Hi Guys,
I won't duplicate my first post in this introduction, my first post is here:
Oppo R17 - create dd image /data for forensic analysis
Hi Guys, Definitely not my first visit to the forums, but my first post. I'm not a NOOB, but I am definitely not a developer but I am on a very steep learning curve. What I am trying to do is create a full backup of the /data [/dev/block/sda13]...

Hi, I'm Vaneyen, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I have lots of Andriod devices, and have meddled with rooting a little bit, but am not yet entirely comfortable with risking the brick. However, I am deeply interested in Hacking, which simply means "making My devices work the way I want them to." I have (with the help of Youtube bloggers) hacked Keurig coffee machines, so now it's time to get my Android devices working the way I want them to!
Hi Vaneyen and welcome to XDA! You came with experience to the right place for modding, flashing, development, etc.!
Cheers

Thank you, galaxys.
I have an Android TV box I'm looking to root, but I'm unclear of one thing. I've learned (thank you 3mel!) that the process will likely involve:
1) unlocking the bootloader (if needed),
2) flashing the correct TWRP recovery (for that series of boxes),
3) flashing magisk 21.4 in TWRP and
4) installing magisk apk.
Is there a tutorial on the site aimed at guiding someone through the process of determining the correct process for each of these steps? I've learned that my box in question has an Amlogic p212, but is that enough to go on?
Thanks for the welcome!

First post in the correct forum...
Seems like you posted good details in June in those forums.
You can bump your last post there and maybe someone will respond. Any of tutorial should be specific to your device if one exists....
I wonder if it is possible to install root rights on Apple hardware.

Good question, but I have no idea where to ask it. You may get good results if you google "how to root ios iphone" - I just did, and there are a few promising hits in there.
Hi All,
I was bit curious about android auto support that got ended recently for android 7 and this curiosity landed me to XDA pages where I explored rooting in last 2 days and was able to root my Xiaomi Redmi note 4 SD6255, upgraded it to android 13 with Lineage OS20 by Zeelog, posted by our senior member @anandsvm. I am thankful to him for his guidance! Also during my search, i referred other guides which helped me at initial stage, like
How to root your Android smartphone: Google, OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, and moreHow to install TWRP recovery on Android smartphonesby SKANDA HAZARIKA[GUIDE] The correct way to flash custom ROMs by _Masked_
I am thankful to the members who are continuously contributing to the forum and helping us to gain more knowledge and exploring mods.
Welcome to XDA and continue to enjoy the forums vast amounts of information!

No Problemo Buddy
Hey everyone,
being the dumbass i am this is my second post as i couldn't see the introductions thread.
Well, delved on the forum for the last couple days, reading guides on how to root an OP5t first, then how to restore it to stock ROM after i bricked it trying to get back to Android after installing Ubuntu touch.
All of this, to run Home Assistant server on the phone since it's the 8gb version. Follow my other thread for updates..
Thanks a bunch for all the help, past and future.
Best Regards,
Roshi
Welcome to the xda family.
Cheers.
Hello I am Ponal Manju. A newbie to Android. Used iOS for years and finally moved to Android to try out. OnePlus Nord 2T is my first Android phone.
When I got exhausted looking for a solution for my phone I looked at some chats online that mentioned about you guys.
So here I am posting a silly question in the forum about formatting SD card.
Thanks.

Hello, as the title says, I am trying to ask a question so if you could direct me to where I should go that would be helpful

It depends on what the question is or relates to. What is your question?

"The question is human; the answer, all too human. " from Paul Valery - French writer and poet
For the sake of information, it's a good idea to post a question, but it's even better to ask the question in the post and not in the title.
The title should be precise and concise, and it will be perfect for your next post.
Welcome aboard and have a nice day.

Thank you I actually managed to unbrick my redmi 9a phone today, which was the original question I was trying to ask, I am trying to install a custom rom (lineageos) and I tried so many unofficial twrp images until one of them got stuck in the logo screen and I couldn't go to the fastboot screen or the regular os
now that I figured out how to unbrick the device I would like to ask if there is a way to install a custom rom without twrp as I can't seem to get a version that works (the closest I have got is the twrp menu but the touch screen doesn't work)

I would ask these questions in your device specific forum here. Let me know if you need any more help.
