aastore custom app - Android Auto General

Hello.
I can't find any information on AA Store (custom app).
I have a black screen with at the top ( url ) and (send to car)
Nothing else

It seems broken since a few days. Version 0.0.0.5 and also cartube.
I sent a stacktrace to the Developer, but he usually does not respond. I hope for an Update soon or find an older Version somewhere for Manual Installation

Froyo Car home has no shortcut options

I have found a few people with this problem on other HTC phones but no fix.
When you go to add an "action" to an empty short cut slot it only gives you the option of a car application, other application and directions and Nav. All I pretty much use those boxes for are "direct dial" shortcuts but I cant find the option. Does anyone know a fix?
New Version needed
I think that this feature is only available in the new Version 2.2.1.4
But I cannot update it, as I have a Desire, too and therefore the market link doesn't allow me to update.
I got it delivered originally by the LeeDroid ROM I have. And ther it seems to be Car Home Version 2.2
I will try to get an apk of the current version or is there a way to fake to the market, that I have a Nexus ??
Fritz
[UPDATE:] found a download for the apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932000 (not the initial post, some below)
But I still do not have the direct dial option

Google talk is not in the gapps ?
when i said good version, i'd said a version who have a functionnal talk video with my 2x
I'm using stable 7.1 and google talk video works fine.
It is not fine for me (nightly 187 with google talk gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip).
* Rotating to landscape mode gives an upside down camera image.
* microphone mute button is not functional
* The picture is very dark compared to my Galaxy S
There are also other issues with the latest "official" google apps packages like the broken google backup transport. Most likely because the versions of the components inside do not match.
I don't know who is responsible for them but they haven't been fixed even though this is a known issue for a long time.
I have packed my own google apps packages from the oxygen rom which works great on my Galaxy S. Obviously the google talk from this package dose not work with the optimus.
As I understand there is also no stock firmware (including v20l) with google talk video chat.
But maybe we could use the gtalk2.apk from an atrix rom?
It worked for me on stable 7.1 cm7
Now I am on miui 1.10.28 with owains tweak pack and it still works. I've already had long 2-3 hour video chats.
It's too old thread.
I also suffered from this issue. I found one solution.
You can find it with "Install Google Talk Video, Audio on Android Gingerbread phone" in google. (Actually I tried to link the site, but... "To prevent spam to the forums, ALL new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. After approximately eight posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!" message prevent it)
Good luck!
I missed something. I tried it on Nexus S.

Facebook button remapping for unrooted(!) HTC ChaCha

Taken from the Cha Cha boards (complete copy, non edited), this has been created by anmipo.
I have tested this myself and cannot seem to make it work.....if you can try it!
As probably many of us here, I've bought HTC ChaCha not for the Facebook key, but rather for the other 42. However, not being able to reassign that FB button to something more relevant was rather annoying - and looked like an interesting way to spend the weekend.
So, a weekend of reading though the phone's log and trying different approaches resulted in a simple application for reassigning the Facebook button to custom actions. I've published it on Android market: F-button Lite for HTC ChaCha (free and without ads). The app does not rely on any hacks or non-standard tricks, and therefore works even on unrooted HTC ChaCha/Status (and maybe on HTC Salsa).
Please let me know if the application works on your HTC ChaCha/Status/Salsa, and feel free to share any ideas for improving the app.
UPD: Requires firmware version 1.23 or higher (see Settings - About phone - Software information - Software number, and, if necessary, get an update via Settings - About phone - Software updates - Check now).
F-Button lite
Hi,
The FbuttonLite does not seem to work on my HTC Salsa,
But if you can help me , everytime I press the Fbook button on my phone (even whithout your app) it says sign in to FB , but on the other hand when I click sign in it says only one app is supported....
This is very annoying pls help me map the button !!
crest_delta, sorry to hear that... According to the reports of ChaCha users, the application does not work on some older firmware versions.
Please check if your phone has the latest firmware (Settings - About phone - Software updates - Check now).
If updating does not solve the problem, it would be helpful if you could follow the procedure described here so that I could better understand the issue.
Factory reset your mobile and restart.. when it ask for setup like Google, facebook entries.. just login at that time only.. if you do it later by exiting setup this problem exists.. I had the same issue.. I did the same and got fixed..
Sent from my HTC Salsa C510e using XDA App
well, using titanium backup, just uninstall the stock facebook apps. there are some apps with the name facebook, just uninstall them.
install titanium back up, go to backup and restore, find any apps with word 'facebook'.
tap it for about 2-4 secs, clear data first, and then uninstall.
do it again until there's no left.
and then reboot your phone.
there you are, the F button wont function anymore
dont forget to say thanks if it helps

EMUI update notification sent me to potential malware site

Hello!
I'm afraid my phone might have malware. Hopefully it's a false alarm but I would appreciate any insight into the behavior:
Yesterday I saw a notification with the EMUI icon (stylized red "UI") but when bringing up the notification panel all I saw was a green "down" arrow and no text. I've had apps with bugs creating broken notifications before so I tapped it to check. It sent me to a webpage flagged as a source of malware "d1.3gmimo.com/handpet/wallpaper/...<can't remember rest>". I closed the page and since Chrome showed the warning before loading the page I think it's safe to assume I didn't download anything.
I don't know the origin of the notification though so I'm afraid there might be some malware already present. It had the EMUI icon but that can be faked or may be the default when no icon is configured (not sure how it works).. The notification appeared over mobile data so no router redirect infection. Searches gave me only one hit I could make sense of - a forum thread with the poster describing a similar event. They got not explanation but see here for their screenshots: Google Translate on thread-5858387-1-1.html on club.huawei.com (can't post links yet it seems)
I am very careful with the apps I install, avoid all the copycat crap, and I only allow Google Play as a source. The phone was only ever used by me except briefly by a family member which I trust not to download anything sketchy. Still, I uninstalled the most recent 2 apps: Hashi and Nonogram Katana (has ads) , though these had been installed a week before. The list of installed apps shows nothing new/strange. I also installed AVL, Bitdefender, and Avast but they found nothing. (I know it's debated whether av/anti-malware apps are helpful but thought to cover everything.)
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!
Phone details:
Huawei P7-L10
Android 4.4.2
EMUI 2.3 (V100R001C02B129)
Branded by Vodafone and with their uninstallable apps - using it on different network though.
I know I should update but the update app doesn't find anything (I understand this may be due to modifications made by telecom companies) and I got lazy since I've had no compatibility issues. I guess I should think more about security.
After doing more digging and learning to use adb to look at the logcat, I think the notification might have been created by VLife, which is Huawei's wallpaper distribution service.
On my phone I have VLife 2.23.3 installed (seems to be stock) as a system app. The title is in Chinese but the icon is the EMUI logo. (I figured out which app it is by the icon and version number, after I found the app hosted on aptoide.com while googling for "vlife".)
I presume what happened is that VLife tried to download a new wallpaper (no idea why all of a sudden) and it went to 3gmimo.com, which might serve as a mirror for apps. The site is flagged as having malware. This might be a false alarm or the site might have been hijacked since my version of VLife came out.
So the app might be ok. Though I'm still worried why the sudden update. Maybe there's a central message that was sent to the app to update? (The logcat below mentions a receiver.) The only suspicious thing about the app otherwise is that it has the permission to record sound along with changing sound settings. The latter isn't so surprising since it provides multimedia wallpapers. Maybe recording comes with the rest of the sound permissions. I've disabled the app and disabled its notifications for now. It can't be uninstalled since it's a system app.
These lines come up quite often in my logcat:
I/am_proc_start( 604): [0,18761,10089,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper:main,broadcast,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper/com.vlife.receiver.PetMainReceiver] - the link I got referred to a "handpet"
I/am_proc_start( 604): [0,18907,10089,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper:main,broadcast,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper/com.vlife.receiver.InstallEventReceiver]
Does anybody know more about this app or service?
Thanks!

Medium App and MIUI

Hello,
I'm having trouble with the Medium App https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.medium.reader&hl=en&gl=US. more specifically, I cannot highlight within the app because the MIUI internal highlighting mechanism takes over.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any solution?
Thanks a bunch!
P.S. I already contacted their customer service and was told it's a known issue that they can do nothing about the way the highlights are currently implemented within the app.
Just pulled it to my phone but no problems here.you mean high light the set up at start ? What version and miui number are you having
I have been playing around a little bit but didn't found much.the version I downloaded starting in beta mode.you can switch in settings to another version.
