[Magisk v17.3] help needed.

Hi!
So this is my first post on xda, so please be nice
I rooted my Samsung s8 sm g950f with ambasadii, and running magisk.
When I first flashed the rom everything went ok. The first time I entered the Magisk Manager app there was a note that said that I can update the manager app to v18.1. When opened the app got a message that the app was unsupported by magisk manager. So I flashed the rom again and just didn't updated the manager app. That's one problem, here is the next one.
When I enter my banking they use a 2 step verification system. I have to go to the phone and enter a code that verifies the login. Now since I've rooted the phone I can't use it, is there any solution to this problem? The banking app does not support either a rooted phone. One of the reasons I rooted with magisk is the Magisk Hide. But I don't think it is working for me . The verification goes through the sim card.
Let me know if you need some more info to help me solve this problem!

Welcome to XDA, Magisk and root world.
Quick tips:
Every time before trying the problematic app again, under Android settings/app, stop it and clean its cache and data. Even better to unistall it, reboot, install it again from play store. Even better before reboot go to recovery mode and wipe cache, dalvik (only those!).
Hide Magisk Manager (=repack it with a random name). You do that on Magisk Manager settings menu. After that its visible name will be only Manager (on your app drawer).

[Fix]Magisk manager 20.3 ctsProfile : False (Gpay and banking apps )

This worked for me on latest build of havoc os, might work for other Roms too.
Step 1 :
Open Magisk manager, download and install both
MagiskHide Props Config (link) and Busybox for android NDK modules from downloads, after installing reboot your phone.
Step 2:
Install terminal emulator from playstore(link)
Step 3:
open terminal emulator
enter command :
Code:
su
Grant superuser access when prompted
Step 4:
type in command:
Code:
props
Step 6 :
and follow the on screen options
select option 1 - edit device fingerprint
by typing : 1
then type in f to Pick a certified fingerprint
from the list pick your mobile manufacturer
select your mobile model
select the latest available android version
finally reboot your phone by typing in

reboot
this should fix the ctsProfile issue,
to use banking or wallet apps, hide magisk by using magisk hide option and select the app you want to hide root access from

Edit: Enable "Magisk Hide" in the Settings -> reboot -> now it works.

Google seemed to do something, i.e. Google Pay has been working for a long time. But when I was sleeping, Google sneaked in to my bedroom and made so that ctsProfile returned false in Magisk when I wake up.
A new unknown and uninvented method needs to be done? A Magisk update?

did the whole process with my Mi A3 with Android 10 and my device is stuck on Mi logo. how to fix?

Interesting. Woke up jul 8th as well with as notification that Google pay cannot be used any more. Seems like they flipped a switch.... I tried unroofing until I realized I had to do a factory reset to relock the bootloader. So back on root without Google pay. I hope for a quick solution though

I have tried this method. It was suprising that Mi 10 is not on the props list...
The best thing in my phone is that the CTS is false (for - as I can remember - three weeks) but GP payements work.

also for get fingerprint u need to have both CTS profile and basic integrity set to true (not in my case because CTS is set to false)

but here i share the joy of it with you all

Edit: Please see Didgeridoohan's post below mine for additional info/context before following this breakdown of what happened in the video.
TL;DW version:
Starting clean, install magisk.
Install the following modules through the magisk download section (You don't need to reboot after installing each module): 'Busybox', 'MagiskHide Props Config'
Install what I think is this? The video is not at all clear, but I believe it to be the latest version of riru from here: https://github.com/RikkaApps/Riru/releases
Install what appears to be the latest sandhook debug version of this: https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposed/releases (Video technically uses the previous 0.5.1.3 revision but that was the latest version at the time the video was posted)
Go into Magisk Manager settings, enable the magisk hide toggle
Select the option above this, 'Hide Magisk Manager' and hide it with whatever setting you like.
Restart? Not too sure if this is needed here, video guy's phone froze here and had to be hard restarted.
If you check Safetynet inside of Magisk now you should now pass basicintegrity while failing ctsprofile.
Install EdXposed Manager (I assume this one: https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposedManager/releases/ ) (Note: A version of this is installed while installing the Riru/EdXposed through Magisk, no idea if this version is different to that)
Install Termux (I assume this one: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.termux/ )
(Optionally) Install the following apps to confirm that everything has been successful once we are finished:
SafetyNet Test - Apps on Google Play
SafetyNet device compatibility test
play.google.com
SafetyNet Checker - Apps on Google Play
SafetyNet is way to check health and environment where android device running.
play.google.com
Root and SafetyNet Checker - Apps on Google Play
Let you know if your device is Rooted and checks if it passes SafetyNet

Open up EdXoposed manager and confirm the framework is active.
Go into EdXposed settings, scroll down to app list mode and enable, scroll down to 'Pass Safetynet' and enable.
Run Termux, type in:
su
Hit enter, grant root access. Type in:
props
Hit enter. Select the first option (Edit device fingerprint), then select 'Pick a certified fingerprint'
In the next screens select your phone manufacturer and model from the lists that appear.
Confirm you selected the correct device by selecting yes, and then reboot when requested.
Run termux, enter su and props again. Confirm that 'Edit device fingerprint' is now Active.
Select 'Force BASIC key attestation'
Select 'Pick from device list' and select your own device from the lists.
Confir you selected the right device and reboot.
Run termux, su, props. 'Edit devide fingerprint' and 'Force BASIC key attestation' should now be active.
Select 'Device simulation'
Select 'Device simulation' again. Confirm you want to enable basic device simulation.
Select 'ro.product.manufacturer'. Confirm you want to enable simulating 'ro.product.manufacturer'. Reboot.
It should now be working.
That said, I was following the instructions on my pixel 2 XL as I typed them out and I'm still failing safetynet so YMMV.
Edit: Did some digging, in the 'Force BASIC key attestation' section I neede to select a device which was similar but not exactly my device. In my case I used the regular Pixel 2. This got it working.

If that's what's in the video, there are a few errors that could be corrected...
First one is rather minor: you do not need to install busybox together with MagiskHide Props Config (that requirement was removed in v5.2.6, more than 6 months ago (a small indication that it's not always a good idea to blindly follow random guides on the internet, they rarely get updated as the tools changes).
Enabling MagiskHide is of course necessary, but hiding the Manager isn't if all you want to do is to pass SafetyNet. It's a useful tool though, since many apps look for the Manager. But not SafetyNet...
And, if you want to use EdXposed (it's not necessary for passing SafetyNet, but there might be many useful modules), you need to keep in mind that Google constantly chases these tools and eventually they'll likely get detected. If you keep on the latest versions of EdXposed, the devs usually manages to keep one step ahead.
Changing the device fingerprint is only necessary if you aren't on a stock ROM, or have a device that isn't Google certified.
The "Force BASIC key attestation" option in MagiskHide Props Config is only necessary if your device uses hardware backed key attestation (you can see if it's basic or hardware when you make a SafetyNet check in the Magisk Manager). If you do need to force a basic check you should not pick your own device. That's very clearly stated both in the ui and the module docs. Picking your own device does absolutely nothing.
"Device simulation" isn't necessary at all, and if you're using a device fingerprint from your own device it won't do anything.

Question Help Needed - BDO Bank App Says Phone is Is High Risk/Rooted

This is my only financial app that won't work. BDO is a Philippines bank. My US banking apps all open fine.
I'm on EU 12.5.7 Stable. Flashed to 12.5.7 around ~2 weeks ago.
Anyway around this? BDO is possibly the worst banking app on earth - so I'm not entirely surprised it appears to be drunk here.

Move to union bank or metro

You need to root and use Magisk...... then enable Magisk Hide and rename Magisk Manager. That is the only way if you unlocked the bootloader.

Delete the twrp folder using a file explorer app ( it will be empty and safe to delete) and the message goes away and you can install. I tried this for another user.

It is just in the normal storage, like where you download and documents folder sit.

You mean SD Card (internal)root directory? I have no TWRP folder in that directory.
BDO Digital Banking app opens but can't log-in, BDO Online app opens then close after the popup of Poterntial suspicious activity

I refer to the Xiaomi EU ROM. This has an open bootloader but shows as locked. If you are using a different ROM, then may be it won't work the same. If you have never installed twrp, then you won't have the folder.

I've had a lot of trouble with the BDO app, but I just got it working, on a Note 10 pro, running MIUI 12.5.9, unlocked and rooted. I'm not sure if all of these things were necessary, but this is what I did.
1. Delete the TWRP folder on the phone
2. Changed the name of Magisk in it's settings (I used Mi Cloud).
3. Added the BDO app to the DenyList, with Enforce DenyList on.
4. Added the Universal SafetyNet Fix module to Magisk.
SafetyNet passes, and DRM Info shows Widevine L1, and Netflix also works, for what it's worth.

Doesn't work for me. I even unroot my phone (Poco F1, EU ROM) but still got the error.
Will just use their website instead

With magisk you can hide root from apps

Since the BDO app update on Nov. 21, 2022, it's been broken again. Even with Magisk 25.2, Universal SafetyNetFix 2.4.0, with the app on the DenyList (enforced). I had a backup of the old app v6.2, so I restored that, and that's what I've been using. It only works for quick balance now, though, they disabled full access.
It may not be Magisk. In the past, if it detected a TWRP folder, that would do it. It could be something like that again, but not sure what. There's no TWRP folder, of course. v6.2 doesn't complain.

That Is done already, and YASNAC passes. The new BDO app v6.3 still fails.

Tested both BDO banking and BDO online out of curiosity. Got the jailbreak/rooted device message at first.
After i deleted TWRP folder, tried again and can get to login screen , no more warnings.
I'm on xiaomi.eu V14.0.6 TKACNXM , not rooted.BDO app tested is v6.3.

Interesting. I did more testing with it today, but still no luck with it. I'm also running xiaomi.eu, but rooted, which I need for other things.
I do notice, under the DenyList, in addition to:

There's a second entry for v6.3 that isn't there on v6.2:

Both are checked, though. I also checked again to make sure there weren't any twrp folders I could find anywhere, so I don't think it's that.

I finally got the BDO app working with magisk and xiaomi.eu (I'm on 14.0.1.0 now, android 13), by using Magisk Delta, which is not official magisk.

It works with Magisk Delta, Zygisk, and SuList.
I could not get it to work with official Magisk v25.2. It may work with the later canary builds, but I haven't tried it. Also, to be clear, the BDO app works with xiaomi.eu without a problem if I'm not using magisk. Either way, though, you need to delete any TWRP folders.

You need to turn on zygisk in magisk.flash safety net fix then You need to add gpay and Google pay to the denylist then toggle the enforce denylist toggle off then flash the shamiko module and reboot

Unlock bootloader, enable USB debugging, and then:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot bootimagename.img
then you install Magisk, open Magisk and choose to install, do the direct install.
The image linked there should be fine for booting just to get root even though it's not for your specific device so just don't flash it.
Recovery flashing of Magisk is not supported anymore even on devices that have working TWRP. You either have to temporarily boot an already patched boot image like we are doing here or extract the payload.bin of the ROM you want to patch and copy the files to the phone, install Magisk, and have it patch the boot image and then manually flash with fastboot. Much easier to just get an image that someone already patched.

Unlock bootloader, enable USB debugging, and then:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot bootimagename.img
then you install Magisk, open Magisk and choose to install, do the direct install.
The image linked there should be fine for booting just to get root even though it's not for your specific device so just don't flash it.

I don't have this device but all you should need to do is install Universal SafetyNet Fix module and hide Google Play Store and Google Play Services in the DenyList.

I have a magisk version 23.0 (23000) there is no Deny List at the setting.
Should I update to version 24.3 (24300) and hide at DenyList? (what application? Revolut, Google Play, Google Pay? ANy services?)
Should I also hide Magisk?

The zygisk and safety net fix.
If you've got Riru installed then it may cause issues.

Yes. Enable zygisk on new one. Also add both Google pay apps to the dentlist
