Question Change ROM to another supported country? - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Good morning my friends.
I'm from Brazil and I purchased an S21 Ultra from Canada, version Snapdragon/512gb.
I would like to know if there is a way to change the Rom to American (The Canadian version does not have system translation for my native language).
I would like to know exactly which compatible ROM to use and what are the risks involved in the process, and to know if I can find any step-by-step video/tutorials helping with the procedure.
I thank you for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you.

you have to buy a samkey downgrade the phone to the older firmware change the CSC and your done flashing the different region firmware via Odin won't do anything. I don't know what version u need for the snapdragon model as I only did an Exynos one

You need to use SamKey. I have account with 19 credit. I can sell it to you if you are interested. Do not buy from ebay, you need to buy directly from samkey reseller. They are not selling less then 20 credit. Changing country is just 1 credit.

I know you can flash without problem the american unlocked global version. The g998u1. This has the most bands. I use it in the United States with either tmobile or att and in mexico with telcel. And haven't had issues. So I hope this helps. Just need the moded Odin version to flash it.

I agree the U1 rom version from Samsung works fine. I have been using it in my devices for years.

Update N950F to N950U (US version)

Hi All, I have a Note 8 model N950F. Turns out that i cannot earn rewards because of the model version. I won this phone through a raffle and requested an unlocked version. Unfortunately it turned out to be a UAE model. Is there any way that i can get rewards to work? I tried an older version of SPay and it worked for a while until i couldnt use it without going through the update, which removed the rewards again.
If i can get to rewards to work without a reflash that would be great? Else can some one help me with reflash to US version unlocked?
Did Samsung pay works fine on note 8 international version before the update? Because I am about to buy Korean version but I am afraid SP won't work. BUT if it will work if I flash USA SP that's fine with me and everytime will ask me to update then I will flash the latest APK SP to avoid the wrong update. So confirm that to me please!

Im not sure about the Korean version, but SPay was working for me just that I cant accumulate rewards. I think that is US device thing. SPay app is not setup by location, the device is. South Korea model will support SPay but without rewards again. How to make rewards work, on an international device, for US transactions is my question here.

Your device, SM-N950F, CAN'T be flashed to a SM-N950U version (US)!
Different processors!
You again...lol. Thanks for the reply.
Anyway to make SPay rewards work?
If I am mistaken please correct me so I'm not spreading false info here, but as I understand there are 2 problems with this: problem 1 is that the Korean version of the app won't let you use non-Korean cards or carriers, and problem 2 is that if you get the USA version of the app installed either A) it still won't work because the device is still region-set to Korea, and/or B) if you rooted to be able to change the settings and Google Play Store etc to USA this trips Knox which I believe renders Samsung pay useless on the device forever.
The only other-region fix for Samsung pay I've seen mentioned is that supposedly if you have a 950F unrooted you can use Odin to flash official 950F Australian firmware, and that version will accept USA credit cards. I do not have an F variant though so I can't personally vouch for that workaround, and my N is very much knox tripped.
So SPay works on my phone. Mine is UAE. It's just that all my promotions are UAE based even though I'm using in US and I receive no reward points. Any fix for that?

Can someone answer this question, he just wants rewards working again, seems the thread is going off topic from the original question.
Sent from my SM-N950F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I had the same issue and here's what I did
I had the same issue and complaint about the samsung pay.
I bought the dual sim variant N950F/DS(UAE firmware originally), and I knew the samsung pay won't be fully working in the US.
I tried a couple of things and finally working well even rewards.
1) Change firmware to AUS/UK. Otherwise, some debit/credit cards are not working.
The UAE firmware, for example, didn't work with AMEX, but Visa and Master were working.
2) Install Samsung pay and Samsung pay framework manually.
Download the latest APK and install it before executing/installing samsung pay.
Don't install it from the app market place(galaxy store or google play store).
Also, don't forget to turn the auto-update off from them.
3) If the Samsung pay updated, then install the latest version manually again.
I did this and rewards and deals are working well.
Only the 'Home' tab is not working.

Possible to change region on N950F for Samsung Pay?

Hello all,
I recently purchased an unlocked Note 8 (model number SM-N950F). One of the reasons I decided to make the jump for the Note 8 was for Samsung Pay, but as I'm currently discovering, my model is preventing me from being able to use the service. I'm in the US, but the phone was designed for South East European markets and therefore won't allow the Pay app to work in the US.
I read somewhere about a possibility of switching the firmware on the phone to get the service running (effectively switching the region by switching the country's firmware). I, unfortunately, was unable to find any concrete evidence that it would be possible or work in my case. I decided to turn to the powerful minds of XDA to figure this out.
What I'm looking at is possibly installing a different country's firmware (possible issue with the US variant having a Snapdragon processor as opposed to the Exynos processor that my variant has) or I thought maybe rooting the device and changing the model number in the device files to a US variant would work. Would either of these work?
Thanks for the help!
I read somewhere on here that you can Odin flash Australian 950F firmware and that will allow you to use American credit cards etc with Samsung Pay.
Can't vouch for it since i have a rooted 950N
Have the same problem. Using my S3 now for Pay. Would love to have this answered.
After some further research, just as I suspected, rooting the phone trips the Knox efuse, which will also prevent the Samsung Pay application from working, so the only viable option that I know of would be to flash (using odin not TWRP) another country's firmware.
You only need one friend whit us versions to send you the pay framework apk and pay US apk. Sebd me pm. I have US tmo version. My fruend have the same problem and I sent him the apkS and it worked
I just bought an unlocked Note 8 N950F that had the Singapore CSC and I also couldn't use Samsung Pay. I switched to the Australia XSA and Samsung Pay works perfectly in the US. The only thing is that it doesn't have Samsung Rewards since it's a US promotion. AMEX and Whitepages also work. I just went to Sammobile.com and downloaded the latest XSA firmware. Going from one stock ROM to another does not trigger Knox either. Hope that helps.

How did you install those apks? I got PaymentFramework.apk (com.samsung.android.spayfw - Samsung Pay Framework) and SamsungPayStub.apk (com.samsung.android.spay - Samsung Pay) from another firmware but... "App not installed"
My issue is amex doesn't work on sampay UAE (other Banks do).
I started by flashing entire roms but eventually I have flashed just the csc of various roms from sammobile. Either Sam pay won't work after each flash or it still only works with the banks i could do on the UAE CSC it came with. So it doesn't change anything.
Did anyone find a way? I have the n950n Korean version and it says I need to insert a Korean SIM. I even tried with the original SIM to set it up and it won't authorize without a working SIM. I contacted Samsung UK and they said it wasn't possible. Not sure if they said that because it would be too in depth. Just seeing if there is a way to do all of this as I would love to have Samsung pay actually work!
You maybe able to use Samsung Pay on the N950F if the card, which you wish to register used with Samsung Pay is supported.

Changing the CSC of SM-N9600 from Hong Kong to USA for Samsung Pay Usage

Hi all,
I bought my Galaxy Note 9 mainly for Samsung Pay and just realized that there is a regional lock for Samsung Pay. (I don't care about other things like VoLTE or Wifi Calling).
My Note 9 is SM-N9600 and the CSC is TGY (Hong Kong).
I wonder whether there are any ways to change the CSC from Hong Kong to USA so that I can use Samsung Pay in US?
I have read lots of posts in this forum, but got no luck. There are some related threads:
for S8/S8+: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-changing-csc-s8-s8-root-t3799045
for N960FD: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/note-9-n960fd-dual-sim-csc-change-oxm-t3841000
same question but no answer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9/help/changing-csc-to-u1-usas-samsung-pay-t3801639
My understanding is that:
- To change the CSC (especially from SM-N9600 to SM-N960U), we must reflash the firmware.
- SM-N9600 does not have any firmware having USA CSCs.
- We can get the USA CSCs from N960U and put it into the firmware of N9600, and then flash it.
- However, the modified firmware will trigger Knox and hence make Samsung Pay unusable.
Are there any suggestions or tutorials on this?
For example, will applying the firmware of SM-N960U on SM-N9600 work?
Thanks!

You cant cross flash firmware from different device versions...ie N9600 vs N960... not happening.
Those of use who have the exynos version can flash US CSC files via twrp. I would think the same would be possible for the N9600.
I search the note 9 forums for the exynos method and go from there even though im not sure if just changing csc will allow sammy pay to work

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I don't think cross-flashing will work either.
My SM-N9600 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon, not Exynos.
Another thought is that I checked the firmware for SM-N9600, and found there is a version for Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico is listed in the US's Samsung Pay Reward program.
I wonder whether I will be able to safely flash it, and use the Samsung Pay.

Probably you can try flash HK firmware but with US CSC?
But not 100% sure...
Did you try add adding the card? You would miss out on Samsung Rewards but it should work, myself and some other I have read about just added the card to Samsung Pay and it did work, it does for me. I just can't use and claim the rewards points.

Thanks! I think it may work.
However, what I want is the Samsung Rewards...
I heard a rumor that flashing the Mexico firmware and putting in a Mexican Sim card (off ebay) in before booting up would get Samsung Pay to work.
I want to test it, but I don't have a phone to test with

I was able to install the US Saumsung Pay and log in. However, the home tab says that "You're offline".
Let me explain what I did:
- I downloaded App Backup Lite on my previous US S8 and then backed up Samsung Framework and Samsung Pay.
- I reset my Note 9 without installing Samsung Pay.
- I installed the backup Samsung Framework and Samsung Pay.
- When I installed Samsung Framework, the system said that "I upgraded the installed Samsung Framework".
- When I installed Samsung Pay, the system said that "I installed it".
- I opened Samsung Pay and logged in. The home page shows "You're offline", but the other pages look ok.
- I went into the setting in Samsung Pay and reset the app. However, it did not fix the problem.

I think this requires rooting the phone, which trips Knox and disables Samsung Pay.
I have heard about that you can use the SM-N9600 firmware but replace the CSC file from SM-N960U. Someone claims that he successfully did this on his note 7. However, I noticed that after S8, Samsung updates their bootloader and this way may brick the phone. Any idea?

Can i flash the sm-g977b firmware onto the sm-g977n device?

Hey 5G Pioneers,
I am wondering can I flash the sm-g 977b firmware onto the sm-g 977n device through the Odin? Did someone make it?
Since these two models are all using the same Exynos 9820 chips
And from my previous experience of using my galaxy s8, Samsung actually enabled me to flash the firmware in different regions only if the devices were using the same chip version.
I am currently in Australia. The Korean version of 977N is much cheaper, and it seems that is the only network unlock version that I could buy from the market.
Not sure where are you in Australia but I bought mine from a Telstra Sales Rep (based in CBD, Melbourne) where he got a discount code and gave its to me for AUD 1400 for the 512 GB Majestic Black Version, unlocked , I'm using Optus, VoLTE, VoWIFI works fine on it.

On Sammobile website, I found 4 firmware Korean variants. I tried getting more information on the "KOO" variant to see if its a stock Samsung firmware without Carrier Apps/Bloatware without luck. I couldn't get any detailed information whether it can be flashed over any other Korean variant. Can anyone here clarify if its possible and If yes provide further details?
Attached a snapshot.

That is the non bloatware Korean version but it doesn't allow me to flash it. I suspect you have to flash it with the userdata file also.

Hi,
I did disable the apps which is great, but there menu operator items as well!
Edit : Forgot to mention that the boot logo is of the operator as well.
I was researching something about using the PIT file along with the firmware but can't find the specific PIT file for S10 5g.
Use Odin or the modified version to flash combination firmware. Then flash your desired firmware.
This is the only way I am aware to remove all carrier bloatware and boot logos.

I am particularly interested in this as the 977N variant seems to be dual sim. I notice it also has additional bands to the 977B varient and I would like to put the telstra firmware to ensure operation of VoLTE VoWiFi RCS etc.
The main purpose is to use at home and overseas. So more bands and access to features (VoLTE, VoWiFI, RCS etc. on my telstra SIM and local overseas SIM) when overseas are the goal.
Unless someone can confirm that the 977N with vanilla firmware will support all the telstra features?

Hi, I wonder if it's possible to convert Hong Kong variant of S20 FE 5G (SM-G7810) to European version (SM-G781B). What I have to do?
Please help me!
it is impossible to do
I am interested too, since I bought a SM-G780 model, which will be delivered to me in the next few days and I would like to carry out the same operation, I have already downloaded the Italian CSC ITV firmware SM-G781B; through Odin, can it be done? The phones have the same features, same processor, change the RAM which in the SM-G780 is 8GB, while in the SM-G781B it is 6GB. Thanks.

I also follow, I'm in Italy, in 15 days I'll get the:
SM-G7810 S20 FE 5G 8GB/128GB.
Have you discovered or tried how to put SM-G781B Firmware?
This information will also be useful for other people who will find themselves in our situation in other countries!

do not give people false hope, this method will not work.
I can say that it will work 100%
Voice HD+ (EVS full band 128kbit/s) you only need to correct the configuration a little.
And flash G7810 to G781B - not possible!

I still have to receive the smartphone, I found the difference between the G7810 and G781global on this forum.
So what are the substantial differences then? And is it possible to put a Firmware / Global Rom while keeping the original phone, that is, without root and with OTAs?

I don't understand what you are trying to say.
First you pasted some screenshot without showing second one for global version (for which rom is it?)
Once you say it will work then you say it won't
As to WiFi calling I am using it all the time at home with Chinese version.

Hello, I ask you for more precise information if you can give it to me, since you have this variant!
What are the substantial differences between the G7810 and G781B versions, and the problems with the HK version?

Perfect. While the Google PlayStore, and other services work? There are no problems or report at the software level I mean!
Because for my country Italy, the frequencies of use of the G7810 are fine! So I was more interested in removal or software related problems!
Thanks a lot for the answer
its not posibil to do that and you dont need to do it you will get the update later in february.
Today arrived my 7810. As I need to be avle to use phone-recording I always did the CSC-trick trouwgh the THL-roms on S8, S9, S10 etc.
Therefore I am curious if there is a way to make phone recording work native as described above, or through app as ACR-call recorder on THY ( Hongkong-ROM).
For hardware the difference between 781B ( Global) & 7810 (Hongkong & China) is 6 GB vs 8GB.
That's probably why people think it is possible to flash other ROM into 7810 .

First have you forgotten the fack this is an international forum, where english isnt for a lot of people tghier first language. And secondly being insulting helps no one.
If you can a technical reason as to why the OP can't just flash a G781B stock rom to his G7810 device, that would more productive. Will it for example just not work and soft-brick his device requiring flashing back to G7810 firmware etc..?

ALL European sold S20 FE 5G are 6 GB.
So what are the software differences within the sm-g7810 and the sm-g781B because i want to buy this phone too.

I would check GSMarena to start with.
As I do not have a 781B, I have no idea about the differences.
Runing a Chinese ROM for now because of native call recorder.
Works fine in the Netherlands.

I'm thinking of buying the hongkong version from Canada. The process of unlocking the bootloader and rooting will be easier in this version right? Will the custom ROMs be compatible with the 8 GB hongkong version?
Otherwise I will go with the Canadian version.
