Is my XZ3 Hacked? - Sony Xperia XZ3 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I installed infected flashtool app wa strying to flash my xz3, usb debugging was activated when windows detected a malware from the computer during flashtool setup while my phone was plugged, is there any possibillity to be hacked? and if so, is wipping data and factory reset would solve the problem? thank you all.
Rvn.

I believe so. If not we can solve anything here lol

Of course it's possible
ID the issue. Isolate your backup data drives from both machines until proven clean.
A factory reset won't get rid of flashed malware... a hacker's wet dream.
If so you need reflash with a clean rom copy.

Lol, after some pain and suffering...

Lol, but In android even if usb debugging activated you need to approve the access to it whenever a computer going to use it, a window pop up on your phone to either approve or deny which it didn't appear at all. So I'm safe I think?

Well it isn't going to kill you, so you are safe.
As for the affected device(s)... they are scared.
Trust Windows security?

I mean, deny/allow window appears on phone not windows, I didn't allow because it didn't appear at all lol, sorry for my English

I didn't get this at all, so computer got no access through USB debugging then phone is safe right loool

Dont feel safe JUST yet...
If the adb window for granting keys does not show, that could be a warning sign, that adb MAY still be hacked (if hacked at all)
disconnect fone, go into developer options. look for revoke permissions, then plug fone back in, tell me if you see the window again?
Sometimes it goes into the background and you cant see it in time so it shuts you out...
If all goes well, on pc,
adb shell (should give grant window in fone)
settings put secure install_non_market_apps 1
settings put global adb_enabled 1
settings put global setup_wizard_has_run 1
settings put secure user_setup_complete 1
settings put global device_provisioned 1
settings put global development_settings_enabled 1
then even after a flash, if you never flashed your bootloader, you wont need to continually grant keys

Thanks for your time and answers brother..
But to make it more clear, I wasn't at a point where it had to show up (ADB window on phone), I just opened the app flashtool, I have seen it getting online stuff from GitHub and getting ready, after that it started detecting the phone after Malware Warning appeared on windows, at this time I just removed the phone and it wasn't into any mode. Only usb debugging was active.
I hope I make it more clear, and waiting your answers. Thanks a lot.

You've a virus in your pc, so fone wont allow you to connect until you remove virus ?
Deal with the virus first, then we'll probably find out your fone is fine...
Flashtool MAY be seen as a virus in windows so you may need to disable some security settings, it may not be a virus at all :O
Edit, best doing flashtool offline btw

I love you man, really I appreciate your time and help, now it's fine. I understand. Thanks a lot guys.

Alright. She has some weird program on there called "System Tools 2011" and I don't know how it got there. Right when you boot up, a minute into it, it pops up the app and a wallpapers and blocks you from A LOT of things. You can't back up files to a USB, can't access Control Panel, etc... when I did get into the Control Panel, it won't allow me to uninstall the app because it doesn't show up and there is no way to uninstall it. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? Any ideas? Let me know please. Thanks.

Download RKill and run it!!! search Google about RKill. And stop turning it off and on...that will damage your computer to the point of no return
I've removed that virus from two computers already but read above!!!
Nice to see you around little one
Or you can google the name and find the registry keys for said virus and remove them. DOne that at work manny times and saves the time of backup and format
I have had to literally roll back my computer to an earlier date to get rid of the annoying pop ups and remove viruses like that. And yes, I got them from torrents.
As an IT Tech for many years those Viruses are a pain to deal with. I use a paid AV Boot CD called Avast BART or you can try using TRK (Trinity Rescue Kit) Bootable CD AV's work best as they are seperate from the OS. Try TRK just google it and burn it to a disk. Best of luck!
Malwarebytes/Spybot/NOD32 cocktail also does a pretty decent job at getting rid of that crap. Just remember to turn off System Restore or your viruses will be back upon booting your computer.
MalwareBytes anti-malware is great but some viruses are so good that they will block any known anti-virus program from executing.

[Q] Can't get MTP to work

Hi,
I have been trying to connect my Nexus 6 to my work pc but I just can't get the MTP file copying mode to work properly. I have used the latest Google USB driver and actually it's not so bad. With USB Debugging turned ON, I see "Android Deivce > Android ADB Interface" properly installed in device manager. I even see my phone's serial no. when I type "adb devices" in command prompt. BUT the bloody MTP mode just refuses to work. It keeps showing up in Device Manager as "Other devices" > MTP, with a question mark next to it.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I switch USB debug off, there's no Android ADB Interface, and the unknown MTP entry in "other devices" transforms to "Nexus 6", again with a question mark next to it.
I have tried to manually install the proper driver but for starters, if I just select the folder where the .inf files are located Windows don't seem to anything inside it and when I force it to use that file ("Show All Devices > Have Disk") it only shows ADB and Bootloader drivers:
So what am I suppose to choose there in order for MTP to work as it should?
Have you tried other pc or laptop??
Yes, the phone shows up correctly in all modes on my home pc.
Just for giggles you ought to download the Nexus toolkit and let it go find the drivers it thinks it needs to work. afterwards you could just delete the tool. http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/

I did that to no success but in the end, I just tried a different USB2.0 port and it worked, all drivers installed correctly. Now the weird thing is I can read from the internal memory of the phone, I can delete stuff from it, but when I try to copy something to it it says: "Error copying. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected" so I can't yet copy to it. This is driving me crazy right now...
I have this issue this morning. Right click and Update Drivers > Browse For Drivers > Let me pick > Portable Devices > Standard MTP Device > MTP Device.

How to disable System Update notifications

Hey guys,
Big thanks to @autoprime for mentioning this info on this in the general G4 forum. Figured I'd sum up the steps and repost in our sub-forum for anybody who may be struggling.
If you're like me, you're waiting on root and don't want to accidentally take that new OTA update that was pushed out about a week ago. This OTA has been found to prevent rolling back to previous versions of android, and may also block some/many of the root methods that the developers are preparing to release to us.
If System Update is constantly bugging you to update, follow the directions below:
1) Enable USB Debugging
-Go to About phone and tap on Build number 10 times to enable Dev Options
-Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging
2) Download and Install the Debloater tool (this happens on your computer)
-Windows http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater-setup-v3.85.exe
-OSX http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater.v.3.85.dmg
3) Connect your phone via USB. Make sure to install any drivers needed
4) Watch for pop up requesting ADB Access on your phone
5) Launch the Debloater tool
6) Select OK on the popup

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
7) Click the top left button
8) Find LGDMSClient.apk and put a checkmark next to it. Then select Apply at the top
Congratulations! You no longer have to worry about pocket-updating your G4 and not being able to root down the road!
**A couple people are still getting updates after performing this. Please check here for more things you can try.
Great i took mine 10 minutes ago and just saw this.. oh well guess Im stuck with no root options

I'm optimistic that the devs will be able to release a root method that will still work for those who took the update. I would still run the above process so that it doesn't receive any more updates.

to add to this, once i did this (I blocked 6 apps in total, instructions from a different post) and once i reset my phone, i still got the notification to update (I dont think it would work if i ran it, but i didnt try), so i long pressed the notification, hit the the little circle with the letter i in it, then disabled notifications from google play services. havent seen it since and im still on ZV4. also before i installed debloater i installed the LG united drivers, not sure i needed to but figured id mention it.
edit: this was the post i originally used. http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-to-prevent-updates-g4-t3148650

Cannot connect via USB

Hey there,
I've had this issue since I updated to lollipop and it's been really bothering me. When I try to connect my phone to laptop via usb it connects and I can see phone in device manager, but I can't access the files and media. It just says it's charging and that's it. If I click on it nothing happens. I have tried lot of things, usb debugging on , tried LG PC suit, tried some usb drivers etc. So basically PC recognizes phone, but I can't get to MTP mode and access the files. Is there anything I can try or do?? This is really annoying issue. :crying:

Question [FIXED] fastboot.exe/Mi Unlock Tool won't recognize my device

Hello!
I wanted to unlock my bootloader on my Redmi Note 11, but I have ran into a problem. It won't detect it in fastboot.exe or the Mi Unlock tool. I already:
Installed the Google USB driver
Updated the Mi Unlock tool, My phone, Windows
Enabled USB debugging & OEM unlocking
Booted the device in fastboot mode (Orange text saying FASTBOOT)
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Is the cable good and is there a normal connection for data exchange with the phone?
Are you using the USB port from the motherboard?
Does the adb devices command work and can you see the device?

Thanks for your reply
The cable is in perfect condition, it was shipped with my phone and it works.
No I am using the one on the case, I am not sure on how it will affect this in any way but I am gonna try it.
Nope, ADB doesn't report anything
yo!
this happened to me also, i did fixed it by installing the fastboot driver
1. download the attachment below.
2. then extract it, a folder called 'Fastboot driver' should appear.
3. now, press Win+R, and a Run window should appear.
4. copy paste this 'devmgmt.msc' (without the quotation) into it, press OK.
5. Device Manager should appear. On top left, go to Action -> Add Drivers.
6. Browse to the 'Fastboot driver' folder, select it, click OK and then click Next.
7. after 'Drivers successfully installed', click Close.
now if things goes right, fastboot should be detected by now.
if not, idk tbh
