Latest Lineage OS have preinstalled ANX Camera v.204 with very GOOD quality, because the Lineage OS is using the MIUI vendor (not the OSS) where the specific firmware for our Camera hardware made from Xiaomi is.

I've searched the forum but didn't find anything about the significant difference between stock camera app from stock MIUI ROM and the Xiaomi camera app from other custom ROMs. I saw this difference with my older phones too (running MIUI or other LOS based ROMS), but never really used Xiaomi camera app because gCam was much better (mi5, mi5s, mi note 3).
But mi9's Xiaomi camera app is, in my opinion, way better that any gCam port i have used so far.
For example, now i am running mi-globe and the photos and videos are kinda disappointing, comparing them with the ones made in stock MIUI. There is a lot of noise, images aren't sharp at all, color reproduction is **** and exposure as well.
Had the same feeling on xiaomi eu rom as well.
So has anyone saw this difference? Or is it just me?
Just to be clear, I am referring to Xiaomi camera app.

Any problem you face on MIUI.eu, will also be on Mi-Globe because MiGlobe is based on Xiaomi.eu
Regarding your question, I think it's just placebo because miui.eu team doesn't touch the camera app at all.
If you are comparing EU to Global ROM, there might be some differences as they don't share the same base.
Chinese ROMs usually has different drivers than global so if this is the case here, yeah, you might get different results in on miui EU ROM and MiGlobe ROM

I dunno. Xiaomi.eu camera app is slightly different from stock rom.
Will try to do a comparison test with another mi9.
It is because of different camera libraries in china rom (base for xiaomi.eu and mi globe). Check this thread:

Thanks.
According to that thread, they do use different libraries. But there's where the thread ends.
These libraries are bundled in the APK file?
Would porting the global camera app have the same results on other ROMs than on the stock ROM?

I don' think so, drivers and libs are files located somewhere in system afaik.
Just did a quick comparison test using my mi9 running Mi-Globe and another mi9 running global stock. Same settings on both phones, AI and HDR turned off
Mi globe photos are less detailed and less sharp. And they are around 0.5 MB smaller in size.
So yeah, there is a quality difference.
If anyone is interested, I can share the photos.

So that means the China dev Roms have git a camera update? Otherwise how would xiaomi.eu rom have better pictures?

Hello does anyone know the correct version of Google camera for LOS 17.1 on xiaomi MI5, thanks
using Gcam 6.2.0.30 by Urnyx05 Version 2.4 along with CAF custom rom. No idea whether or not it fits your custom rom.

Im gettin in here with the same problem. Thats why i got back from ArrowOS or other AOSP roms simply due to the fact I cant use my camera(108mp) with all its features. Is there any solution to it yet? Im currently trying PixelPlus rom...great so far...but the camera app is just...well.

There ain't any gcam mod that supports 108mp, at the moment, as far as I know. Plus, There are so much different gcam mods with different levels of stability and so much different configs available for each of them that I got lost in testing and camparing all of them. In my opinion, it's not worth the time trying to get the perfect one, especially when there's always someone claiming to have the best mod with the best config file and someone says that it looks crappy compared to his, right after.
Having tested a respectable amount of them, I find that gcams produce often quite noisy pictures.
ANX is the way to go if you want a good camera and that you're fed up of tweaking your phone after installing all the bootloader and custom rom and magisk as I am.
There are many GCam mods which support our camera. There is NO support of the 108 MP sensor but at least you can choose which camera to use - the main one, the ultra wide or the Macro Camera.
I have tested many different GCam mods - latest and previous versions.
Below you can see the pictures made today.
The camera is placed on a tripod and the focus point is on the same place.
In the picture name I have put the name of the GCam mod and version which is used.

Below I'm posting the information about the GCam Mods which I tested and which supports our Redmi Note 10 Pro in the way described above:
The Camera with the best picture quality and detail according to my own tests and preferences are:
1. MIUI stock camera in 108 MP mode ...
The best GCam mods are
2. BSG GCam mod version 8.1 I have received the best results with this config Lupo-BSG-Gcam-mod-RedmiNoteo10Pro.xml which I modified a bit from the Alim config.
3. MIUI stock camera in Pro mode
4. MIUI stock camera in Photo mode
5. BSG GCam mod version 8.1 with some other config made from Ararsh
6. Urnyx v.7.3
7. Burial v.7.3
8. Urnyx v.8.1
9. Nikita v.7.4
10. Nikita v.8.1
11. trCamera v.7.4
Just for the test I have made 2 pictures also with my old Redmi Note 7 - just to be sure that the quality of the camera sensor of the newer Redmi Note 10 Pro 108MP is better when using GCam mod ...
Is there any possibillity to use the 108mp on any 3rd party rom? If not is that likely to change?

ANXCamera is a port of stock MIUI camera for custom roms and it works perfectly on my RN10Pro with PixelExperience. 108mpx works like a charm. You just need to flash 4 zips in TWRP in exact order:
1. Magisk apk (even if already have it, without that the rest of zips will throw errors)
2. ANXCamera zip
3. Redmi Note 10 Pro plugin for ANXCamera zip
4. Some patch zip that I don't remember how it was named.
Just type in Google "Redmi Note 10 Pro ANXCamera" and you will get links and instructions
I've noticed the MIUI cam is better than GCam even on other devices (RN7 Pro). Its the main reason I always stuck to MIUI based roms, usually EU. Its just gotten silly when ppl keep saying GCam is the best even when its not. For RN10 Pro, MIUI cam is a no brainer.
I'm using ANXCamera with AOSPExtended ROM + BSG GCam mod.
Definitely the original MIUI camera is the best one, but I have to say that the ANXCamera, which is MIUI camera port is working also very well with my Redmi Note 10 Pro - ANXCamera have very good support of my 108MP sensor, also the Pro mode is working as it is working on the original MIUI Camera!
In order to install the ANXCamera on a AOSP based ROM (Android Open Source project) you need Magisk and to flash few Magisk modules.
Very good Step by Step instruction how to install ANXCamera on Redmi Note 10 Pro you can find here:
ANXCamera 190R Sweet Downloads
IMPORTANT: If you have 108 MP sensor, DON'T install the 48MPFix For R and also if you are using AOSP based ROM install the libcameraservice which is at the bottom of this ANXCamera HOWTO above.
mine got boot looped.. help! my device is SweetIN - 8/128
Is there any way to get Dual Video or 108mp modes working with the latest test version of ANX?
I am currently using Havoc OS 4.16 (non rooted) custom rom and the rom came with ANX Camera. It performs really amazing and i would like to install it in other roms. However when i searched around the internet on installation of the camera app some say it requires it needs root and magisk module while others say it doesn't need root and can be flashed from custom recovery without root. Can someone give a clear answer?
Device: Redmi Note 10 Pro
Code name: Sweet
Android Version: 11
Current rom: Havoc 4.16
Custom Recovery: Orange Fox
Encryption status: Yes
Anx version in Havoc: 204.StunningHeavenlyFugu
No. ANX is a magix module now. So magix is needed for ANX. All you can do is install a pre installed ANX rom like Project Elixir, pixelOS, etc.
There are some ROMs that have the MIUI camera preinstalled, like crDroid and PixelOS

After countless of months being on PixelOS I want to get back to Miui. Why? Because Im rather unsatisfied with the Leica Camera port on the Nov build. And now they changed to the LineageOS camera app with the newest build. Is it even better in terms of quality?
However theres a ton of different Miui roms not being posted on here. Is there a good to go version of Miui, which is fast, stable and offers good features? Ive herad of Banana rom but I dont know if there are better ones out there.

Have you tested the Leica Camera Mod Magisk module I have posted in the Leica camera thread in the post here, also the list is available in the first post?
Version LeicaCameraMod-4.7.230121.1-GLSPALR.zip have perfectly and accurate working Sharpness / Contrast and Saturation in Pro mode. Also the pictures produced from the Photo mode are GOOD
For a best working MIUI based ROM I recommend MIUI Verse ROM link to our is available in the first post of the Leica camera thread. It's perfectly debloated, very good customization and battery life - I have extracted LeicaCameraMod-4.7.230121.1-GLSPALR.zip Magisk module from this ROM.
Personally I prefer OSS based ROMs and I'm using the latest Lineage OS v.20 available from the forum + flashed Leica Magisk module.
I see now that in the Redmi Note 10 Pro Telegram group have been announced a new version 2 of the MIUI Verse ROM, but I have tested only the v.1

Thanks alot for the fast reply!
Im going to try this on Pixel OS. However, I havent used Magisk in a long time. Seems like the category about selecting every app to hide them was removed in newer builds. Also safetynet doesnt work anymore once I used Magisk. Is there a workaround?
Hey whatsup!
Im searching for anew MIUI custom rom, which is slick, fast and resposinve. MIUI14 is slower than MIUI13 so I need some advice in what to use. theres alot of different miui custom roms Ive seen on youtube but not presented on this page.
Any advice?
