Hi guys,
I nedd your help.
I just bought a Sony Xperia XZ2 (H8216) for my mother, I want to install LineageOs18.
My first problem : it's on android 9, for install LineageOs18 he required has intall Sony oem rom, if i have correctly understand, but second problem , I can't update to officiel rom because this phone not detect update (servers are down ?).
Third problem : I try going through an AOSP version, the famous Bootloader unlock is required, problem in the service menu I have "Bootloader unlock allowed: NO".
Is there a solution ? or will this phone never be able to be updated whether it is AOSP or custom rom?
Thanks you for help and have read
Update 2021-11-28:
I installed a pc with Windows 10 all clean and deactivate windows defender, it detects the software qUnlock S1 Unlock Tool virus, it will also avoid having deleted files, for example the backups generated by qUnlock.
Install with:
https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb
this is what I did:
switch Bootloader unlock allowed no to yes: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ed-no-to-yes-is-now-finally-possible.4044091/
I buy credit here: https://networkunlocking.com/shop/sony-xperia-cable-unlock-0-counter-supported/ in description product you have link to download qUnlock S1 Unlock Tool the latest version
Install the Sony drivers present in the qUnlock folder
Launch qUnlock enter your username obtained after the purchase of credit made a check credits, if error you must wait for your account to be set up, when your account is operational, click SIM Unlock and follow the qUnlock instructions (switch the phone to flash mod)
When the process is finished check if Bootloader unlock allowed is passed to yes and if in your qUnlock folder you have a backup folder with a folder of your IMEI with the backup files of your phone, it may be that your phone network no longer works, execute the Sony procedure to unlock the bootloader: https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader
Restart your phone you have the information that your bootloader is unlocked, if you still do not have a network go back to qUnlock and click on WriteBackup (switch the phone to flash mod). You will need to find your network and keep your bootloader unlocked.
I then install the newer version of the oem rom (for me, the 52.1.A.0.618) with FlashTool from Sony: https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/flash-tool
Finally, install LineageOs 18.1 by following the instructions here:https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/akari/install

First, let identify which one your device is.
Try to turn on NFC, if it's doesn't want to turned on, then it's Probably Japan/Carrier specific version with Global Firmware.

I tried to activate the NFC it seems to work, I take screenshots.
But in fact in the NFC options there is "Osaifu-Keitai" which is the mobile wallet in Japan.
I am looking for the build installer, it is indeed a "Japanese" version (52.0.D.5.298) https://xpericheck.com/702SO
Thanks for help me

Hi,
I just did it, it works the bootloader unlock is go to yes but i no longer have a mobile network, the sim card is detecting and pin is required, but no network.
If you think switching to another rom will work, the next steps are:
- install an AOSP version (android 10 or 11? for installing lineageOs 18.1) by doing the sony procedure to unlock bootloader
- install TWRP
- install lineageOs
You confirm to me that this is the correct procedure?
And question I have to save the DRM keys
Thanks for your time and help

If yes, after unlocking bootloader, restore backup using that software.

I don't understand,
the Sony XZ2 I think it's a phone that comes from Japan, I don't have the history
My sim card for testing is European, and the phone will be used in Europe.

Yes I have backup
So I do the sony procedure to unlock the bootloader, and after I restore the qUnlockTool backup?
I would keep the bootloader unlocked, and the network will work again?
Sorry for maybe silly questions
Thank you

[Q] Does MoKee ROM requires Unlock Bootloader?

I am not allowed to post on MoKee thread so I will post my question here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761807
I am not a newbie and have been following XDA for 6 different devices and more than 5 years. But I just didn't post enough.
I am currently on SONY Xperia ZR (C5502) 4.4.2 (rooted). I have been trying to flash MoKee 4.4x for the past few weeks but in vain. I bricked my device few time already by trying and have to revital it with all kind of tools (Flashtool, Sony Update Service, fastboot).
I guess now my question is - "Does MoKee ROM requires Unlock Bootloader?" In the last post of that thread, someone said that it MUST be Unlock Bootloader. Is that true? The only reason I care so much about this is because I screwed up my device every time I unlocked it.
I was using the "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY" method.
I am currently using 10.5.A.0.230.
Your answer will be really appreciated.

Yes just like any other rom out there you will need an unlocked bootloader. The reason is because you have to flash a custom recovery such as CWM and to do that you need to unlock your bootloader. I recommend unlocking you bootloader using flashtool instead of the command. Because it is just easier. When I was trying to unlock my bootloader I experienced problems doing it the way with the cmd. And what problems does it give you after unlocking and how does it screw your device? Thanks!!
PS: Try flashing a custom recovery because maybe your bootloader is already unlocked.:good:

I have installed -=[XZDualRecovery]=- with locked bootloader, so I don't think the reason is about the flashing of the recovery, maybe is something related with kernel flashing. but I'm not sure.

Yes, I have confirmed that it REQUIRES Unlock Bootloader to install MoKee.
I unlocked my bootloader with Flashtool this time, instead of commend line this time. That fixed the problem I used to have.
But I used the CWM comes with XZDualRecovery to install MoKee 4.4.4. It works out fine.

[Q] Z1 c903 Bootloader locking. Help!

Hello all! Im new in xda forum, so i will be greatefull if you help me with my Sony Z1 phone. I have Z1 c903 on android 5.0.2., and I was mad on sony becouse they didnt make update to 5.1, so i was looking on forum how to root and install some custom rom and make my phone updated. So i find on some thread that i should unlock bootloader, and i followed instructions and unlocked it, but without making some backup or anything else. So i have seen that there is official update for sony and i want to get back to lock bootloader. But when i enter flashtool and enter "blu" i click on relock bootloader, and start phone type *#*#service#*#* it say that my bootloader is still unlocked. How should i get back to locked bootloader or make official update to 5.1. Please make it more clear becouse i am pretty noob for android development and rest. Also i want to add that i have not rooted my phone or install some custom rom or other, i just have unlock bootloader and thats all. Could i get back my "DRM keys" and could i get back my ofiicial android. Thanks in advance.

[GUIDE] How to unlock bootloader of P7 L10 in 2018 (Without Huawei unlock or paying)

I have attached my unlocking software, if you are still on android kitkat you can immediately unlock and if youre on android 5.0 or 5.1.1 the software will help you downgrade, once you have unlocked the bootloader you can upgrade back to the new software.
Thanks, working trough it on *nix atm, i tried the method described to unlock the bootloader officially, or so i thought, the method has been removed from the Huawei web site. Registering an account was required to obtain the unlock code but this resulted in me having to editing the page to add my country number as the country was not listed to get the sms unlock code.... At the moment i am preparing to hack the device but have not currently found the file for the B856 firmware it's running. I do not want to for example downgrade the baseband, the baseband will need to be hacked a little bit in order to get Android 7.x, i believe is the case.
Rooted my system and backed up all the partitions. Everything but userdata that is,

This software is for the p7-l10 so im not sure if it will work for l12 but it may work, just download it, connect your phone via a usb cable, run the bat file and then choose the option you want from the listed options (unlocking bootloader)
As I can root the huawei p7-l12 the apps to perform this procedure are automatically blocked, I mention it because in the executable root appears necessary.
Hi, I can confirm that this method works for the huawei p7-l12.

Hey, I've tried to get my code but it doesn't work. I have already downgraded and when I open the Get_bootloader_code file and choose the choice 4, it says press enter to continue, I press enter and nothing happens. BUT if I disconnect the device it says step 2 where you have to type your code and press enter. Thing is, I got no code! Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong and thanks in advance!

So I am stuck with this at the moment. To unlock the bootloader, I need to have the phone rooted. And to be able to unroot, I need to have an unlocked bootloader.
I already tried to downgrade back from 5.1.1 to a lower version, but I was not succesfull.
How can I get an unlocked, rooted P7?
That is nice, thanks.
Howeever I need to get back to 5.1.1, while keeping it unlocked/TWRPed, will OTA work, or i need to do incremental flash through TWRP? As i understand doing it by UPDATE.APP would lock the bootloader again?
EDIT: never fk mind.
You know what... DC Unlock really gives you the code for 4€, and it takes 60 seconds.
So after 5 hours of downloading and flashing roms, now I suddenly have TWRP and Magisk after 5 minutes and easy instructions. Couldn't recommend more.

Help regarding knowing my device in current state

I bought a used xz2 and I just found out that it was running stock aosp pie build with no of Sony's apps. I restarted it and I got a boot message that my device can't be checked for software corruption, please lock boatloader. After boot up, I checked oem unlocking in developer setting and it wasn't there at all.
What I need to know is :
Is the boatloader unlocked?
Are DRM keys lost?
What firmware I'm on ? Is it the Google's beta pie ( which the owner told me) or is it custom firmware?
Thanks

I flashed latest stock firmware and on boot up it asked for the previous pin/google account. I tried the one I had on the aosp rom but it wasn't right. I tried to contact the seller but he isn't replying. I tried booting up twrp and it did work ( I believe that this means that the boatloader is unlocked). now, I believe that I can no longer use the device unless I flash a custom rom ?
or is there a way to bypass the FRP ?

First, keep your code (on several places, even printed on the paper), it is good for relocking/unlocking (you never know, some actions may lock the Bootloader back) for the lifetime of your phone.
You don't want to go buying the same thing again
Assuming you know how to enable OEM Unlock in Developer's menu and you are a little familiar with Fastboot, it is simple to unlock the Bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem unlock <your code>
If not familiar, and if not clear as below, search on Google how to:
- enable Developer menu by clicking 7 times to the build number in Settings/About
- enable OEM unlock in Developer menu
- install "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" to Windoze (smallest, self containing package with everything for ADB and Fastboot)
- reboot to Fastboot: keep pressing Vol-, then Pow button
Unlocking Bootloader triggers hard-reset, wiping also Internal memory. Backup as much as you can - use Google account, HiSuite, WA own chat backup, copy DCIM to PC, Contacts can be exported to vcard file, etc
Rebranding to AL10c00, upgrading to b540 Oreo, applying the neccesary Network patch to make SiM card(s) working - all is in deep details explained in the OP posts:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rebrand-update-tool-hwota7-p9-eva-t3820849
Read two times before you start, and keep the instructions opened on the PC while doing - wrong moves can cause (soft) bricks

Thank you, Brother, I have done all procedure and my device is now at Oreo, Build EVA-AL10 8.0.0.540(C00).
After doing all the required steps I have flashed Huawei's Official Recovery and enabled OTA, after that I have received an OTA update of 3 MB, Should I install the update or not?

It is safe, just some Patch02 (never found exactly what for).
If you don't mind, you can skip (you can disable OTA - see in OP)
If you go for, you must first flash back the stock Recovery, hence not having TWRP. Not sure anymore, maybe also stock Ramdisk, hence not Magisk
Patch02 will not affect Network Patch or Face Unlock (cool add-on, see OP)
If you didn't apply Network patch yet, etc - then accept Patch02 and continue with OP instructions.
If you already rooted by Magisk, then don't bother with Patch02, too much trouble preparing clean sheet for OTA and rooting again

I have already applied Network Patch, See my both SIM is working.
Right now I don’t need Root so I'm skipping Magisk.
I just want to disappear the update available Notification, if the update is Safe I'll go for it.

I'm from Bangladesh, some Operator in our country introduced VoLTE.
It seems there is an option called VoLTE after upgrade to Oreo. Is it really works?

Nope, VoLTE does not work.
Everything else, like location sharing and Ok Google are fixed with Network patch, but not VoLTE.
The guy who did the whole majestic work went tired (although he believed he was close to fix VoLTE) and gave up. Later he upgraded to newer Huawei devices with Pie, etc, and eventually moved away from XDA

It's not possible to remove the warning on booting "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" (IMO, it must have been commented somewhere in the OP) - that's price for the unlocked Bootloader.
But you must not relock Bootloader - it would trigger Hard reset, removing Network patch (even worse, it could also cause soft brick if TWRP or Magisk are installed)
15 credits for unlock in fastboot mode (not pay over sms)
