Hi all.
Just bought a new OnePlus Nord2 after bricking my still immaculate OnePlus3T. Loved that phone.
Anyway, it did something weird for no real reason that I know of and lost everything, so I followed the guides on here, rooted it and installed the Android 11 update. It looked nice, but was very buggy. Trying to go back to stock now, but so far, after loads of reading and following guides and steps, still no luck. Oh well, it was a lovely phone while it lasted!

So i rooted my phone using the universal root in this forum, the day after i accidentally updated android and it broke the root, also i have noticed some bugs. I am trying to put the phone back to how it was when i got it in the post. i tried a "factory data reset" but it didnt do what i am trying to do, just deleted all the apps etc. Any ideas how i can do this? I dont mind if i have root access still.
Cheers!
Read my signature, the bigger link. I'm sure you'll find the info on rooting FRG83 there (because I've put it there).
Okay i think i need some help, i have downloaded the official rom an put it on the sd card but cant work out how to flash it, im holding down the track ball and resetting but cant see the option to flash anything, is this because it wasnt rooted properly where android updated?
this sux on an epic scale. when my phone was ****ed.. no one posted with a signature that had information about how to install stuff to phone without unlocking bootloader .

Ive been reading this tutorial: /showthread.php?t=614850 but not sure how to run the commands on steps 8 - 13

I supposed my post would say it clearly enough that your idea of restoring the ROM to the older version won't work.
Just managed to root it, then got totally lost, might have to leave it like this..
Yes, that was the idea. Root it, and stay with it. If you post the bugs, they might have solutions / workarounds.
Plus, it might be a good time to try custom ROM Or even customized plain FRF91 you were looking for.
Hey, i bought a samsung galaxy tab and i'm new. I always had iphone and ultimately never used a android. Plz someone help and provide steps . I feel insecure and people tellin me i'm not good enough Shout out to the haters!
Have you tried reading all the posts and the tutorials on this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933400
Helped me immensely and should answer all your questions too.
Hi,
I have followed all the steps in the rooting Galaxy Tab for N00bs thread and got the message from the superoneclick that my tab had been successfully rooted.
edit.
After much fumbling about and doing it twice I think it has worked, It is not clear to a new user if you device is rooted or not as the guide just ends saying 'your device is rooted'!
It took forever to boot up again and it appeared that all my apps had vanished but eventually they came back. Seemed very slow.
I got an app called rootchecker that tells you if it has worked or not - and on the second time through it worked! Magic! Now hopefully will get titanium backup working now! Also hope to get the thing unlocked from O2. Then get a good custom rom. Errr, how exciting what else?
Thank you

I made a few judgement errors while playing with my phone one day (vzn android 4.4 rooted) and ended up getting stuck in a situation where I had to RSD back to stock. I started over, but now I am getting hung up on attempting to root. I am hoping it is just something totally stupid I am missing so I can get it solved and be on my way.
I am currently sitting on a fresh install of 4.2.2 (post camera). I have re-downloaded RockMyMoto and unzipped it. Completely fresh file. Everything is a clean install. On the first time of running it, I get this message:
System is not write protected...

I am not sure what is happening or why it is happening, but I am hoping someone else knows.
I've tried wiping data and cache, tried RSDing a couple of times.
This happens both when I am following the tutorial JCase posted and when I am using the moto toolbox.
Thank you in advance.

So easy a caveman
I used 1.3.4 and was piece of cake.. just follow instructions. I was on 4.4 and clicked root with slap, maybe some peeps here can help you as to where you need to start now since you already began a process
edit, when you get to the download page the real download button is in the red circle... don't know why stillthisguy stillusesthissitetohosthisfile.. you get spammed like crazy but the toolkit works well

I tried the toolbox. I got the same error. Otherwise, yeah, that toolbox is awesome.
When I rooted my phone the first time, that toolbox hadn't yet been updated, so I did it all manually, but Ive rooted a couple of other phones using his tool. He is an awesome guy for releasing that tool, for sure.

This looks like exactly what I need. Thank you very much! Ill give it a go later. In the meantime, it appears your search was far better than mine, so I'll just let this thread die. lol.
Thanks again, guys.
EDIT: worked awesomely. I cant thank you enough, erecker1.
Perfect, glad to hear that got you going! Yes, it's a shame that JCASE has closed his rockmymoto thread so this cannot be posted there, AND xda-developers says I don't have enough 'points' or 'cred' or whatever to post this fix directly to the Developers forum. So here I am, randomly replying to people with this fix I made. Looks like this time, xda-developers got the hero they need, not the hero they want. lol
Anyways, cheers mate, enjoy!

post your first terrifying experience( which you thought your phone is dead) with installing a costume ROM or rooting
I decided to follow advice on a blog about changing the text file build.prop to have longer battery life and faster internet, etc.
Well that sent my phone into infinite boot loop.
I had to download the stock rom from the internet and relash.
Whatever, lesson learned, don't mess with build.prop
All my pics and videos are on sd card so I didn't lose anything (app data is in the cloud)
Installing Android on my old HD2. It was a branded device so there was no updated radio available after the first factory release. As such, bricked it.
Freaked me right out, couldn't sleep for a week. To this day I still don't know how I managed to bring it back to life. It may have involved a few very creative solutions, and in the end it was a toss-up between seeing if there was a Wiccan spell for it, or taking a hammer to the bloody thing.
Needless to say, neither worked. I don't know what worked (And at this point I'm not sure I want to know) but something did. Alas, it's still stuck on wm6.5.
And don't ask me how it survived the hammer.
My first terrifying experience?
Well then.
I was goofing around with my phone, and then I decided to upgrade to Lollipop. Obviously, I wanted it rooted. So, I went to have a look at some root solutions. Then, I dun goofd because I was a dum dum back then (I know I know) and I bricked my baby.
I went catatonic and I was about to jump out of the window (no, I wasn't, overexaggerating there) and I thought to myself - can I revert to stock? So I started scouring the forums for some solutions, and I found one. (flashing a TOT or KDZ, don't remember which one.) so 30 minutes later, I followed the instructions successfully, but - (surprise surprise,) I dun goofd again.
I yanked out the USB too soon, but...
IT WORKED AND I HAVE MY PHONE BACK
Now I'm not afraid of bricking ?

got stuck at 98% while flashing MIUI 6. lol.
for a while, i was shocked.
Well.
Mt first terrifying experience was with my galaxy pocket:i soft-bricked it with a ROM,only download mode was working,so ODIN helped me
The most terrifying with my G3:i made a battery pack and tried to connect it to my G3. It was not working so i swapped the connections(+ with - and so on). Most stupid thing i've ever done. Almost broke my OTG module
First terrifying moment is when my razr brick coz try to apply lollipop cm 12. Failure because wrong twrp...
Need 3 months to revive with factory cable from china.
1 week from that, my razr was broken... Because dropped from my pocket when i ride a motorcycle....
That's so bad......

I've been working off and on trying to get my P7310 Wifi updated beyond the 4.4 version of Android it was stuck on for a while.
I have TWRP installed and was eventually able to get a version of 5.11 installed and working but then saw that there is a later rom availble with 7.1 (aosp-7.1-p5wifi-20171005) I decided to try that. The ROM would not install using Odin.
I remembered that the original instructions I was following said to format the cache and that I had eventually formatted the user data from TWRP to get 5.11 working, I did that.
Now, when I fire it up, it goes straight into TWRP, and TWRP shows no file system at all. I can access download when booting if I need to, but even without pressing any keys, all I get is TWRP.
Have I completely screwed the tab up, or is there still hope?
Any advice would be appreciated, even if it's worst-case. At least I'll know I can put it aside for good.

Ok, after nearly 2 months and around 175 views, and no replies, I'm going to have to guess that there's no hope for this device and I might as well toss it in the e-recycle bin.
I just wanted to thank everyone who took a look at this with the intent of helping, even if you had no suggestion.
Have a wonderful new year everyone.

Thanks for posting, I was also hoping to find a little new-life-hope about this tablet I think there could be a way, but it needs devoted advanced devs to make something out of it.
