I live in VietNam, i use a HTC ONE AT&T, I have to unlock Sim to use in VietNam.
Before, i unlocked bootloader and flash a rom cook.
Today, i want update Lastest Firmware of Android 4.4 ( I using a version Firmware of Android 4.3 )
I flash Stock Recovery of ATT, locked bootloader, Run RUU RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3_Radio_4A.19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2
After, i go to Setting > ATT software update > check for Update, but it say : "no update is available for your device at this time. your device will automatically check for an update within the next 48 hours"
Everyone please say to me how to update lastest firmware but not S-Off (my device S-ON).
Send to me a file or link to download lastest Firmware.
i download darkboot_att_4.18.502.7.zip from a Post's member, but when i flash firmware : fastboot flash zip darkboot_att_4.18.502.7.zip
Ít say: Fail
Thanks you !
I have a Hongkong version H8296, and the phone is not boot unlocked.
I downloaded a France oreo 11.51 firmware from xpericheck.com and flashed my phone using newflasher.
The phone can work, but has two issues:
1. the oem unlocking option is grayed, but this option is enabled in my original Hongkong firmware;
2. I tried to get update to Pie by OTA, the firmware is downloaded, and installation is started, but failed at the end of first stage (there are 3 stages)
No further information was showed for this error.
Is this normal or are there some issues in the downloaded firmware?
Thank you very much.
Doing hours and hours of research and fact digging, I guess either I've read the wrong things, or haven't found the right thing to read, but my question seems simple enough.
My Phone: AT&T LG V40 Thinq
Software Version: V405UA10n
Android Version: 8.1.0
Kernel Version: 4.9.65
Build Number: OPM1.171019.026
Android Security Patch: March 1st, 2019
There appears to be no known root for this device, I actually paid OneClickRoot to root my phone, and received a refund just as fast. In my looking around, I noticed that you have to have an unlocked bootloader to be able to root your phone, now with this being said, the European model: EU LMV405EBW does have the availability of an unlocked bootloader and the availability of root.
I downloaded the kdz of the EU LMV405EBW and before I go jackin everything up, I want to know if it's at all possible or "just a given" that since the phone can be unlocked, will my US AT&T sim card work in the unlocked EU version of the phone...?

AFAIK, i still not find any dll and lgup which compatible with lg v40.. it makes me sad since i still not be able to flash the phone which stuck in december 2018 security patch (HK version). So, we might have to wait until someone comes up with an idea which i doubt they will cause this phone is soo underrated.

I had a similar situation, I had a lm-405ua that I wanted to flash to a TW 405ebw firmware. I used the information from https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/guide-lgup-root-t3967858 and all went fine.

Hi. I'm having the AT&T version (LM-V405UA). Can I cross-flash firmware on this model? If so, what kind of firmware (name, type) should I need to pay attention to? Thanks.

You can read the link above I provided on info regarding cross-flashing using LGUP.
In terms of what you flash, what is the problem you are trying to solve by flashing a different firmware? In my case I wanted a regional firmware that supported voice over wifi with my telco.
Hello guys.
So I recently got a phone that's stuck with the August 2021 security patch. I wanna flash the latest software so had 2 questions:
1. Should I flash the most recent software update or considering I've never actually updated my phone, should I flash all the previous updates from August first before I flash the latest one.
2. I wanted to know if anyone has experience flashing SM-G998U1 firmware on a SM-G998U phone. I heard you can flash "U1" or carrier unlocked firmware on a "U" or carrier locked phone. Just that you'd lose all your data. I have an SM-G998U locked to Verizon and since I'm not in the US Verizon says they can't unlock it for me. So my only option is to flash new firmware updates. But I can't for the life of me find any Verizon SM-G998U firmware from after August 2021 (that's my latest security patch) online. So wanted to hear from anyone with experience that's flashed "U1" firmware on a "U" phone.
Flashing FW is no solution to unlock phones.

I'm not trying to unlock my phone. It's usable cause it doesn't reject simcards. Just denies me OTA updates. All I want is new software.
Is there another option apart from flashing new firmware if I want to update it? I'd love to unlock the phone but all the websites keep talking about generating codes. My phone doesn't request a code. And I can still use it. If there isn't another option for unlocking, can you assist with the questions I've asked?
Fine to flash new firmware to get the latest.
1. If you flash complete FW using Odin, you can flash the latest, no need to flash intermediate updates.
2. Did you search the forum yourself? See following thread for FW versions of the US-devices: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...s-and-flashing-discussion-here.4220111/unread

Thanks so much for all the help Yeah I've seen that thread before. But only firmware available until November 2021. Nothing after. So think I'll try the U1 to U option for now.
I noticed that there's actually a newer firmware for SOV37 (https://www.au.com/information/notice_mobile/update/update-20200330-03/) than the one in XperiFirm.
I believe it's Android 10 update and you can only acquire it through the software update with the bootloader locked.
Does anyone here have it?
