Just wondering about your opinions.
If not, can you point out why?
i don't even install it but my answer is no.
people reporting some tiny but annoying bugs. i can understand and accept battery darining but not working p and backspace letter at the keyboard is another thing.
i'm waiting one or two more revisions.
no
from what i read have to many bugs
I voted for no only for the lag and some conflicts with 3gwatchdog but besides that it workes well for a daily use considering the fact that is a early release and it's a long buggy road 'till nightlyes.
Still unstable as what I see in the moment. And yeah, one or two more revisions, then we have to see. But I'm using it as my daily. Not always taking video, I have HTC_IME KB, not fond of using data access and so on..
My answer would be no, it's not. A good ROM for me is a stable one, a smooth looking one and performance... CM7 for Optimus Black has none of this so far.
And also I like using the web browser on my phone, this is nearly impossible with this ROM, but your Nova ROM was just perfect for my needs.
i´ve got a few problems with video calling in gtalk.
and some apps arnt working as they should (eg torch).
also my rear speaker is fu**ed up, but atm i dont know whether it depends on cm7.
things like battery drain and dead touch spots probably result from the fact that CM is just a ported software, so no optimizations are done especially for OB unlike on Nova.
so, for now, "no" to daily ROM
It is like driving a car, it has to be stable otherwise you will be stay on the road for whole day fixing stuff. I say so because I don't have a spare phone - but love to try the new thing and report bugs to you guys.
I am using it!
I think that can be used as daily (anyhow keep your back up close just in case)
I do not understand how some of the respondant can you say that something have a bad taste when you addmit that you never taste it?!
Regards,
Me

and a positive reaction ) i like it a lot..it reminds me of my x10..and for me thats the joy...of having a costum rom...seeing how a rom with bugs develops into a bugless rom.i can use the phone even if i press 10 time to write "p" or if i cant make a video in hd..btw if you set on high the video works perfectly...ohh and i managed to get rid of battery drain by luck i guess...i charged to 100% then wiped battery stats...

I say No. Is very stable and usable, but have some bad bugs, that do not allow daily use for many people. I use this ROM normally, but for identifying problems, bugs and help make this ROM better. Now i don't have any battery drain (5% per 8 hours - awesome), don't have lags.
can live with it, but I us it only for 1 day. I'm in the configuration phase for the moment.

+1, I'm waiting for the stable one..
Very usable, indeed... and I'm already using it as my daily since my main purpose for the OB is only for SMS, phone calls, taking pictures and web browsing (through WiFi)... That's it. Everything else is like novelty to me.
Though as the saying goes-- 'It's better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and need it.' -- There are features that has to be there, that needs to be stable, so as the need arises we'll have something up our sleeves. That's the reason why I still voted NO.
This thing is just amazing. Wasn't really sure with the direction Oneplus was heading with OOS 3.5, mainly because of dark theme not being pitch black anymore. They fixed that and all other bugs in 3.5.1.
I liked how they fixed stock android's achilles heel i.e the lag in stock messanger and contacts card pull up, both of the features you can't get away without using dozens of times daily. People will complain they're moving away from stock but I'll argue google has been lazy in improving messanger and contacts performance. I tend to have a 6p and 5x aswell. All that with the SOT of 6+ hours. Unbelievable work from Oneplus.
But now with 3.5.2, they've thrown it out of the park. It's so freaking perfect it's almost boring. How can these guys be so freaking good at this optimization thing. It's IOSque performance wise. I wouldn't even root the current build. Well, probably will to set the sRGB white less warm but I can't believe how good this software is. It's aesthetically neat and beautiful too.
sounds a bit TGTBT. can someone else confirm?
Just flashed it last night and certainly it is more stable and fluid than the last build. The Dialer app and Messaging app are really fast and just pull up in a flick. I am running all stock and battery life is extremely great. No more Android system drain and the doze mode works really cool. Overall a nice build that i really like over the 3.2.4 stable.

Never seen, so much praise about any software ever, obviously apart from fanboys. hopefully same as what people are reporting here.

I just cringe everytime I see a post about a rom's battery life 1 day after it's release.

I agree it is too early to comment but based on last beta build, it started showing drainage symptoms within few hours of flashing. It has been more than 14hrs since flash and so far it is running awesome.

currently I am at oxygen os 3.5.1 kernel version 3.18.20 [email protected]
every time it download the 1.3gb file and try to update, the update fails.
on the screen it shows the zip file is corrupt. so I update again by downloading the file once again but no luck.
should I just download the latest os 3.5.2 in my laptop and flash it in my oneplus 3 using adb? Is there any risk involve?

Well yeah, FWIW it is a good upgrade nevertheless. Not sure if its a placebo, but I do see an improvment in dialer launching speed.
Shame they didn't yet improve the accent color options though. Simply hate the color palette they've provided right now.. wish they add a color picker in the next build atleast.

People on the other thread said it borks twrp if you're oem unlocked and you have to do the hard brick resurrection posted in another thread to fix so I'm hesitant about making that jump for that reason
I have still not upgraded on 3.2.4 (1608061823) to avoid breaking VoLTE. Can anyone confirm if I can skip this and still upgrade to 3.5.2?
P.S. Can someone confirm if this is OP OTA update or community build?

this is community build update. try flashing 3.2.5, its a factory version and people are saying it resolved all their issue they had with 3.2.4. i personally didnt had any issues with 3.2.4 but still i flashed 3.2.5 and it seems a bit smoother and battery life also seems a bit better.
so what should I do now?

should I wait till oneplus officially rolls out full oxygen os 3.5 for everyone or keep continue using current 3.5.1 until this problem fixed by newer updates?
or go back to os 3.2.4 using recovery and all?
Would be nice if people were to post screenshots of the new update. I honestly prefer HOS new beta way over HOS CB, it has the best of both worlds and until I see some screens showing more improvement, i'm not interested. Don't like what they did with shelf and the notification shade. Shelf looks like a straight up iOS rip, and the notification shade doesn't even look like Nougat shade.
I'm going to be honest, they should stop the builds all together (no merger) and just work on a completely new rom based on Nougat.

Hear me out. I think the phone is amazing. The software is crap, now the 5 is out the updates have already slowed. Not to mention OOS is always behind on security.
Now custom roms. I appreciate highly the work so many devs have been doing especially sultan, lineage and paranoid. But theres always something thats a bit off, camera especially, lag etc. Always end up going back to OOS then get bored again, try roms again.
Is there anyone else like me who has had enough of being a crack flasher or gets bored easily and has just had enough of trying to find perfection from a oneplus phone ?
What do you want to hear? Need a confirmation for yourself to get another phone to make the step a bit easier?
Yes, I hate the manner of OnePlus to not even fix a single thing, like the implementation of the Camera2 API. Sure, they lied to us more often than we want. But what company does the job better?
If you want to get a new phone: Fine. I'm also looking for a replacement. But I'm looking for phones for weeks or months, so I'm sure, the phone is good enough and beloved by devs. For me, no OP-device anymore. But really fed up? No.

I dont meed a confirmation from anyone. Ive made a topic for discussion. For instance i have a oneplus one as well ae my back up. There is more stable nougat roms on that, a 3 year old phone than there is on the newer higher spec 3t. Phones are getting ridiculous. What the hell is with these curved screens now so no tempered glass fits properly.
The next phone i get needs to be something that will have good support. Preferably from a company who releases camera sources
LAG on OP3T? wtf :0
I agree with you, I dont like OOS but i love custom roms and PA is perfect, its so smooth and optimized and their camera software is on par with OOS cam

Honestly stock is the best for this phone by far. Set it up right and its the fastest phone out there. Are you talking about screen lag or application lag?

Ah! I am defeateddddd! Pa had application lag. For instance it opens but messages would appear after lag and same with settings. Stock is better but i hate the delay in updates that dont fix basic bugs or update security.
My 2 cents; OOS continues to be good enough I don't even bother to unlock anymore. I was a Nexus fan for sure, but the 6P was my end of the line (yeah yeah, end of the line anyway). I had numerous issues and it finally got the bootloop problem that was plaguing many users. I got a used replacement, sold it and never looked back from the 3T. I tried most roms for the Nexus lines and while many were excellent, it was always something. When I got the 3T I decided to just leave it stock for a week and have not looked back. I get at least 2 days from it, it charges insanely fast, have had no lag/reboots/lockups, nothing. I would say I'm a fairly normal user except no social media really, privacy and all.
I keep a tab on what's new and as of today, nothing at all has tweaked my interest. Samsung/Motorola/HTC = never, too bloated. Pixel = too expensive.
I do feel the security updates are a bit slow and some additional OOS goodies would be nice, but for the price, for me it's hands down still the best phone.
Stock is the best rom, ftw

Sultans and PA are the best custom roms but they are not without their bugs.

I don't know and I don't care to be honest. The stable version of OOS is an inferior version of the beta at this point. The beta is 100% stable in my experience and offers more features than the stable one as you've said.

Wlan signal quality is very bad with mine.
Noticeable in many games, when it is endlessly stucked until the it the signal gets through again.
With 4G there is 0 problems, it's only this weak Wlan module, it's getting on my nerve.

Oxygen os lies about signal strength.
Here's my tiny request to the great ROM developers. Can anyone just build a stable ROM for this device? There are no stable 8.0 ROM with a pixel experience just wanted to ask whether anyone can build a ROM or port a ROM ?
Don't get mad at me. It's just a request
I flashed validus the other day from the roms section and it works pretty solid. 2 issues I had to fix though :
1. Play services kept crashing, just got the newest apk from apkmirrors and solved it.
2. The gcam included in the opengapps packs doesn't work and finding one that does is rough. There's a user in the apps section that recommends a modded gcam that does work decently well.
Good luck.
Validus has been pretty solid for me for almost a few weeks now. I flashed it with GZR gapps, supersu, viper, and haven't had any major hiccups yet. Smooth, great battery life, love the dark theme. No instability like constant FC's, random reboots, phantom battery drain, etc...just solid. It's not perfection, nor should it be since oreo is pretty fresh and has some kinks to be worked out, but since I've owned this device - other than a few hours on stock(recent g5s plus purchase) - I've been using Validus as my DD.?
But hey, we are all different, so happy ROM hunting to you. Be patient though...Oreo is still pretty new and devs are just pushing out mainly beta builds up to this point. Stability will come in time.
As far as the "pixel experience" - can't you theme your way through that? Sorry for my ignorance, but pixel ain't my thing...and Adam Sandler(pixels movie) can suck it too ?
Since it release i'm debating of installing it, the bugs that are currently known don't bother me at all except for the system performance. If anyone is runnIng the DP could you share your experience with me and the rest of the community? I'd love to hear about new bugs and if it's stable for daily driving (just want to make friends jealous but don't fancy switching the whole time)
No it is not stable and not intended to use it as a daily driver so avoid it. Btw it is Oxygen OS 12.1 based on Android 13.
I think it's probably a solid alpha at this point, unless you're happy with a tonne of faults I wouldn't avoid it.
Really strange that they're releasing this now when we barely have a way back..
If MSM drops (they know we use it) then yep go nuts.
I wouldn't unless you have a solid recovery method lined up.
Also bare in mind, you'd be downgrading when recovering too.
