I had MIUI 12.5.4.0 EEA version and today I got an OTA update. After it was done I checked and now I have MIUI 12.5.7.0 Global, which is weird.
Did Xiaomi do anything to change from EEA to Global? Like, joining both versions into one?
Thank you for your replies!
I have 12.5.5 EEA i will now download 12.5.7 global and try to update it via updater
Edit: it wont lwt me update, saying its not compactible

Apparently it's because 12.5.7.0 is available for EEA for some users and you are in the list
So you are always EUXM, so you are always EEA Global, don't confuse with MIXM Global International

Nope. Just look at MIUI version - you'll see RKBEUXM not RKBMIXM.

I am slightly confused by all the different versions of the Mi 9t pro. As of now, MIUI Global 10.3.2. is installed on my phone. Apparently, there are different global versions (global and EEA global).
Two questions:
1. Is it necessary to differentiate between the global and EEA global firmware or can both versions be used/flashed interchangeably? For example, in the LOS 17 thread, only one global firmware has been uploaded/linked.
2. Has Android 10 been released for the Global version? From what I have read so far, it seems that Android 10 has not been released for the global version.

What causes confusion is people referring to any non Chinese version as a global version. Before the European and global versions of the phone arrived most people referred to the Indian ROM as global.
They are all global ROMs, in the wider sense that they all have multiple language options, which is the main reason they all get called global.
However, it is best to think of them in terms of the phone they are made for, in order to avoid confusion. So only referring to the EEA ROM as either a EEA, EU or European version, don't term it as a global version as that should only refer to the version of MIUI for the global phone.
Any MIUI version for the K20/9T Pro can be flashed on any phone. However the bootloader can only be locked with the correct version of MIUI for the phone. Trying to lock it with a different region ROM will brick the phone.
Although LOS17 recommends keeping the correct firmware and vendor for your phone, it isn't strictly necessary. Many users with EEA and global phones have flashed the Chinese firmware and vendor files without any additional issues in LOS. If you wanted to install LOS on a global phone you 'should' be OK flashing EEA MIUI 11 firmware and vendor files before flashing LOS.
AFAIK the global version of MIUI 11 has not yet been released. I can't imagine it being too far behind the EEA version as the 2 are almost identical.
Hey,
So, it seems that almost every model (CN, IN, EEA ... ) has had their official MIUI 11 release already.
I have the global version, and I am still on MIUI 10.3.3 and I don't have any update yet.
Is there any information when we can expect MIUI 11 for the global version?
I want it so I can flash LOS17.

Hello everyone
I have a simple question out of curiosity. I have a global version of a Mi 11 Ultra that cane with a preinstalled MIUI 12.0.1.0 global ROM (RKAMIXM). After unlocking the bootloader I firstly installed xiaomi eu of which I was very disappointed and then moved to the official EEA firmware on MIUI 12.5.3.0 (RKAEUXM) which is my current Daily driver. I would like to know since my device came with a different global rom if the use of the EEA firmware may create a compatibility issue in terms of internet bands and connection speed and in that case if you recommend to move back to original global (which now is available in version 12.5.2.0)

The EEA and Global rom is virtually the same. The reason you can't flash the EEA and then flash the Global is because of anti-rollback code in the flash-all.bat file of the roms. Remove that (usually lines 4-11 in Notepad++) and all roms, regardless of version are flashable. So you can actually try and see which one you like best.
Are you sure I have to do this? Because I flashed EEA 12.5.3.0 over Xiaomi EU 12.5.7.0 without doing that. Did anybody tried both EEA 12.5.3.0 and the new global 12.5.2.0 and tell me the difference?

There's literally no difference Between the EEA and Global rom. The MiFlash tool usually gives someone an error code because of the anti-roll back section in the <flash-all.bat> file when a downgrade is attempted. If it was successful for you, Congratulations! However, it wasn't successful for me and the rom wouldn't successfully complete the install until I edited the script.

Why then the two versions? Which version do you use? I am curious to try the global and see if there is any improvement over the EEA I am using now (especially for 5g speed), even though the one I am using now is blazing fast, but on the global changelog it says performance is 20 times faster (now this might be true already for the EEA version I'm using now)

The reason there are two versions is that they use different radio bands in Europe vs in other areas for example, so the radio bands may be slightly different. Adverts for that region may also be different. I am on T-Mobile here in the US and am running the Xiaomi.eu rom, which is based on the CN rom with Google services baked in and all Chinese bloat removed. This rom (weekly) has many more features that the EEA and Global rom doesn't. Such as the ability too use the rear display for video, which you the EEA and Global doesn't have as yet.
Well I am more interested in the efficiency of the 5g here in uk and what woukd be the best rom. I feel like my stock global was slightly better than this EEA I have now. I might format and flash it to check it out. It's just annoying every time you have to flash you loose all of your data and progress. Still on my current rom I am doing some debloating testing for idle battery improvements
Like I said, it's basically the same with some minor changes specific to the region.
I think I have to try it out myself if I want to be sure

EEA 12.5.6, I expect to come next week or the following to global
It's a fairly simple question, but I see 12.5 is the latest question, however I have the EU version of MIUI and been trying to update from 12.0.2 and it says I have the latest. WTH?
If your updater telling you that's your device up to date then it's up to date.
because Xiaomi release updates depends on the region variants (indian, global,...etc)
just keep your eyes on Updater notifications

I was on the 12.0.2.0 global version not long ago and updated and it put me on 12.0.1.0 EEA rom for some reason, I have no idea why I'm not even in the EU.
