i could make an howto for unbrick lg v40 after.
i try a thing with a boot_a with twrp but its don't work i prefer flash all.....
(Request) Partition Backups
Does anyone have backups of their partitions on the lg v40 under sprint? Specifically hunting down the original OP partition on sprint? Any help greatly appreciated.

Get only laf a and laf b files and flash via qfil. You'll get download mode.

I did create another thread, but didn't provide much info in it. Here is more information on my situation, any help is much appreciated.
I was planning to unlock my newly obtained G Flex LS995 for Sprint yesterday. Here was my process
-Used Stump Root w/Bruteforce Mode to Root. No issues, Root worked fine
-Used Freedom Flex to Install TWRP, yet again, no issues. Installed fine.
-Finally got to TWRP, did a restore, and this is where I made one crucial mistake; didn't wipe my system.
-Used the AT&T/Sprint ROM from Post #6 in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747066
-Successfully installed in recovery, rebooted
Now, my phone is stuck in boot loop (phone flashes LG splash screen, goes blank with LED indicator endlessly blinking). Here is everything I've tried to fix it:
-Access recovery mode via regular method (VOL - and Power) did not work though I did get to Hardware Key Mode a few times through this method
-Access to Hard Reset mode did not work
-Download mode does work
-Tried LG Flash Tool w/Sprint DLL and TOT, AT&T DLL (because this is a AT&T/Sprint ROM I installed, D950 is the model number flash tool believes it is) and Sprint TOT, did not work either way. Nothing on flash tool has worked.
I have more answers if needed, but that's what it's like right now. Won't boot, won't go to recovery, and because of the ROM I used, flash tool won't work over. I've pretty much come to the conclusion I am screwed, but I'd love somebody to prove me wrong, I really don't want this to be the fate... so am I bricked? Please let me know with any help... THANKS!
If you can access download mode you could flash D950 stock tot or 20a kdz. Then root and change build.prop to ls995 and flash stock sprint zv3.
Other process could be flash d950 stock root/twrp and then flash through twrp a stock zip of zv3 you can find it around (think its Dfuse who made this stock zip). Dont worry about cross dl I have done it a thousand times on mine and theres always a way around.
3rd way is to flash with a generic dll and stock zv3 tot.
If you need dll contact me thru PM.
I have same issue, almost. Flashed wrong rom but phone wont stay up long enough for me to edit the build.prop. rom is very unstable, and i cant find a stock rom for the model i flashed. (lg-d9550
Hi guys, I need your backup of your P10 to unbrick mine.
Short story: I have update xposed v90 then the phone bootloop, I have try a recovery but it was a Nugat recovery, then now my phone still want to boot on Erecovery that did'nt work for me. SO Your backup could probably save my phone. I have try to install the Stock firmware, nothing to do
Probably best off paying to use Dc Phoenix to unbrick your phone. That's what i had to do ?
If u have unlocked bootloader try to unbrick phone by flashing system via fastboot, like in that guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/how-to-unbrick-p10-fail-wipe-tutorial-t3666659
is there any reason why flashing twrps via ADB would send z5 pro gt into boot loop into bootloader unable to access the custom recovry or phone needing to do emergency flashing via qfil to stock firmware i did previously use trwps on device to flash files and to sign boot to always boot twrps recovery when trying to access recovery mode . (before bootlooping)
affter bootlooping and fixing via qfil i have been unable to successful install trwps if i do it bootloop to bootloader.
whats the difference between "meta" / "flat" options in qfil
tried locked and unlocked bootloader on both 10.5.304 and 11.1.021 also tried to go straight to recovery mode affter twrps flashing on both firmware same thing lead me bootloop needing to qfill to 10.5.30
another question can i qfil flash to 11.1.021 straight away without having having to qfil 10.5.30 then ota updating to 11.1.021..
thanks in advance

if you want OTA(over the air) updates you need to lock bootloader. otherwise the updater will say something like phone has been rooted and they cant provide you an update

>> Crash dump loop of 113 ROM burnt Z5PROGT can be restored by burning CNROM for the time being,
Even if I tried it again, it was useless, so if I look at the syntax at the time of batch execution, it seems that vbmeta.img is not burned.
It says unrecognised option `--disable-verification '.
This time, the boot loader loop only started, and TWRP couldn't start.
This time it may be packed

I'm sorry I want to confirm.
Where did you use the fastboot command?
①fastboot --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
②fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
It is ① that I instructed, but it looks like there are two kinds when I check it on the net.
He seemed to have hit it without knowing it.
Excuse me, can you hit both again?

>> I burned 113 ZUI11 version Gro ROM.
I re-added TWRP, but when I started it, it was usable normally, so I could add Magisk,
After that, it only seems to be unavoidable that it only starts up in normal recovery mode.
It is troublesome to do it every time you want to use TWRP, but it can't be helped.

I have unlocked the bootloader of my V40 and formerly had TWRP on the phone and unsuccessfully attempted to flash Lineage16. I used LGUP to restore a KDZ of the original firmware afterwards and it boots into the stock Pie firmware great but I can't get it to boot into recovery mode at all. Under no circumstances will recovery mode work, TWRP or stock. Which partition is the recovery mode on and why isn't flashing with LGUP restoring it? I tried several LGUP flashes, most with Refurbish in hope of getting my recover back but no luck! Please let me know anything I can try. If I knew where the recovery was I may be able to restore the partition using QFIL, right? Thanks!
So uh, bought a retail V40 to use as a glorified MP3 player for cheap. And immediately bricked it because I'm incapable of following directions. Basically, the bootloader is unlocked using the Snapdragon 9008 EDL method, and fastboot is working (boots directly to fastboot, nothing else), but I proceeded to flash SGCMarcus's TWRP recovery image to it without A. backing anything up from boot a or boot b or B. realizing that that image required the phone to be running Pie, which it is not (instead running Oreo).
So what are my options? Does anyone have the TWRP image made for Oreo? I believe there was one that existed at some point but I can't find it anywhere. If not, what should I do next? To be specific this is the V409V, the Verizon variant of the phone. But retail.
It's not a huge loss if the phone is a goner, but I'd like to resurrect it if possible. Thanks.
