Locked bootloader + different modem

The globalization benefits China in terms of economic growth and economic development. As China has lower their trade barrier internationally which leads to the increase in the international trade and foreign investment, this results in significant levels of economic growth and development.

bootloader isn't the problem because it's unlockable, and im almost sure that the modems can be activated in the kernel, but all of that requires a developer interested in the project...

This option is by default in every android phone and it does not mean that in oppo you can unlock bootloader.

i tried to install (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oppo/...ase/depth-testing-1-1-0-android-apk-download/) to confirm, but it says there is already an app with the same signature installed, and cannot install. But I can't find the app to run anywhere...

This just means you have to have a unlocked bootloader, you cannot lock the bootloader once flashing Global on to Chinese & vice versa
Quote from the article you linked:- "If you have an unlocked bootloader, you can safely flash out-of-region MIUI versions using TWRP, fastboot, or the MiFlash tool."
You just can't relock on a out-of-region ROM anymore
I have the same question as OP. Really looking forward to this one. Looks like it's going to be a really affordable device for the specs it offers but I would like to know how long it usually takes for global roms to be published.
I might wait until there's a stable global rom available.
Well the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was released 11th November & the Global ROM was available on the 21st December I believe, based of that I'd say maybe a month give or take

On the Global ROM there is less bloatware, & it includes Google Apps, if you have Chinese ROM you get no Google Apps, also the AI button will be Chinese AI & not Google Assistant.
There's probably a few other differences I'm missing too..

I'm pretty sure you can install all the Google stuff on the Chinese ROM yes, however I'd definitely look in to it first if I where you, also I'm not sure if the AI button can be remapped

I pre-ordered from Giztop.
They contacted me saying they have the Chinese version in stock and will install Google play on the phone before shipping out.
I'm in the US.
If I go this route, can I convert to the global edition using the global rom at some point?
I'll just have to keep the bootloader unlocked?

Everything I have read says yes. Chances are though in the near future we will see some really good custom ROMS for the phone so you may end up not even wanting to go with the stock global ROM once its out. At least that is my thinking and what I plan to do down the road.

Some banking apps don't work with a unlocked bootloader, also if your device where to be lost or stolen it's easier for the person to access your data or wipe the phone completely to sell it

MI 9 locked to Vodafone

Hey guys
I was wondering if I am able to unlock the bootloader of this phone and flash Xiaomi EU Rom but I am on locked Vodafone network so I am not sure if I will be able to do this because something might go wrong. If anyone has any knowledge on this subject can you please help me out
In a telegram Mi 9 Group I read that someone was in the same situation and he open the bootloader and flashed via Mi Flash a global rom and lock the bootloader successfully without problem.
Do you have telegram app? Search Xiaomi Mi 9 - Espanol on it, and ask there about what did you want to do.
How do you know you are locked on Vodafone? Mine wasn't network locked

Not every phone under contract is locked, if you have a spare SIM from another network it may be worth checking.
Either way - I suspect you won't have any issues. The part of your phone that ROMs are flashed to is on a separate chip to where the network lock is configured AFAIK.

Edit: you were correct sir I tried a sim from a different carrier and it worked perfectly
A dual sim phone is never locked to a specific carrier. You may get some that are "branded", so they have a bit of carrier specific bloat that can be uninstalled, but they never come locked.

I did to v 9 something. Using the mi flash tool or whatever it's called (not at my pc now). That also unlocked the dual sim as the 2nd slot didn't work before.

Doubts before switching ROM

Hello friends, so I bought a K20 Pro in Aliexpress and the seller changed the ROM of the device.
I want to know what are the precautions to take before changing the ROM.
Maybe there is a topic that answer my question but I do not found it.
What do you mean with "don't found it". There are plenty information here... Where did you search?

Actually I read that to unlock the bootloader and change the ROM, I need to register the phone on some xiaomi website and then if I want to block the bootloader back the phone would have to be registered in my account. I don't remember right because I lost the topic where I read this. So I created this topic to find out if there are any tricks or tips to do before these procedures.

Does your box have the Chinese letters printed at the back? If Yes, that’s a Chinese unit and you can only lock bootloader on the Chinese firmware. Locking it on Global or Indian firmware will hard brick the device.

Change from G7810 to G781B Please help me

Hi, I wonder if it's possible to convert Hong Kong variant of S20 FE 5G (SM-G7810) to European version (SM-G781B). What I have to do?
Please help me!
it is impossible to do
I am interested too, since I bought a SM-G780 model, which will be delivered to me in the next few days and I would like to carry out the same operation, I have already downloaded the Italian CSC ITV firmware SM-G781B; through Odin, can it be done? The phones have the same features, same processor, change the RAM which in the SM-G780 is 8GB, while in the SM-G781B it is 6GB. Thanks.

Have you discovered or tried how to put SM-G781B Firmware?

do not give people false hope, this method will not work.
I can say that it will work 100%
Voice HD+ (EVS full band 128kbit/s) you only need to correct the configuration a little.
And flash G7810 to G781B - not possible!

I still have to receive the smartphone, I found the difference between the G7810 and G781global on this forum.
So what are the substantial differences then? And is it possible to put a Firmware / Global Rom while keeping the original phone, that is, without root and with OTAs?

I don't understand what you are trying to say.
First you pasted some screenshot without showing second one for global version (for which rom is it?)
Once you say it will work then you say it won't
As to WiFi calling I am using it all the time at home with Chinese version.

Perfect. While the Google PlayStore, and other services work? There are no problems or report at the software level I mean!
Because for my country Italy, the frequencies of use of the G7810 are fine! So I was more interested in removal or software related problems!
Thanks a lot for the answer
its not posibil to do that and you dont need to do it you will get the update later in february.
Today arrived my 7810. As I need to be avle to use phone-recording I always did the CSC-trick trouwgh the THL-roms on S8, S9, S10 etc.
Therefore I am curious if there is a way to make phone recording work native as described above, or through app as ACR-call recorder on THY ( Hongkong-ROM).
For hardware the difference between 781B ( Global) & 7810 (Hongkong & China) is 6 GB vs 8GB.
That's probably why people think it is possible to flash other ROM into 7810 .

First have you forgotten the fack this is an international forum, where english isnt for a lot of people tghier first language. And secondly being insulting helps no one.
If you can a technical reason as to why the OP can't just flash a G781B stock rom to his G7810 device, that would more productive. Will it for example just not work and soft-brick his device requiring flashing back to G7810 firmware etc..?

As I do not have a 781B, I have no idea about the differences.
Runing a Chinese ROM for now because of native call recorder.

I'm thinking of buying the hongkong version from Canada. The process of unlocking the bootloader and rooting will be easier in this version right? Will the custom ROMs be compatible with the 8 GB hongkong version?
Otherwise I will go with the Canadian version.

You just said something that's incorrect, not all phones have the option to enable boot unlock your device. For example my OnePlus 7T did not allowed me to enable this mode(it was grayed out) until I was able to get t-mobile to unlock the phone. So at that moment I couldn't do nothing. So enabling this option is the first big step to boot unlocking the device.
Stranger_Q said:
