Downgrade from LOS15 (Android 8.x) to 7.x?

Hi.
I want to downgrade my Mi5 from current Android 8.1.0 (LineageOS 15.1.-xxxxxx) to final stable 7.x.
Is it safe to just do a clean flash via FlashBoot with some MIUI stock ROM on 7.x and then TWRP to LOS 14?
Or would I experience some massive foooooook with partitions or sth?

If you want to go to Android 7.x rom from 8.x.x you may need to Format Internal Storage **if your phone was encrypted**.
You can also just flash lineageOS 14.1 because if you use LOS 15.1 you must use Facebook 8.5.x.x and above . That's enough for all of Android 7.x ROMs

Yes. Wip all options. I did it and back to 20180220 version, using now.
After full wipe, use ADB to pull the .zip (rom and gapps) to the phone (I thought that is the best way) then flash this by TWRP.
Looks much better at all. Here could be, i need to fix somethings:

Can I flash any GSI ?

My device is Treble supported & A-only Arm64 system.
Can I flash any A-only ARM64 GSI rom ?
I tried couple of A-only Arm64 GSI's, those flash successfully but my device start and Redmi logo appears and its restart again & again.

Use arm64 ab gsi rom. Like havoc os. I am also using Havoc os 3.6 gsi ARM64 AB partion.

Google is your friend, BUT here is the LOS link for Android 10/11/12 (official mirror'd). Get Google cam from playstore, root it, and install whatever MODs you need. LOS isnt the most customizable ROM, BUT its the MOST stable and weekly updated, and ROCK SOLID (I have NO ISSUES EVER). I wouldnt go with anything less than LOS 19.1 (Android 12), its ROCK SOLID but up to you. If you wanted Android 10 or 11, download it from the link below and follow the same steps to install:

Hey all! The final 19.1 unofficial are rolling right now.
From here on it will be 20 builds for these devices only when it comes to unofficials.
The device will continue receiving official 19.1 for some time - as bluetooth is broken on 20 without some nasty hax right now.

where can i download the unofficial build, the official build does not pass safety net, and i don't want to use magisk
