[Q] Unsuccessful CF-root on stock Gingerbread 2.3.3 JVK Kernel

Hi,
I am a newbie but I want to have root privileges on my GB 2.3.3 phone, so I read the instructions on how to flash the stock kernel to the CF root kernel (described in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108) and gave it a try.
I started with the following official stock firmware and kernel from SFR (French provider), obtained thru Kies by updating from Froyo 2.2.1 to Gingerbread 2.3.3 (Official stock firmware was released 4th of July 2011):
Model number: GT-I9000
Firmware version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9000XXJVO
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVK-CL264237...
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XWJVK
Kies mentioned after the update to 2.3.3: PDA: JVK / PHONE: JVO / CSC: JV4 (SFR)
As the build number, specifies JVK, I selected the CF-root zip: CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v3.1-CWM3RFS.zip
I flashed this CF-root kernel using Odin without re-partition. Odin successfully flashed it, next my device rebooted, after which everything looked normal. But then after half a minute, the screen goes black and devices reboots by itself.
This repeats continuously: after boot, I have the home screen and I can use my device for around half a minute (response is very slow though), then it reboots.
In recovery mode in Clockworkmod, I did ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘wipe cache partition’, both ended successfully. However, the problem of the reboot after about half a minute stays.
In the Tweaks app, I managed to deselect all tweaks (in between a couple of reboots...), but no positive effect: My devices keeps hanging after half a minute and then rebooting.
During every boot, after the boot animation during the glowing S, the phone vibrates once but then proceeds the boot up to the home screen...
1.) Did I select the wrong CF-root kernel zip file?
2.) Can anyone advise my on how to get my phone rooted and working again?
3.) Or is flashing the complete stock firmware the only option?
Many thanks in advance for help.
I will look into that and try to help!
AFAIK CF-root kernels are for Europian roms.
Hi there,
I got a similar syndrom with a BUJVB (french provider SFR).
My config is => SGS GT-I9000 - PDA: BUJVB - PHONE: BUJV3 - CSC: GSFRJV8
I finally rooted the gingerbread by a manual operation from the speedmod kernel (loading superuser and busybox from the speedmod CWM2.5, then resinstalling my original BUJVB kernel)
Anyhow, did you get a clue why some cf-root do not work properly?
What causes the systematic reboot phenomenon?

That CF-Root JVK is for XXJVK, ie. a Gingerbread 2.3.2 build. This build is a number of months old. Use a CF-Root that is built for JVH or JVI.
I recently rooted my gingerbread 2.3.3 ace. Would the same method work for my girlfriends 2.3.3 galaxy s? Thanks in advance.

Just trying again solves the problem. Its more of an odin problem then a cd root problem and if you have to blame cf-root then it is also samsung based Such as odin.
hit thankxx if i helped. sent from my mind through telepathy (ya its possible)!
i was in the same situation rebootloop - so i just flashed this and then everything is workin great.

Problem with flashing cwm on GT P1000

Hello.I have Galaxy tab P100 with this characteristics:
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000XXJMA
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.XWJMK
Tablet was routed or at least I think it is. It has superuser application and when I click on it, it looks like this:http://prntscr.com/3p9o2h
I want to flash the CWM and then Android 4.4.x but fail to flashing CWM's. I follow the tutorial and properly connect the tablet to a PC to Download mode, start Odin 1.7 pick .tar file in the PDA section and click Start button but flashing fails. Here's how Odin seems then: http://prntscr.com/3sil4y
Except that I do not make flashing do not make it even to properly disconnect the Download mode and the display quickly shows this picture: http://prntscr.com/3sin5u
Do you have any suggestion or do you can notice where am I wrong? Every kind of help is welcome
Thanks.
It's a Soft Bricked
Your tab is in Soft bricked, better use OneClick to unbrick yor tab
Yes, I do this and it is ok but still have problem with flashing.
Since you are in froyo, have you checked if your bootloader is protected?
If so, you need to patch it first.
Follow my signature to overcome thread.
The PDF guide also guide you on the protected bootloader issue.

The CF-Root file needs to be the same as your Base. i.e. XXJVU Base, XXJVU CF-Root.
If you want to install a 4.4 ROM install the JVU firmware first then flash CF-Root (Download the CF-Root file for JVU) and then install CM9 -> CM10. Don't install CM11 straight from stock as you might lose your IMEI.

HELP I19035 doesn't boot in OS & Recovery

Hi all,
after an unwary flashing ROM on Samsung Galaxy SIII LTE with ODIN by my friend,
I don't know exactly how he did it, but now the Phone doesn't boot the OS blocking on the Boot Animation
and if I try to go in Recovery mode it doesn't go.
What I already tried:
Flashing a custom Samsung ROM with ODIN (nothing change)
Flashing a Recovery (nothing change)
Tried to go through Kies (Kies doesn't recognizes the device, blocking on "Connecting...")
The only way for do something is by Odin but how you can read up, the usual paths didn't work.
There is something else for solve this problem or it definitely bricked..??
Thanks very much!

You can download it on www.sammobile.com or here at the forum .... And after flash the stock rom don't forget to perform a factory reset in the recovery
Ok this evening I will try with this ROM:
www[DOT]sammobile[DOT]com[SLASH]firmwares[SLASH]3[SLASH]?download=35546
we'll see what happens.
Thanks!
