I have a 2013 Impreza and any time I turn the car off and back on it won't connect and sometimes it'll connect then disconnect.
I've tried the obvious steps, deleting the device from Bluetooth and vice versa. Rebooting both. No luck.

Good question, I didn't even see that as an option in the settings. Just permissions to access contacts and stuff.

Thanks! I'll give that a try
So that didn't work sadly. Don't understand why it won't automatically connect.
Ok so I did some research and found the fix for future reference if anyone has issues. This is particular to Subarus. You have to basically delete your phone and unused phones using the voice function on the wheel and then add your phone that way.

Hi there....
Picked up a Nook HD the other night. Got ADB going and sideloading but haven't rooted as yet.
One of the Apps I'm using connects to a Bluetooth GPS puck (Nokia LD-3W). I can pair the device (shows as paired but not connected after pairing/pin is completed).
The problem is that the connection can be established to the puck about 1 in 35 attempts. Once the connection is up and running the data transfer (position) is OK so that proves that the connection can work.
I've got ADB up and running and examined the logcats for the pairing and connection process. I can't really tell anything meaningfully different between a failed and good connection aside from a bluetooth message that the device state is connected on a successful connection.
Can anybody give me some pointers on further steps to diagnose the problem? Happy to post logcats as needed......
Thanks,
John.

BluetoothGPS won't install as it states that it's missing a shared library. I've installed one of the other BT-GPS tools and that hasn't rendered any success.
I've had mock locations on/off and it hasn't made the magic difference either.

Hmmn. Maybe it's my GPS puck that isn't behaving correctly. I had another device and that connected and was rock steady.
More investigation required!

I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right. Just to make sure I'll write down everything im doing
1. shut down the bluetooth device. and turn it on holding it for about 8 seconds the device flashes blue and red really fast
2. turn on bluetooth on my nexus 6 and it scans for devices and finds it.
3. i click on the device and it pairs and connects. oh boy its connected!
a. turn off the bluetooth device and then turn it back on, while phone is still at the bluetooth settings.
b1. what's supposed to happen: the phone sees the device and connects to the device right away, no human interaction
b2. what really happens: the phone just sits there and does nothing, no auto connect no nothing. i have to pair the device everytime like its a new bt device.
c. if i tap on the device in the bluetooth settings it tries to connect and then it stops trying to connect and the gear disappears
d. then if i tap on the device again it tries to pair and i get an error saying, "Couldn't pair with AIS01F because of an incorrect PIN or passkey.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I tried to pair with a different device. "my touch slide running android 2.1-update1", sorry its all i have, and doing steps 1-3 and then power off and on and it connects FLAWLESSLY. so what is the problem?
google search brings up other bluetooth problems. nobody has this problem apparently.

CyanogenMod is notorious for things not working properly. My first suggestion would be to flash a different ROM and see if the problems persist. Then you can go from there.

Ok, thanks for taking time to reply
Googling shows mixed results over whether this will be possible.
When my phone connects to the car Bluetooth, can mobile hotspot also turn on so my car sat nav can use the phone data?
Currently I have to turn it on manually each time.
Thanks

Can be done:
State: BT near (select BT from Nav device) -> task wifi set off, wait 2 seconds, wifi tether set on.
On android 6 I used secure settings for also switching bluetooth tether on. This doesn't work for me in android 7.0.
I now use the app Blue Car tethering. This checks for a bluetooth network and then forces bluetooth tethering.
This is unrooted for both phones.
From what I gather, YMMV depending on the phone, head unit, or even carrier. This works to turn on the hotspot and re-enable wifi/turn off hotspot when the bluetooth connection drops for my current setup (rooted Honor 6X/Android 6, Cricket Wireless, Android 4.4 head unit):
Profile state=BT Connected CAR KIT,*
Action=WiFi Tether Set On
Exit=WiFi Set On
I don't need secure settings for that to work on my Honor 6X, but I have two other phones that profile doesn't work on, so you might have to play around to get something that works for your particular setup
I've got it working, thanks for the help folks

Would you mind sharing how? It would be very useful to me. Thanks :good:
Sure, create a new profile based on State
In the filter type 'BT'
Then click BT Connected
Then select or type the exact name of the bluetooth connection of your car
Then create a new task for Tether On (instead of trying to find the options, I find it much easier to search)
Job done, works every time for me. As tether automatically turns off itself after xx minutes of not being used, I didn't bother setting an exit task to turn it back off.
Is this related to Bluetooth tether or wifi mobile hotspot?

Hi there!
Does anyone succeed in having two phones working with AA ? One stays connected permanently to AA, the second one is connected to BT for calls and texting.
My experience is that even if both are correctly connected when they are alone, once together all is a mess. As soon as the second phone gets connected to AA, the first one gets deconnected from BT.
I tried to break BT connection within the second phone. It gets connected anyway to AA, but this didn't solve the issue. The first one was ejected from BT,stating that another device was already BT connected (even if BT is broken).
Any help ? BT Mac address modification on the first phone to match second phone ?
Thanks in advance !
i been toying with the idea to do this.
sorry i just need to ask, even you disable auto connect Bluetooth in AA setting?

Haven't tried yet but surely a good idea ... On my way to test !
When you say that you've been toying, do you mean you get it to work or not ?
My purpose is to use a Nexus 7 2013 (not LTE version) as a permanent device connected to AA, and use my phone connected to BT, thus to avoid plugging/unplugging ...
No joy ... Using BT or not has no effect ... Phone is deconnected when tablet is connected to AA...

Deleting pairing has no impact. I even succeeded in breaking BT to avoid AA to wake it up but no joy either.
Whenever AA gets connected to the phone (via USB), any other BT connection is rejected stating that another device is already connected ...
Spoofing BT Mac address of soon to be BT-connected phone with the one of AA-connected phone might be a solution ? But not enough geek to try this one...
Seems strange nobody came across this idea ... please help if you did !

Tried that already... Disabling BT doesn't prevent HU from detecting and kind-of BT pairing the device, ejecting in the same time the phone ... At least in my situation...
I reply to myself.
I found out a solution.
Strangely, disabling BT did not solve my problem. It seems that the headunit was retrieving information gathered at the first connection...
I then decided to hard reset the headunit. When asked to connect phone to BT, I complied.
In the meantime, I spoofed the BT MAC Address, copying phone's one to tablet. Now they both have the same BT MAC Address.
When tablet was plugged into usb for AA connection, the phone stayed BT connected. It worked and works since then.
Application to spoof BT MAC Address could be easily found on the G market.
i been toying wirh aa2. 9 or aa3. 0 because of non working issues
i accidently noticed my bt does not connect to my car but aa2. 9 still works.
i need to replicate this again.
if this work, 2 phone can still works

Try using "app quarantine". This it the only application that really stoped my BT for good.
So success with 2 phones?
Do you need to be rooted to spoof the BT MAC address?

I kind of have it working but cannot control the phone connected by BT from the head unit (which still tries to make calls from the phone connected via AA).
Calls made directly from the phone do however go through the head unit.
Is there a way to control the BT phone via the head unit with the other phone connected via AA?
Android Auto on the navigation screen, iPhone connected via bluetooth for phone calls. VW Passat B8 2016
thank you to Pixege !
the method described it realy works (tested on Galaxy S7 and galaxy S5) in function on galaxy S5
it works ok if tha main phone it is conected in HFP mode
but because I have and rSAP mode and I'd like it want to use this type of conection but here are some problems..
the reason it is because I try to build from a galaxy s5 SM-901F (6.0.1, version MMB29M.G901FFXXU1CQE3 rooted with chainfire ) a standalone device im my car for use android auto in the car independent of my normal phone (galaxy S8)
so I want to use in the same time 2 android phones but both want to conect by bluetooth to the car (VW Discovery Pro)
to do that I disable via Esentiale root bluetooth proceses I found and works fine if the main S8 it is conect by HFP protocol
but if s8 is conected by rSAP (and I want to be conected by rSAP) when the second phone is conected by usb(with blutooth off) somehow disconect the sim from main S8 phone (but on the phone show like the rsim it is still working) but not conect to the second phone
if I first conect the android auto (S5) and after connect the phone (S8) rhe rSAP conection works fine
if I first conect the phone (S8) and after connect the android auto (S5) the rSAP conection not work on S8
anyway I want to disable the rsap on the galaxy s5 , how can I do this?
i solved in this way

Hello.
How to block permanently the MAC address for one bluetooth device on rooted phone with TASKER?
You are looking to make sure your device never connects to that device?
Android will only pair with a device if it's been manually paired with to start with. Just don't pair that device and it can not connect to your phone.
Androidauto automatically connects to bluetooth after plugging the usb cable. I want to block the bluetooth connection to the car permanently (block MAC address)
I don't use Android Auto. A quick search on Google help pages seems to suggest the same thing. Go into Bluetooth settings and "forget" the car.
This solution not working (android auto automatically connect phone with car radio when plugged usb)
Well, yes, that's how Android Auto works. If the car or at least the radio is Android Auto, then when you plug in the USB, Android Auto launches and streams media and navigation through the USB.
However, the phone should go over Bluetooth, so if you remove the car/head unit from the phone's Bluetooth ("forget it"), then calls should go to a headset or some other Bluetooth device.
Are you trying to avoid having AA launch at all when plugged in?
You are rooted.. just disable Bluetooth completely. No Bluetooth for Android Auto and for everything  .. kmm how to do it in tasker is the real question
I disabled Bluetooth on my 2nd phone (connected to Android Auto, constantly connected, I just leave it in car) and my main phone is connected via Bluetooth (for calling, music, etc).
That's just one solution.
second solution is cloning mac adresses (both phones have same mac). But it doesn't work on all HURs (restrictions).
Good luck

Go search in Android Auto section there you'll find multiple threads about 2 phones connections. Basically 2 phones have same MAC but in some HUR(radio media system) fails. So, there is no universal solution. It depends on your HUR.
Good luck.

Hi. I have searched several forums. In one of the threads, where the MAC change is discussed, they do not explain how to do it. Editing the EFS / Bluetooth / bt_addr file does not measure the mac address.
Changing the MAC is the only thing I couldn't prove yet.
You know how to change the mac I would be very grateful
Thank you

Thank you very much, but for you to see that I use the search engine, the last one that wrote in that thread is me.
I tried exposed, but it was not trivial, since Edexposed and magisk gave me some problems. I tried some exposed modules but they failed. (of course I'm not the most expert).
I'm going to look for how to do it manually ...... I look for it with the term spoofing? some other search term?
Thanks for the patience and don't be mad !!!!
