 is ok
Just flashed. So far, so good. First observation: if dualsim, on lockscreen only one provider shown. Not such a big deal, but on Superior both of them are shown.
So funny how this device got upgrate on camera with pixel 4apk plus AICP ROm
(Night night)
The best ROM so far, its my first day using it but i think its even better than Havoc.
I clean flashed it with aroma gapps, and everything looks perfect so far.
There is a bug with slim recent, when i try to switch to last app quickly, it happens mostly when app side bar is enabled.
Many thanks to everyone who are participating in developing this rom, and to everyone contributing to our Mi Max 2 phone development.

I also use orangefox 10 but had no problems. Everything went as it should do. Check the ROM file. Maybe you need to download it again. It took me more than one hour to download.
Using it for one day now and it's amazing, only the both cameras don't work I don't know how to make any of them work. Please help

Nice!
Working well so far but I am getting a strict mode violation when using lawnchair. Let me know if I can supply any other info.
Any chance we can get a video tutorial for the Pixel?
I'm new to custom ROMing and this appears to have a different process than all the other tutorials I seen. I'm gonna downgrade to Android 9 so I can install this ROM, but not sure what to do after it because the instructions are in a different order than what I'm used to seeing.
Had a couple incidents where pixel launcher and lawnchair were fighting and there was residual icons and previous screens stuck. System seemed to soft reboot and then it was fine. Also is there a clear all setting for recent apps? When I scroll all the way nothing shows and I cannot swipe down to clear all. I searched in setting and lawnchair but could not find anything. Only thing I am really missing. Google Pay does not like this Rom with Magisk. Tried the fixes listed in the Magisk threads but no luck, just information to pass on to others not complaining about this wonderful Rom.
Will have to see about flashing this since Google stopped updates for the Pixel this month.
Does this ROM fix any of the battery issues like not getting the correct percentage left, and fast draining?
Does this get security updates?

Yes, it has encrypted storage
What are the features that differentiate it from other ROMs, other then having Gapps included?
Will security patches be pushed or need to be flashed?
I am looking for low maintenance ROM to replace Stock ROM, I just need it to be stable and get patches.

Fixed my Google Pay issue.
I have noticed that when I check for OTA update using the ROM updater , it says there's a new version and the version is 2.3
beside that, ROM is fluid , nothing I could find so far that doesn't work. During first installation the device was sluggish which makes sense. After rebooting after the initial installation everything is running smooth so far.
Are you able to install the update, or is just reporting it?
I may go thru unlocking the bootloader and flashing the ROM this weekend. I only have this phone, don't want to have it out of use for long.

Didn't try to install the update. doesn't seems right to me I'll wait for 3.2 or until the OP will update the OTA updater on the rom itself

DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Well I have a problem installing the ROM since it won't let me install it. It gives me error 7 "Do you have the correct device and firmware version?" I have read by google that it should delete part of the lines of - Meta-INF "updater script - from what I intuit from what I read that the ROM would be for another device, or so I have understood.
What did I do? I simply deleted - Wipe System, vendor, data, cache and dalvik cache - and that step already gave me a big problem, since all the Android folders with TWRP appeared with very strange names and I couldn't copy and paste anything neither through ADB nor through the graphical interface. But I solved it by formatting data and now the device folders appeared in normal names. But it gave me the error that I showed you at the beginning.
I have from recovery the one you recommend OrangeFox-R10.1_1-Beta-RMX1971 and the operating system had stock, I do not remember which, since I had degraded it because I had problems rooting it. Of course, it was no longer version of Android 10 but the ROM was version of Android 9. Which makes me think that the error may be there.
Oh yeah ! I also had it rooted! in case it's worth something!
So now I am about to update it with a more recent stock rom, for trying something hehe
I send you a big hug!
Hello!!!
ROM is already installed! I think it must have been for trying to install it through the SD card or because I downloaded the file wrong !! but it's already starting to carbure
Well the first thing I have done is put the Wifi haha and already speaking more seriously, the first thing I did was check the RAM that the ROM consumes and to my delight I have dropped from 4.5 to 2.2 of RAM a ****ing hell of a lot !!
Another thing that I have loved has been the automation of updates to the ROM, this is very good to not search.
The fingerprint works correctly and for the moment little more, now I am playing with it!
Thank you very much!
This rom works perfectly for me. It is ver smooth, battery's life is good. Fongersprint goes correctly. Wifi and 4G work well. But camera is very bad.
Where is face unlock option.. I have flash pico gapps

thanks for sharing
Thank you very much for sharing, this ROM has been my favorite since I tested it out on the 7t. Flashed it and rooted and besides the bugs mentioned it's a daily driver for me. I also notice the my 5g signal is better with the Rom than with stock. Again thanks a lot
Is there a typo ? :
Upgrading to a Newer Build
Reboot to fastboot and set the active boot slot to "B" using "fastboot --set-active=a"

I have been running the Rom for almost a day with all my apps, phone calls etc. The ROM is perfect for daily use if you don't mind:
NFC: seems to be broken,( I use my watch for gpay so I don't mind that bug) and double tap to wake doesn't work.
For the rest it has some small glitches sometimes with UI like apps reload but is not common.
I just bought this device and before I had a OnePlus 7t which I ran derpfest on for months and it is as good as on that device and faster.
Also if you play any games like COD, Max settings will be unlocked and the device won't get hot either.
QHD works great you have the selection of 60,90,120 HZ REFRESH RATE etc.
The Rom is full of customization and it's responsive
So to make things short, yes the Rom is good, better said great it has some small bugs mentioned before but nothing big, forget about the sluggish MIUI this devices is super charged with this ROM.
Also make sure to use Wichaya gcam 8.1 It will work perfect for the Rom and device.
I'm rooted with magisk using the following mods James dsp, ainur narsil and audio modification mods. All great
Beautiful
Does face unlock works?
Yes
can anyone help..i keep encountering the cant read error when installing the rom thru adb sideload..
getting stuck on sideloading the rom, get ADB:failed to read command: no error and then the device disconnects from the computer, any help appreciated.
hope developers soon create custom ROMs of pixel rom or any kind of rom, because now oppo a57 is still Android 6 CPH1701 and has not been updated yet
