Hi everyone, sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just curious to find out, I have a Huawei P10 on the way (UK) and was wondering if I could manually update it through the SD card method without Bootloader unlock. I'm not sure if the bootloader is unlocked yet, it should be here tomorrow. I have what I believe is the Harmony OS ROM file (update build VTRLGRP1CHN 10.2.0.0.106) and would like to install it to the P10. I'm not worried about losing GMS, in fact, that's my primary reason for wanting to get the Chinese ROM on it. any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Guys,
after busting my head for a full day trying different methods of doing the firmware finder option and using the firmware finder proxy tool. i managed to update my locked ee (uk) p9 from an earlier build no. to build no. c440b142 (official) but my emui version only changed to 4.1.3 and is still on marshmallow.
can anyone tell me where ive went wrong and what steps i need to do? i thought that if i done the full ota tutorial after watching the youtube clip i would have nougat installed but it hasnt. i still have all my files and photos after the update :/
im lost....do i need to pay EE an unlock fee or do i need to do something else?

EE sent me a text saying my phone is already unlocked so what do i have to do now? do i have to get my phone rooted and pay money to do this?

Take a look if there is a nougat update for your cust. If there is not you can debrand your phone with the link above.

dont know what you did with your phone, but for my EVA-L19C432B210 i got update to EVA-L19C432B386 with no problems using standart phone updater.
there can be problems if you unlocked bootloader /rooted your phone, someone say, you never will get updates, but on rooted phone i got updates too.
you can dload method downgrade your version to B136 files here
dont wory that there is EVA-L09, its works for EVA-L19 too, for me it was all my problems solver!

There are different custs, different builds. How could people help you if you don't provide crucial info, what exactly is your firmware - like EVA-L09 c432 b394 or what

As you know they already released the Official Android 9.0 Pie for Huawei P20 Pro in EU.
I have the previous version of Android 8.1 CLT-L29.
My devices is:
-Rooted
-Bootloader unlocked.
Can I update via OTA to Android 9.0?
Is there any problem during the upgrade?
Will be still rooted and bootloader will be still unlocked?
If not what is method to do upgrade and still have a Root?

You need to flash stock recovery first.
You will not continue to rooted.
Your bootloader will remain unlocked

I am not that sure about the root process at the moment and I don't want to loose it.
I don't think there are that many new noticeable features. EMUI looks and behaves pretty much the same.

I bought a Mi 9 last week, and an update was offered out of the box. It was 11.0.6.0(QFAEUVF) and I installed it. I've done a little research since then and the VF stands for Vodafone. My problem is that I don't have anything to do with Vodafone. My SIM card is from another provider (Telenor). The phone works great and I don't have any problem at all, but is it something I should worry about? I'm afraid I won't be able to upgrade to MIUI 12.
Can I just download and install the offical EU rom on my phone without unlocking the bootloader, TWRP and do other things i'm not familiar with?
For example if I downloaded the 11.0.9.0 QFAEUXM from here could I just simply install it without voiding my 2 year warranty? Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm really New to this stuff
