So ... my Xperia Z is unlocked but want stock rom

Hi all,
I've acquired an Xperia Z that was locked to 3 (UK) I contacted 3 and after a couple of days they gave me the unlock code. All good, worked a treat!
However, I would like the 3 rubbish taken off it. The 3 splash screen, 3 apps/software etc. I would like it to appear as a stock/factory unlocked device.
What would be my methods of this? I did the same with a locked HTC, made it generic a flashed a stock ROM.
Thanks for any advice given.
Just flash any European 423 generic stock ROM. I'm UK SIM free/unbranded and used the ES version. All good and 10 minutes to do. Just make sure you do a Factory Reset before flashing to ensure a trouble free ride.
BTW - you mean SIM unlocked (from 3 UK) not unlocked (as in bootloader). Terminology matters...

Thanks for the reply mate.
It's SIM UNLOCKED through 3 sending me the unlock code.
What would I need to do to flash a generic stock ROM mate?
Appreciate your help.
Cheers

They are all quite international, you just get some different apps per country.

When I plugged my device into my PC, Sony Companion wanted to update to this version but I'm guessing it would of retained the '3' branded logo's and icons if I did?

Yeah, but I'd suggest to back-up everything and wipe everything if you're able to.
Many people had problems because they didn't wipe everything on their phone.

Yes there is. You need to have a certain standard ROM then go through the service mode. Later ROMs took away that option. I did it on my i9305 and also for a friend.
Go to *HERE *
I think the ROM was a standard 4.1.1.

Is the 4.3 with the new bootloader (ie you downloaded it from Samsung) or the 4.3 with the old bootloader (ie the ROM was downloaded via this site and it said it was the old bootloader). If it is the later, then no problem. If it is the former then either you ask your network operator to do it (it may be free) or you pay someone else to do it.

Change Region with Firmware Finder

Hello,
I don't know what to do anymore. I just want to change the region of my P10 from VTR-L29C185 (Oreo) to VTR-L29C432 (Oreo) because I live in Europe and have problems with the mobile network.
I got my bootloader unlock code from the Huawei Site which didn't work (I get the check password failed! error). Then I contacted Huawei saying the code I got didn't work and they sent me the same code again. I explained them the problem and they told me that in their database, my phone is carrier locked to SFR but 1. I checked the SIMLOCK Status which is "SIMLOCK_DEACTIVE" and 2. my SIM Card from another provider works (I just have these issues like random disconnects and it only gets 2G).
So my question is : Can't I simply just flash the European Firmware via Firmware Finder ? Has anyone tried this ?
Thanks.
No you can't. You'll have to rebrand first, with an unlocked bootloader. Did you enable OEM unlocking in developer options?

Yes. The device is recognized in adb and fastboot, and the bootloader shows FRP Unlocked.
have you choose "after emui 5.x" when you asked for the unlock code? Because it sounds like you asked for unlock code for device "before EMUI 5.x".
next suggestion is that you entered wrong imei/product id/serial number. Where and how you get it?
Or anyway, where you bought the device? C185 is middle east region. And it could be locked to carrier by disabling unlocking bootloader and not sim cards.
you can try DC Phoenix ..you need to pay them, and they will send you the unlock key. Should work.

Yes I chose "after EMUI 5.X", and checked the imei/product/ and serial numbers multiple times. I got it from the settings and the secret menu with the dial code.
I bought it on a french website, but it was not a french reseller. I know C185 is middle east, and yes, I think paying DC Phoenix is the only thing left for me to do.
I read the bootloader code with DC Unlock. It wasn't the same I got from the Huawei website and it worked. Funny that Huawei themselves did not give me the proper code even after contacting them.
I hope I get to fix the network issues now. Thanks !
I also have Huawei p10 vrt-l29 and it is middle is one(c185) and im in sri lanka and belongs to Asia Pacific.i also have same network issue as you.so can i know is above method worked to you and how should i do step by step please help me to fix this im totally fked up with this this

Look at DC Unlocker, but note that this will cost you a few €.
no other way to root the device or get the unlock code? Will emailing them help? I kinda have to root my phone to recover some lost files. I dont have a lot of options. Can someone please help?
Huawei won't send you the unlock code via email, you can try it but there's not a great chance.
Only easy way is DC Phoenix, as @M1chiel already said. It's a tool made and serviced by Huawei, which is just a flaw against their users.
If you got your unlock code and unlock your phone it will do a factory reset, so all user data will be removed.
And there's absolutely no way to avoid this.
But if I'm allowed to ask, what do you want to recover? Everything you can do without root is stored in /data. If you deleted files you can try to recovery the files with apps without root.
But the recovery chances are low because with electronic based memory removed data is mostly totally gone.
You can buy code from Funky Huawei for 55$
Only 4€ with DC Phoenix and works for sure

hi,
I tried but guys from DC support said that maybe some security patches are blocking reading phone.
I tried to get DC Unlocker working but it doesn;t read my bootloader code. The DC Unloacker gave back my money right after they saw print screens from my 10 dual with 361 firmware from my operator. I wanted to debrand it to official but still frustrated not being able to do it.

Does DC Unlocker detect phone also in free version or i have to buy credits first? I am trying connect my phone but i get "phone not found". I also have VTR-L09 version.
Got it worked. First flashed Nougat with FF app then unlocked with DC

i think yes, detecting is free but actions to perform are paid by credits
i had similar and two more errors - helped to switch to different usb port to install fresh set of drivers - that includes those ones when you switch to manufacturer mode which is needed for dc-unlocker to work correctly

Mate 10 Pro BLA-L09 8.0.0112(C652)

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me.
Ive just bought this phone refurbished . Its arrived in immaculate condition, but the problem is I can not get it to update the firmware to EMUI 9.
I have contacted customer services at Huawei and they have said that I cant update the phone OTA as it has been a demonstrator phone, even though its unlocked and works OK.
They want me to send it off to the service centre.
What can I do to flash the phone to the latest EMUI 9.1 firmware for the UK?
I dont want to put EMUI 10 on as I want to use mirrorlink for my car.
Can this be done or is it better to send back to service centre?
Thanks for any help.

Try inserting the sim card. Enable 4g conection and wait 1 minute. Then try to find update with the phone. That was a solution for me.
Also, i think in this versión you can get easly the bootloader Code. If you update, It Will be so difficult to extract it.

I have tried to update with the sim card inserted, it does not work.
I contacted huawei and they said that the firmware was for demo phones, so can not be updated in normal ways.
If I unlocked the bootloader would this help update? I have not heard of this.

If you unlock the bootloader, then you will be able to rebrand it to the European version (c432) and update it normally.

Hi, Thanks so much for the information.
Given I have not done this before, could you give me any advice on how to unlock the bootloader and then rebrand to the c432 version?
Im guessing that I can then update to emui 9.1 once the normal European version is on the phone.
Thanks again for any help
Huawei stopped giving BL unlock codes long time ago so it cannot be done currently, try talking with funkyhuawei to see if they can help.

You can use HCU/DC-Phoenix to get the unlock code (it should cost about 4-5 €). Then you could use HWOTA8 tool to rebrand it for free (you can find the tool here on XDA).
@paul1777 Did you manage to get this fixed as I have the same issue with a refurb mate 10 pro phone (amazon warehouse deal by any chance?) also c652 and huawei have been no help
