Hope the Global version at least has it, the exposure the Pocophone received for not having it should have made them realize

It's the principal of the situation, a 1080p panel limited to 540p is ridiculous, it may only be for certain apps such as Netflix or Amazon Prime but still...

Good news. A french guy who got a hold of the Mi 9 has confirmed it has Widevine L1 support!

This was never a issue or deal breaker for me (and I assume many others), but that is good news! For me, the only feature the phone lacks that I really wanted was an SD card, but such is life and I am sure I can set up one of the cloud storage options to pretty much do the same thing having the SD card would/did do.

My Transparent 8GB/256GB is L3 with MIUI 10.2.25.0

Widevine L1 seems to be only on the EEA version (Europe).

The thing is, the higher resolutions on Netflix also have the highest bitrate, and the bitrate will be noticeable even at those sizes.

Hi, i have MI9 stock global, but unlocked bootloader, and on the APP Drm Info, it show L3 Security Level. Is it ok ?
I can't watch Netflix HD.

I'm a huge fan of DBrand skins and have been using them on my last 5 phones. I do not like cases, I find allmost all of them to bulky but the smartphones these days have such a premium look that I definitely need some kind of protection. For me, a skin is a great solution.

How get 4g+ | 4.5g on K20 Pro ?

HI guys, anybody find a way for 4.5g on the k20 pro ?

I think that depend on the network provider.
I have Mi9t pro Vodafone carrier, and sometimes i get 4g+ signal on statusbar.

I'm not convinced it's possible on the Mi 9.
If you read the thread you'll see that people have messed up their radio trying it and lost network connectivity. If I had the Mi 9 I wouldn't consider that guide for a second. Looks like a sure way to screw up the phone.

On the stock miui10 I get 4g+ all the time on the Portuguese meo network carrier, no mods.

I got 4G+ at most of the places I have travelled in my country India

In UK 4g+ is when You downloading something bigger. When is only in standby or low speed nessesary is only 4g. Is no reason to be with carrier aggregation all time.

It depends on provider/subscription but also on your CA capabilities as negotiated by firmware.
Maybe if you have Chinese firmware, Carrier aggregation would not work in the West

Your carrier will need to support it. Sometimes, carrier purposely disable CA during peak hours. You can check whether it detects the secondary serving in 4636 mode.

Where did you bought new Mi8 SE ?

oh from aliexpress it was really cheap

i bought 3 of them cause it was so cheap dude, brand new and works great.
only the chinese rom annoys me.
im gonna try the mi site tutorial seems like it works.

but they have the mi 9 and mi 9se
mi 9 for 130$ mtk helio cpu
or the mi 9 se snapdragon 720 for 180$
i bought the mi 8se for around 180-190$

To be honest, used have Mi8 SE and it was best "pocket size" phone I ever have so was about to get it again. Might consider 9SE

Question Mi 11 Ultra on xiaomi.eu 12.5.10 won't update FlipBuds Pro

I'm running a Mi 11 Ultra on xiaomi.eu 12.5.10, it's a nice experience. To make it nicer I have some Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro that arrived today.
The Mi 11 Ultra recognises the FlipBuds and I can get the special config screen: accessed via a notification rather than the popup window or via bluetooth settings.
However this config area for the FlipBuds does not allow firmware updating from 6.5.5.6 to the new firmware, it is just telling me that I'm up to date.
Any suggestions? I'd prefer to not download a chinese app but will if I have to, but where do I even get that app and what is it?

Sorted it with Xiao AI app and translating a tiny bit of Chinese.
Firmware updated and then uninstalled the app.
There are significant improvements in this firmware. Overall the active and passive noise cancellation with these is incredible.

I agree with you, the update takes the buds to another level.

Why not update to the latest stable ?
