Hi guys,
Just bought the Mi MIX running MIUI9 from eBay and the seller has been great, it initially had MIUI "find my device" active, so I flashes Lineage OS as it came with the bootloader unlocked, but Lineage OS shows FRP locked, weird because I though deleting System/Cache/Data partitions would remove the FRP lock, so asked the seller to remove the FRP and MIUI find my device remotely, so he did, FRP still shows on Lineage OS even after re-flashing, so got the MIUI 8 Beta fastboot ROM and flashed it, find my device from MIUI is gone and FRP seems to be gone as well, but here comes even more weird stuff, after this I did a clean flash of the EpicRom MIUI 9 based ROM and FRP is back, so fastboot flash again MIUI 8 and all is good, flashed Lineage OS and FRP is back on? How is this possible?
If the seller removed the device from his google account, this should not happen, unless it takes some time for it to replicate to the device, it's been 3hrs since he removed the FRP and still having issues, MIUI find my device took about 30min to replicate. Have you guys ever seen anything like this? Any ideas what is going on, why FRP is an issue on Nougat ROMs?
FRP status is managed in misc or frp partitions, not system/cache/data.

Thanks for the reply =) any idea how to clear those partitions? I found a work around, to use MIUI 9, I first installed MIUI 8 ROM and setup all accounts, then upgraded to MIUI 9 and still everything works, but when I reset the phone, FRP is back =/, but at least I can used MIUI 9 now without any issues, to use Lineage OS, also found a work around, installed Lineage OS without GAPPS, completed the setup and then flashed GAPPS, all working fine as well, haven't tried to reset after getting Lineage OS working, maybe I'll try it sometime this week, but if there is a way to clear the partitions mentioned above, please let me know.
Thank you again =)

1: you can use microg instead of the regular gapps
2: only setupwizard within gapps is querying for FRP
3: try flashing the fastboot rom from http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Remember to select flash all partitions

I've tried the flash_all from the fastboot rom, but didn't work, so it seems that this does not touch the FRP/misc partitions? I'll try microg later, thanks for the support.
Sorted, guess when I got Lineage OS installed and then GAPPS setup, the FRP/MISC partition got updated with my google account, FRP issue gone, yay, now I have full control of my phone

Hi, so if you are in RR already, you will need to erase system and data partitions through twrp, and then install only RR ROM zip file, don't install GAPPS zip file, gapps is what will ask for frp lock, so install only the zip file for RR ROM and you will be able to boot just fine, don't worry about gapps for now, because after you setup the RR ROM, you can flash GAPPS through twrp and then setup your Google account when you start the play store. That's what I did and worked just fine ? let me know if this helped.
As far as I remember; the FRP(factory reset protection) was related to OEM unlock option on Samsung devices. So, to avoid this protection; users had to enable and keep it enabled the OEM unlocking option in developer settings. I think that happens(on mix) if you've received your device with unlocked bootloader(probably unlocked by unofficial way). I've got unlocked mine by my own account officially so never seen the FRP(probably the warning text is like: custom binary blocked by FRP) error when I was flashing in 9 months. Just saying
FRP lock
Hi,
so are you saying that if you have a samsung phone, unless if the original owner removes it from their account, the lock will always be there no matter what you do?
if yes, how do you remove phone from samsung account?
Hey guys, i got this problem:
When I flash the wayne image with MiFlash in EDL Mode, but the only i get is my phone bootloop (Infinite restart).
I heard that i got to flash with Mi A2 at Oreo version, but i have tried to do it from Oreo and Pie and nothing is changing
you are doing something wrong, check the guides https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/miui-10-install-guide-t3844729
to install miui 10 pie, you also need to install kernel hex v288 (find it in the forum)

Hi! I have the MIUI 12.0.1.0 stable ROM but I do not like it at all, is there any way to go back to MIUI 11?
I do not have the bootloader unlocked but I can do it if it's necessary, but where can i find the stable build from MIUI 11 for the Mi 9T Pro?
Which steps must I follow to downgrade the ROM? Do I really have to install TWRP or it fits if I do it with only the bootloader unlocked?
When I do it, will I lose all the media like pics?
What's wrong with MIUI 12? The biggest surface changes are the font (which you can change via the Themes app), battery icon (this shouldn't matter enough to risk bricking your device), and the new control panel, which can be reverted in settings.
Downgrading OS will require you to wipe your entire device, otherwise you'll risk bricking it, so I very, very strongly suggest that you unlock your bootloader and install magisk so that you can solve your issues either through settings or by rooting, rather than downgrading OS.
I agree with AvgZing. Although unlocking bootloader is safer imo.
Miui12 isn't much different from miui11. and the control center can be disabled. You'll get updates that fix any miui12 bugs soon anyways. So just stick with what you have.
You have reason guys, i forgot I can change the contorl panel and do some modifications to customize the apperance. Thank you!
I wanna downgrade too, I've been getting horrible battery life on my Mi 9T after this update. When I bought it last year december, and it was amazing with 12 hours of screen on time, now barely makes it to 5

miui10 was a beast. it ran android pie, and gives 12hrs sot easily.
however 5hrs is very very low, you might want to consider battery damage?
Do try some aosp roms.
via root, I use naptime and servicely apps to reach 12hrs sot as well even on android 10, all aosp roms
Standby drain in MIUI10 was as it should be.
I don't actually use my Mi9T Pro heavily; most of the time it's standby. I went from charging once a week to every two days as soon as I switched to MIUI11. Clean flash, still a new handset. No change in usage. MIUI11 is absolutely terrible for battery life.
... and you're telling me it's worse in MIUI12!?
Something is seriously wrong with the updates for this device.
As in, 'get your pitchforks' bad.
Is there a way to go back to miui 10 from 12? I love how that ran and I don't use these gimmicks

thanks sorry but what is OF recovery? And how does one get to it? I have a mi10 on miui 12 (maybe can only downgrade to miui 11 but nevertheless the procedure might be similar-so am asking) When I go to recovery, (Mi recovery 3.0) I see reboot, wipe data and connect with Miassistant (Mi suite never connects-not had any luck on various Xiaomi devices regardless of miui level on W10 or W 8.1). Thanks for any assistance.

Don't use stock recovery.
OF = Orange Fox Recovery
just google with your device name. U should get OF.
in order to flash OF u must have unlocked bootloader,
( and OEM unclocking must be enabled in Developer Options )
u can follow these steps,
TAKE ALL BACKUP IN LAPTOP/PC.
boot in OF recovery.
FORMAT DATA.
reboot to recovery again
connect device to PC
copy Recovery ROM ZIP file to device
flash
reboot
done...

The Mi PC Suite is a total mystery (never detects phone regardless which version-only thing remains not tried on Windows 7). It has not worked even on Mi Max 3, Mi Mix.
Miui 12 got my battery lasting 50% of what it did before and it changed my call volumes to 0... Hope I am able to revert

You can try with Mi flash (dont relock bootloader)
MIUI EU 12.5.4 not EEA but CN version
Set a lock screen lock, then go to twrp and use it to unlock and decrypt the storage
i was able to install twrp and that did the trick, BTW what's the downsize of installing twrp as my boot recovery... it's been a while since I mess with a phone but now my google messages says network not ready when sending a picture message, but i can received them, if I use the stock message app, I don't have any issues at all

There is no downsize. You are only replacing stock recovery with a different version. It has no affect on your phone, it's and your own data. It just makes it easier to flash custom or even returning to stock if required as well as other tools offered in the TWRP package.

Installing twrp doesn't install root. It just replaces the system recovery. If you really want root, use Magisk but I've not found any reason to root my phone for ages.
I tried today but it doesn't work.

Did you try setting a lock screen pin, pattern or pw and then using it to decrypt in TWRP? I'm using 3.5.1 twrp version fine.

Yes , mi pilot.
The first rom delivered with this phone is the best one (V13.0.1.0.RGCMIXM) , very light without making update for sys app and playstore app and the cam can record at 60fps.
This is my opinion.

Are there fastboot version for spesn and spes?
Phone bootloops when I try to update via OTA update. After installing the update it restarts and then bootloops just before entering the lockscreen.
I somehow managed to boot back to MIUI 13, and when I did there was a brief notification saying something like unsuccessful ROM update, download again. So I did. And the same thing happened again.
Does anyone have any solutions for this?

You can't only with unlocked bootloader
WiFi is not working on GSI images (TrebleDroid based) with V14.0.2.0.TGKMIXM Android 13. Works fine with 13.0.8.0 Android 12.
Everything works normally
1) Unlock bootloader first
2) Flash TWRP: Download
3) We put the MIUI 14 Rom on the sd card
4) We flash MIUI 14 Rom from TWRP
5) Reboot the system
For those who need a locked bootloader, we enter fastboot and run the command:
fastboot oem lock

Install it using the method I described above...
The only problem is with the screen rotation, on some sites when I turn on the video in full screen, it automatically stops working in full screen and the video turns off.
