[Q] full wipe / factory reset ...

Can somone explain the difference between (full) wipe, factory reset, ...
Is a wipe the same as format?

Is there no difference, or does nobody know it?

A full wipe is when you delete everything on your phone. A full wipe is needed every time before flashing a stock or custom rom. It will delete everything on your phone and you will not even be able to boot. Only Clockworkmod and the Download Mode will be left. Meanwhile, a factory reset will only erase data from your phone's internal storage. Factory reset is suitable only when you are in stock rom and a non-rooted device. It is dangerous to do a factory reset if you are rooted or having a custom rom. You will brick your device.

Installation:
You must have flashed a Android 7.0 Samsung Firmware with Odin.

As title says, im currently running a stock 1.29.901.16, unrooted
I wanted to install a custom rom, based on 1.29.401.16r
Can i do it simply unlocking,rooting and installing in recovery after wiped data/ factory reset?
Or i need to install the old base RUU ?

once your unlocked and rooted just wipe and flash

[Q] Can't perform Factory reset, neither Wipe Data

Hi,
My Razr I is rooted and has the unlocked bootloader.
I was trying to install a Custom ROM, but I could not perform the Factory Reset.
It stucks on that Android robot screen, and nothing happens.
When I force the restart, it boots normally and the reset did not work.
I have CWM installed. Also tried to wipe partitions via CWM, and it does not work as well.
Any ideas?

[Q] Rom leaving previous data on device?

I flashed some roms and one of those had my wallpaper or ringtone i had just install itself... I clear data and factory reset in TWRP recovery. Any tips for clean wipes of rom?

How to reset to factory setting?

HI,
I currently hace twrp custom recovery and systemless root installed on my note 5 (n920i) and am looking to reset it back to how it came from the factory as i am giving it to a friend.
Do i just unroot via Super user and reflash via odin? Will reflashing via odin remove custom recovery?
