I installed China Stable 8.2 but no GAPPS, how to install them ?
You need to install Google play services, play store, service framework, account manager, contact sync, calendar sync apks manually.
You won't get them worked on CN Stable or Dev rom.
No Google services will work.
You can install Xiaomi.eu rom which is based on CN Stable and CN Dev(weekly) but it supports Gapps.

I wonder, why do you think so?
[Cuz Eu rom has much more features, better RAM management and battery performance.
Again they enabled Camera api 2. Though it's not a full control over the camera but you know, something is better than nothing. Specially with Open camera and ProShot we can capture RAW image.
Afterall it's a stock Rom but with some good modification.
GIVE IT A TRY.

It works for me on 8.0.12 china stable. Give them all permissions in security. I don't know on latest 8.2.2 though. Btw they provide an installer on mi app store, give it a try.

Using Google Installer you can install Google Services and Play store but that doesn't work well.

Yes There's eu rom for redmi 4.
Tutorial is similar to flash a custom rom.
just one thing you need to remember that you can't wipe system before installing eu rom.
So.
Unlock your device
install TWRP
Boot into TWRP
Wipe your Internal Storage & Data or you can just do a factory reset from Wipe menu. ( It's a must for newer Xiaomi device as it's encrypted by Xiaomi.)
After wiping Internal Storage & Data reboot system.
Your phone will be started as new now.
Go through the setup wizard to finish boot.
Now download eu rom for your device.
After downloading boot into TWRP.
Make a Backup of your current ROM ( Optional but recommend.)
Wipe Data, Cache but DON'T WIPE SYSTEM.
Install Eu rom.
After Installing don't wipe cache.
Reboot system.
Done.

One thing you need to remember, If you're on China rom and you don't have Google apps on your rom, you won't get Google apps after flashing eu rom.
So for unlocking your device flash Global Dev rom first and unlock. ( Without dev rom you can't unlock your device.)
As Global Dev rom has full package of Gapps so there's nothing to worry about.
After flashing Eu rom you'll get the Gapps.

I think you misunderstand something. It doesn't matter which rom you use china, global or custom ones, xiaomi.eu will always have google services. They are built-in in xiaomi.eu. Btw, you won't get incremental ota in xiaomi.eu. You need to download full rom to upgrade.

Actually I tried.
I flash eu rom over my Global rom. After rebooting with eu rom all the gapps package was there. Then again I flash eu rom over RR. On RR I didn't flash Gapps. So after flashing eu rom I didn't find any gapps there. Then again I flash back RR, Install Gapps. Then again flash eu rom over it. This time I got the Gapps. As I flash Pico Gapps on RR so I only got Play Store on eu rom.
Remember, xiaomi.eu ask you not to wipe system. That's the reason. It's like an OTA update.
If you install eu rom like an ordinary ROM it will be in bootloop.
I might be wrong but literally I'm not

Would suggest the global stable ROM at this point. It's got great RAM management and is running really smooth and at times more stable wrt to LOS and AOSP ROMs. Plus even the battery life has been quite decent too

No sir!
Battery drain is a little bit faster in the Global Stable, thats why I suggest eu ROM, its almost debloatedand optimized at some point..
HI,
it's my first post here, i've bought a xiaomi x4, 4gb ram version, and i'm wondering which Operating System should i use in my phone; i come fom an iphone 4s so i'm glad to have the opportunity to install an open-source SO. I see lots of costum roms and really great stuff but i use the phone just for the browsing, e-mails, messages and phone calls so the phone has to be fast and stable; Reading around shows me that costum rom means "eventual problem with stability and functions...crashes.." and so i'm questioning myself, what's the problem with the official xiaomi global rom? does it have logger or something? and maybe it's possible to install a fresh standard version of an android open os or it has to be "coded" or "ported" for my xiaomi hardware?
Thanks in advance for any answer
Official MIUI is full of bloatware: China apps, useless Google apps, Facebook and MS office preinstalled and such. For your need, I recommend trying Resurrection Remix 7.1.2 if you like the look and cleaned from any xiaomi apps, else try xiaomi.eu MIUI ROM, or MIUIpro rom for unbloated software with good performance and battery life. without sacrificing features.

Not really. Try to get used to one. I'd recommend miuipro or xiaomi.eu rom if you want to stick to MIUI. If you want to try AOSP Nougat, I highly recommend official Resurrection Remix 7.1.2. On Oreo, I dont know, you could try Pixel Experience or Nitrogen. But I recommend sticking to Nougat, either MIUI or AOSP.
ok i understand! i think i'll gonna try miui rom.eu and Kernel Clarity, they seems interesting! and for AOSP did you mean This?
Well if you are just a casual user, i would recommend you to stay with the latest official miui rom. Its the most stable, fast and snappy rom for this device. Its ui is similar to iOS.
As Far as bloatware is concerned, if you can unlock its bootloader, boot(not flash) twrp through pc, flash magisk and then uninstall all bloatware.
Else just put them all in one folder and cut off background data for them.
I personally won't recommend you to flash custom rom unless you want to taste pure Android ui because custom roms are not as refined as official roms.
Rest is upto you!

this seems to me a wise advice! thank you! but what about just the kernel, it's the same argument? i think i'll start with your solution, baby steps!

yes and no. If a custom kernel is providing you a feature which is very essential for your usage(like fast charging or something), you can go ahead. Else there is no problem with stock one.
Another thing is stock kernel is GENERALLY safe from technical viewpoint. Custom kernels may/may not be safe because some of them just experiment with the device's voltage and other essential values which were earlier optimised scientifically. Flashing those may not be safe at all. So do your research really really well before flashing anything custom coz they might damage your device (that's rare, but still!)

Also, whether you step into this flashing world or not, never forget to backup your stock system, boot, efs and recovery. I have had experiences where my device just got dead without any reason. And that too without tampering anything. Everything stock with no flashing and locked bootloader.
Try AOSP ROM for pure android experience. (I'm using AOSP Extended with Oreo 8.1, work like a charm!)
finally my phone has arrived and i figured out that i bought a redmi NOTE 4x...to which section do i refer on this forum? the redmi note 4 or redmi 4x?
By the way i have a miui global 9.5 and i like it, very fast and smart! i don't see "chinese bloatware", what did you mean exactly?

How can i do all this things?
Hello, I am currently running the global stable miui 8.1.4.0 on my mi5 and have gotten tired with Xiaomi not being able to make a good, stable rom for the mi5 so I have decided that I will flash a custom rom. Last time I rooted my phone was back when everybody used clockworkmod recovery so some things have changed.
1. My first question is which is the most stable rom for mi5. I don't care about android version or features I just want everything to work as well as possible.
2. Secondly, if I flash a custom rom will I pass safteynet if I have magisk installed?
3. What twrp should I use? I have heard about one called coffee which seems to be popular. or should I use some other?
4. How is the camera quality in custom ROMs compared to the stock rom(I will install the google camera when flashing the rom)
Thanks in advance!
Can anyone recommend a stable custom ROM that has working Google pay functionality for the mi 9
There are a lot of different Roms and as far as i know All of them are able to use gpay now. But if you want a stable Rom you have to use stock or xiaomi.eu stable Release. I think we will never get a stable aosp base for custom Roms. There are people telling this or That custom rom is stable but a lot of users report Bugs for the same Roms. I wasnt able to find any realy (long time) stable custom rom for the mi9

I think derpfest has gpay support. Check it, it's rn the most stable rom I've tested on this device.

My apologies
Hi guys,
actually, I´m trying to bring my Mi9 back to life with a new battery. Since now, I´m on xiaomi.eu 12.5.6.
In order to keep my Mi9 updated, I tried to figure out, which Custom ROM I´d go for. Criteria are every day use (stability, battery lifetime, smoothness, security updates). Conclusion after reading the threads is that most official 11.0 ROMs do very well (for example crDroid, Havoc, …). Since twrp still doesn´t support encryption, I´d go for 11.0.
Another point is a good cam out of the box (using all lenses and features and compareable to stock quality). Or do I need to install gcam to reach this goal?
Thx in advance for suggestions, I know the question for „best ROM“ is pretty much too simple, but I´d like to get a starting point…
how did you get xiaomi.eu 12.5.6? I saw only chinese
