Question Vivo X70 pro or X60T pro plus - Vivo X60 Pro+

Hi,
I currently own the Vivo X51 and am pretty happy, but wanted to upgrade because the phone goes to my daughter.
I wanted to stick with Vivo and saw on "trading Shenzhen" that they have both phones mentioned in the headline for nearly the same price. The specs are nearly identical, so for wihich one should I go? By the way, I am living in Germany - any restrictions here?
My main goal in upgrading is photography performance.
Thanks for your help and comments.

The camera on the x60 pro plus is much better than the x70 pro and so is the performance sd888 is a flagship chip in comparison to the one on x70 which is an Exynos 1080 or the dimensity 1200 which differs across regions. Both of which are upper mid-range chipsets
If you are looking for a premium flagship feel go for the x60 pro plus but if u want more battery life the x70 pro is better
Overall it depends on your needs
If u value a killer camera and performance more than the battery life then it's the x60 pro plus
X70 pro has a better battery and some might argue that the dimensity 1200 is more than enough for the normal usage scenario the sd 888 is a chip which runs a but hotter than normal sd chipsets
But after using the x60 pro plus for a month I haven't faced any situation wherein the phone throttled hard nor became too hot to touch it has impressive thermal management in comparison to the other sd 888 phones

Hi,
I am now proud owner of the X60t pro plus. Great device. The only Thing which bothers me is the fact that in Video mode you get in 4k and FHD 60p not the 5x camera.
Or is it just me?

Congratulations on the purchase
I am currently running the funtouch 12 global
And I can access 8k and 4k60 using the 5x but I think they digitally crop in for that zoom ranges
And when using the pro video mode
The 5x only allows 1080p so I think everyone's having the same issue
And I dnt think they wud address it using updates or anything as it would probably be a hardware limitation on the sensor front used for optical 5x lens on the x60

What is pro Video mode? I don't have this. And why so you think the 5x in 4k is a crop, don't they Show you the Icon Like in 1080?
Btw, Mine is running in Origin OS

Hello again. Nobody else has this issue?

9t pro camera vs realme x2 camera, what's better?

So I'm nearly going to bite the bullet and get a 9t (maybe just in new year...)
And then I start seeing stuff on the realme x2... Now I would rather have 9ts popup selfy than the tear drop, privacy concerns and aesthetics....
But the 90hz screen on the x2 has also intrigued me...
But I'm also really buying the phone for the cameras as well. I do YouTube videos and I'm looking for a phone with decent cameras. Trouble is I struggle to find good comparisons between these phones apart from a couple of side by side YouTube video, and the authors don't even talk about what's better where.
So has anyone really done a proper comparison? What camera does better colour accuracy? What's getting better detail and light?
The MP value on both phones is bogus as they're advertising the software upscaling value and not the sensors native resolution... Does anyone know what they really are?
And is the 90hz really that much better?
I'm still leaning towards the 9t pro, but should I?
Compared to 9T Pro, X2 Pro camera has lower noise at night mode, and better dynamic range (both in HDR mode or not).
But it has less contrast, which can be affected to the details even with that big 64MP resolution.
The color production for me is way more natural at X2 Pro, 9T Pro got over-saturated mostly, but that's matter of choice though.
The ultra-wide mode on X2 Pro already has AF on it (unlike 9T Pro, which still using fixed focus).
Also, don't forget about macro lenses on the X2 Pro too.
> And is the 90hz really that much better?
Yes, it's like night and day. it feels way more smoother than regular 60Hz display.
Well it's not actually usable at gaming scene, but it's still satisfying to use at daily cases.
For camera i prefer 9T. Because Xiaomi doing really awesome tweaks in cameras, dxo mark of 9T is greater than pixel 3.
Xiaomi really improved a lot in camera, also in OS updates ...
I was on the same boat as you, before I chose to pick Mi 9T Pro over Realme X2 Pro, and I've tried both phone up-close before I made my decision. Anyway here is purely my opinion on both phone.
Realme X2 Pro
+ 90Hz display. (Undeniably nice)
+ Faster processor.
+ Stereo speaker with Dolby but the top speaker noticeably weak.
+ Official HDR10+ certified.
+ Very slightly faster fingerprint scanner.
+ UFS 3.0.
+ Very fast charging, although the phone does get warmer than K20 Pro on fast charging.
+ PDAF even on ultrawide lens.
Mi 9T Pro / K20 Pro
+ Overall better camera output despite equipped with older/lesser hardware. (My priority)
+ Wider FoV ultrawide-angle lens.
+ Laser AF, important for low-light close-up shot.
+ Notch-free display.
+ Slightly better display color-accuracy albeit without HDR10+ support. (2nd priority)
+ Very slightly longer screen on time.
+ Better aesthetic IMO.
+ Better software support both for users and developers.
+ Bit cheaper.
In conclusion, given the price, Realme X2 Pro is a good choice for gamer or if photo quality is not necessarily important to you (I'm a media photographer). Its not bad at all, its just my personal judgement from my experience fiddling around with both phone. As for performance, both performs identical in day to day usage but there is a catch, SD 855+ run games at 90FPS (not much games for now) will sometimes reach thermal-throttling threshold a bit quick, so I suggest leave it at 60, and dont worry, its still smooth.

Flagship Killer Realme X2 Pro Master edition wins over OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren

While comparing Realme X2 Pro Master edition and OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren
Realme X2 Pro Master edition wins with the features listed as
1) Cost wise - value for money for mostly same hardware. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus, 12 GB RAM, 256GB Internal Storage
2) 50w Charging - 0 to 100% battery in less than 30 minutes with 2 Battery (Total 4000 mAh)
3) Headphone Jack - big winner for many who still loves wired headphones or earphones
4) 4 Cameras - Higher 64MP , 20x Zoom and 2MP Macro Depth Portrait Sensor
5) No movable selfy/front camera with teardrop display - Eliminates mechanical wear and tear
OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren wins with OxygenOS
Paying almost twice the price of Realme X2 Pro Master edition for OxygenOs is not worthy.
Realme X2 Pro Master edition needs plenty of custom OS to balance what Color OS is lacking and Dev support for this Hardware Beast in XDA is essential and will encourage Devs to lend their help . Doesn't these features listed above excite many? Please do share your inputs and recommendations to help others.:good:
Hmm, only difference between normal 12GB X2 pro and a master edition is that special colours and 6P lens over 5P or there's something more ? If that's all there is no point to pay more for the same stuff you can get in normal 12GB model over Master Edition IMO
Edit. Also Master Edition is not available as a global as far as I know but 12/256 is.
Making this type of posts is imo useless ! Can't understand what is your objective with this .
Justify the purchase of your X2 Pro ?
I will say what does the OP7T Pro has better then .
Cameras - they use Sony sensors instead of Samsung , each camera has more lenses l elements for less distortion and more clarity . The software is waaaaay better . Low light you can't even compare .
Hardware - yes it doesn't have headphone jack but what the X2 Pro has isn't any good too ! Has too much background noise and you can't use higher ampedince headphones , it's restricted to basic earphones. Better built quality ( can't understand why the X2 Pro has a lip between the screen and the body so prenounce ) .
OS - do I really need to talk about it ? I will say just one thing ... OxygenOS my friend ? and no nonsense bootloader and FP restinctions .
Special edition - are you really going to compare a McLaren edition to the master edition? Jesus
Charging - the 50W on the X2pro is the same thing off oppo and here is the defining factor of the X2 Pro for now ! The ONLY phone with such a fast charging ( we need to wait to see the problems of this in the future ) .
I thing I made my point .
Don't dish what you can't buy ! The OP7T Pro has a place ! And it's well earned !
If I could buy it I would and most people here on XDA .
Be realistic . I love my X2 Pro and until now I don't regret buying it . But it's not the best thing ever !
I picked the X2 pro over op7t... The plus on the X2 pro over the 7t are more important to me. 3.5mm jack is fine and usable and I'd much prefer it over not having one. Camera is excellent if used correctly. 12gb 256gb storage and over £100 cheaper then the 7t... I also prefer the cooler temperature screen. Colour os at least on the European version is nice and clean and works as it should and is nothing like what people try to make out. I love oxygen but its no Saint and according to the 7,7 pro,7t community forums it still has issues that I had on my 6t at launch like the phone powering down and only turning back on with a button combination and the ****ty double tap to wake working intermittently. There's pros and cons to both but for me the X2 pro is the better device.

Master edition with Global firmware was released in India a week before and soon in Europe and USA.
Realme X2 Pro price in USD equivalent as on 10/Jan/20 from flipkart
6GB RAM 64GB Memory - $394.16
8GB RAM 128GB Memory - $422.21
12GB RAM 256GB Memory - $478.51
Master edition 12GB RAM - $492.53
Really interested to buy this over the Oneplus 7T Pro, if only Oneplus sticked to their original price range then they could have been the Flagship killer they've been known for, now they're trying hard to be Samsung XD.
Anyway, is the development scene for this device promising enough to warrant a purchase? Before I start to purchase a new device my normal practice is to check the XDA community if it has some Custom OS flavor
Thanks in advance for those who can share their wisdom.

Ye, you're right, that's actually the only difference. It'd be wise for realme to sell master editions on other markets, but it's only in chinese and Indian version
At such a price we are getting :-
1:- Still Battery Charging King in 2020
2:- Dual stereo speakers with dolby
3:- 855+ ufs3.0
4:- Headphone jack
5:- Superamoled
6:- (Fast app load, boot time,fp and face unlock) even beats iPhone 11 pro max.

From s10+ exynos to Mi 9t Pro?

Hello
I am using an S10+ since May and I am not having problems with it.
Though I wonder if the mi 9t pro camera + gcam 7 is not way better than the exynos S10+?
Or the difference is minimal?
Regarding the camera, I honestly think that S10's is superior, but when it comes to GCam, both should be in the same level. Especially with the same settings.
But the Exynos CPU is definitely "weaker" than Snapdragon, principally when it comes to gaming, as the games tends to throttle much less in SD, and are also more optimized for it.
Yeah in terms of performance MI9T PRO/K20 PRO is ahead.
But i guess when comparing in other areas like camera nd ONE UI. Samung kiLLs
i wanted to buy Samung S10 plus but in my country only Exynos version is available. Earlier i have used NOTE 4 Exynos. And there arent ROMS for Exynos chipset. and Then i bought K20 pro.
with GCAM it can take some really good shots.
I went from HTC U12 to an exynos S10e and had to return it, although it was a beautiful screen and design it was dropping phonecalls when I was driving. I found the S10e to have a slightly over processed and saturated look on the camera.
I've had the Mi9T Pro 8/256 since it was launched and its a good HTC substitute, camera wise it is good but I do miss OIS. But with a bit of practice GCam does take a good shot, I'm no pro though.

Can you recommend the X2 Pro?

Hello!
I hope you guys can help me. I wanna buy a new phone but i dont wanna spend more than 500€ - at the moment iam using my Oneplus 6 which is really great but i search for a smartphone with a better Cam (OP6 -> 16+20MP).
Do you can really recommend the X2 Pro? I saw a lot of videos that the quality of the cam is not the best ...
What do you think about the X3 Superzoom? i also saw here that the quality isnt good, extremly bad
Do you know when you cant recommend it another smartphone which is better?
I hope some of you can help me! Thank you for you help and hints !
If you want the best cam out there, then you should look elsewhere. Otherwise this is a pretty good camera for the price. It's just a shame that photo processing in the stock cam is quite bad, though it really shines with the GCam, you can't use wide and telephoto lenses (in the stock ROM).
I'd give it an 8.5/10 with the GCam.
If you want a better camera for that price, look at the Poco F2 phone. So every phone has good and bad components. The X3 has an IPS panel...... So every time 1-2 components are not my first choice under 500€. The camera at the realme X2 Pro is OK. The charging is top. The CPU is good but from 2019. Battery is good, but if you have 20% you have to know that it came from two battery's. So I charge at 20%. Realme One UI software is ok but not oneplus. For me it feels like Huawei. All Google stuff and realme software can't be deleted, only with adb or root.
At the first week I think to give it back. After a month I am really good with that phone.
my other favorites:
Poco F2
realme x50 pro
OPPO find pro
I went. From the 6T to the X2 pro and I have been really happy, particularly with the 90hz screen, stereo speakers, battery and superior fingerprint. The cameras are decent but you will probably need gcam to get the best out of them.
If I were you though I would be looking at the Poco f2 pro which has the newer 5g enabled SD 865 and better specs overall except for the speakers and 90hz.
The X2 pro is good though, RealmeUI is decent too and it's a good deal. You can get the 12gb ram 256gb storage at a good price too while the Poco only see to have 6/128 variant at the moment,
Depends on your needs I guess, the 12gb ram is a gimmick though when you only need less than 6gb in real life scenarios

Question X90PP vs Xiaomi 13U

I thought it would be interesting to compare camera performance of these two beasts.

I have seen that video yesterday already and I think in the end it's all personal preference. Both phones have their pros and cons and I think in my case the 13u is the better deal.
After seeing many comparisons I see the photos and videos of the xiaomi too saturated wanting to imitate the iPhone and samsung

They are at the same level but Xiaomi 13 ultra has been launched 6-7 months later than Vivo which is a long time in this market. I suppose that when Vivo X100 Pro Plus will be launched in November It would be a better deal

No doubts the next vivo will have a better camera setup than the x90 pro plus. But if you look further Samsung will release their next flagship again in February 2024 which could be better than x100 pro plus. It's an endless loop and basically you can always wait and never buy. That's why I said it's personal preference.

There is a good possibility for the x100pp to launch in Q1/Q2 2024. Similar to how Xiaomi did it with their 11,12 and 13 line up.
On color os china, on oppo x6 pro, do always on display show all notifications or just stock sms and missed calls (as on vivo originos)?
I would like to buy this device especially for its camera that I consider superior even to the Xiaomi Mi 13 ultra. I come from years of Xiaomi, with some problems but nothing serious and I have always unlocked, flashed rom of my liking and rooted. I thought it could be done also on Vivo but it seems not and then I do not know if it is convenient the X90 pp or the certainty of being able to do everything on the Mi 13 ultra...
if you're used to rooting forget Origin OS. It's a prison cage like iOS. Most of their huge settings menu is only related to functions 3rd party apps can do better anyhow like launcher or similar.
And removing apps with adb is getting more and more painful each software update. If you live outside Europa an import Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a no brainer vs Vivo. Also gcam support is much better on Xiaomi.
On stock camera the Vivo only has advantage in 2.2-4x zoom range and at night. The front camera of both sucks for the segment, but is even worse on Xiaomi. Especially the ultra wide is far superior on Xiamo 13Ultra.. However with Find X6 Pro at same price - I would always chose that one over the Vivo - and the software on the Oppo isn't as crappy as Vivo when it comes to dark mode/notifications (that will even get worse when vivo.pem cannot be removed anymore in future). At night except for main camera the Find X6 Pro is way above both others.
A good review of 2023 phones cameras is here (Vivo based on the beta firmware with Demo-X)
(pretty sure subtitles are coming soon) - and xiaobai is a lot more objective than most english youtubers that live in China.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra is the only Chinese phone that gets the preview quite okay, not as good as Iphone 14 Pro but much better than the rest of the market when it comes to lowlight or HDR.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra ultrawide is better than X90PP? Even with smaller sensor? Why?
(sorry, without subtitles I can't understand what is said in the video)
Look at the model number. At Sony the first number is about the positioning. Size of sensor isn't everything. The ultrawide on the vivo is a much cheaper sensor vs Xiaomi.
Yeah Sony claimed the sensor was improved despite being smaller, but sometimes that's just marketing nonsense. Glad to see that the IMX858 is actually good.
Another problem that the X90PP has is bad demosaicing while calculating the 12MP image from the 48/50MP quad-bayer raw data. That leads to "smushy" textures. Apple for example does this waaaaay better, GCam too. It's especially noticeable in combination with an ultra-wide lens.
I'm really looking forward to the subtitles!!
imx 598 is more or less a imx 586 - basically 5 year old tech. besides size and therefore not too bad at low light - it's really not a modern sensor anymore. it was back then mainly used as a main sensor for midrangers...
Cannot compete with a smaller but modern 858 or even less with the IMX 890 sensor on the Oppo Find X6 Pro (which is a 2022 mid range main sensor)
The video now has subtitles. BTW Huawei P60 Pro tiny bit ahead of Xiaomi 13 Ultra overall - Oppo a bit behind - and then Vivo, ahead of Honor and then Iphone is the conclusion.
The main problems for Vivo being the boring images (you see everything - suitable for beginners or pixel peeping - but not good for interesting pictures) - the low light abilties of the zoom lens (usually at night it uses main sensor up to 5x) and the ultrawide. Strong point for Vivo are portraits (best after Huawei) and lowlight on main lens. Vivo choses the easiest option of boosting pictures brightness overall - which gives images that do well in blind tests - but transport no athmosphere. The comparison is only about photo - not video. Otherwise Iphone wouldn't be last. And yeah this review isn't about front camera - because Iphone is way better there.
With Huawei a total no go without any kind of google services for most users and no 5G- the camera king right now is clearly Xiaomi 13 Ultra - especially as you can use a global OS - or even buy a global version with proper warrranty and the longest promised software support for chinese manufacturers right now - the software situation of course also applying to chinese version after unlock and flash of global OS (not xiaomi.eu which is based on Chinese OS). The Oppo is better than Vivo because of far superior ultrawide/zoom lens in the dark (but worse when zoomed over 5x). The Magic 5 Pro doesn't make too much sense anymore - as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is now also available globally (or very soon). Iphone well - that's apples to oranges besides the camera. A proper macro mode of course also is missing from X90PP while Huawei/Xiaomi have one.
BTW in a newer video no subs yet - Xiaobai is not recommending Huawei P60 Pro for buying. Oppo Find X6 Pro is the 4500-6000RMB choice. Iphone 14 Pro Max, S23U, Xiaomi 13Ultra and X90Pro+ get the recommendation above 6000RMB (phones are categorized by list price - and while X90Pro+ is actually cheaper than Find X6 Pro and Xioami 13U - the list price of Find X6 Pro was cheaper). For Xiobai S23U is the best android phone besides the camera (and Samsung clearly doesn't pay him - Samsung has a difficult standing in China right now much more pricey than domestic brands, unlike Europe/USA where Samsung is cheaper than the global models of Chinese flagships)
BTW - the Xiaomi 13 Ultra manual F-Stop is still problematic for user experience. They need to work on it still. Huawei is much advanced there. It's pretty solid in rumors Vivo X100 Pro+ will get variable aperture too (but unknown if variable one like Huawei or 2 stops like Xiaomi)
Oh yeah and Xiaobai vs for example Hans Tech Talk is like take someone who is a world difference in objectiveness and professionalism. There's a good reason why Xiaobai is the undisputed most reknown smartphone camera reviewer in China (though his battery life review has no relevance at all except for gamers. )
