The games and the launchers were working fine, but then after not playing for few days when I tried opening the Counter Strike: GO, I first noticed that error. Thought restarting would solve the issue and went to play Red Dead Redemption 2. But the next day too there was the same error. Then when I tried starting Steam, there was the same error.
I have tried almost all the mentioned solutions found on the web, except the Clean Installation part, none of them has worked so far. So far have found the errors on all Steam related games and Origin PC related games. Rockstar Games and the launchers work perfectly fine.
As far as I know, I did uninstalled some of the Microsoft Build Tools while installing Visual Studio 2019. This might have caused the issue. But I cannot pinpoint the exact cause.
What I've tried so far
Re-installing all Visual C++ Redistributable from 2005 - 2019
Re-installing Dirext X
Updating the dll files
Running All-In-One Runtime packs (Visual C++)
Checking hard drive for corrupted files with sfc /scannow and chkdsk commands
Device Info: Asus ROG Strix G15 - 533QM, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060, 1 TB nVme SSD, Windows 10 (19044.1415)
I am really sorry if this wrong forum for this.
Have you tried either uninstall steam or origin after uninstall Microsoft visual c++?
Those will reinstall missing components.
not exactly in that order... i will try doing that and inform here... thanks for the suggestion
Ok , Resetting the PC (deleting everything) worked for me... Clean Windows Installation should work too..
This is how to fix Origin error 0xc00007b- unable to start correctly:
Open the start menu and search for ‘CMD’.
Right-click it, and hit run it as administrator.
When it opens, type in: ‘chkdsk c: /f /r’ and hit Enter. Type the command without the quotation.
Type in ‘Y’ and hit Enter again.
Restart your PC.
Once your system has restarted, try to install Origin, or launch it once more, depending on for what this error occurred.
Hope this helps.

I re-installed Windows, and that solved the issue for me...

yes I did that... I did uninstall and re-install Steam, but that did not solve it... Clean Windows installation did solve it though

Everything was fine before until my system got crashed and I had to run XP recovery disk, after the incidence, every time I connect my phone, a window pops up and asks me to install driver for the android phone. I tried everything, every driver from the oldest sdk and the lastest wouldn't solve a freaking problem. It says: Cannot install this Hardware. Fatal error during installation. I did uninstall driver, rollback, update, use "regedit" to remove everything that has "adb" and "android" but none is working. I even go to the C:\WINDOWS and delete the: android_usb, WdfCoinstaller01005.dll and reinstall but still not working. This has been going for 3 months, I scratch my head till it bleeds and did a tremendous of research till the google page burns down, but i can't find a solution. Changing cable and different usb port don't help too. It works on my laptop tho. Can't seem to solve the problem, I never thought i would ask this question here for help. Tell me what you think?
If it was my computer I would just reformat the whole thing instead of repairing it.
so i have a problem installing the wp7 sdk and developer tools. my system is windows 7 x64, a fresh install. I cant install the dev tools fully. i have tried the file from the msdn site, and it seems to install ok, but it does not install all the components and i am missing the wp7 dev tools. there is no error message or anything else to indicate a problem. after a few reboots, uninstalls and reinstalls, i tried the minisdk, and the setup runs and says 'gathering required information' then closes and nothing more happens.
I have tried hard resetting the phone, and have re-flashed it today
bump
still have this issue. on windows 7 32bit, it installs fine, so maybe it isnt compatable with 64 bit?
Yesterday i had a problem with a Win XP computer where the ADB driver just didn't want to install. The worst part was that on that particular PC it worked correctly some time ago.
After a lot of digging around I've found out that the problem was that somehow the "WDF01005" (which is actually "Microsoft Kernel-Mode Driver Framework Feature Pack 1.5", on some sites it was listed as "KMDF Coinstaller 1.5") was not installed. Of course, searching the net for it didn't get me any closer to a solution.
Anyways, to make a long story short, i managed to fix it by creating the uninstall registry entry for it, it seems that i did have it installed (or maybe i had a newer version installed) all along just that the reg-entry got deleted.
Here's the reg file :
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Wdf01005]
"SystemComponent"=dword:00000001
(just save it into "fix_wdf01005.reg" and double click it to install it with Regedit, or you can add the key manually and add a DWORD value with the name "SystemComponent" and value of 1.)
So, if you ever get the error that Windows XP cannot install the "Android Platform Sooner Single ADB Interface" driver then you might want to see if you have the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Wdf01005" key as it is used by the driver installation and if it's missing then it fails and the driver is not installed.
I hope it helps others too,
P.S. i just tested, it worked for my Samsung phone too, it also failed to install the Android ADB driver and thus the ADB command said "error : device not found", now it worked correctly, it even found the drivers it needed through Windows Update so i didn't have to install anything manually.
Thank you so much! This worked like a charm!
My Windows XP used to work with adb, now it fails to install it.
Then I read this thread and now adb is working happily on my Samsung Galaxy Gio!
Thanks!
Thanks man.
you really helps me a lot.
[sorry for bad english]
instructions for domies...
Can you tell me exactly how do that, please? I'm having the same issue. The file doesn't exist in my registry. How do I get it?
Thanks. You're a blessing.
hi i have not problem with installation in my windowx xp...but its takes too long...i think some time 10 to 20 mins..so is there any way to install adb driver installation fast...plz suggest me solution...thnks and advance
~~~ Problem ~~~
On my Windows 8.1 x64 machine I was finding that when running any of the following HTC RUU (ROM Update Utility) apps for my Sprint HTC One M7_WLS they would start then disappear after accepting the terms:
RUU_M7_WL_L50_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_6.23.651.6_Radio_1.01.20.1225_CNV_CNV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_425282_signed_2.exe (my version - file name matches my phone status exactly)
RUU_M7_WL_L50_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_6.23.651.10.exe (newest version)
~~~ Short answer ~~~
check Windows Event Logs (run eventvwr.exe & go to Windows Logs -> Application) to confirm error type (SideBySide, Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90, x86)
install "Visual C++ Redistributatble Package (x86)" package from Microsoft (I'm too new to post URLs so try something like microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29)
try RUU again
~~~ Long answer ~~~
In both cases:
the app would start (sucking up a bunch of disk IO)
the "RUU - InstallShield Wizard" window would eventually show (agonizingly slowly advancing the progress bar)
upon clicking the "accept the terms" option and clicking the Next button, the app would end with no further message (but as far as I can tell the C:\Users\<my user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}\ folder has been cleaned up)
I tried various fixes suggested by other sites including "Compatibility mode" changes, running as administrator, even disabling driver protection! (That reminds me, I should turn that back on.)
In the end I finally worked on this when it wasn't in the wee hours of the morning and realized that if something was crashing, it should be leaving an Event Log entry.
So, in looking at the Application Events log I found a SideBySide "Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90" error on architecture "x86" for version "9.0.21022.8" when running ARUWizard.exe (which must be what InstallShield called after unpacking all the files).
A quick web search for "VC90" told me I was missing a Visual C++ 2008 library and the "x86" architecture told me I needed the x86 (32 bit) version of the library even though (or perhaps BECUASE) I'm running on a 64 bit OS.
Microsoft kindly provided that library for me in their downloads at microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29 (wow - id=29...how old IS this library?!?).
After installing "Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)" [yes, x86 even though I'm on x64 OS] I WAS able to run the RUU exe past the "accept terms" screen - I didn't even need to reboot!
In the end I was able to succesfully unbrick AND update my phone to the 6.23.651.10 firmware giving me the latest (to-date) version including the "Stagefright" patch AND network improvements.
I have no idea why in this 64 bit world HTC would put out an updater expecting to find a 32 bit library, but hey - at least they provide an awesome tool for those of us idiotic enough to brick our own awesome devices!
Hopefully this helps others who are running into the same issue I did - good luck!
This is great! I had this issue and couldn't figure it out. You win one Internet for today.
Do you mind if I include this information in my RUU guide? I've already submitted it to be included in the FAQ.
[Wow - I didn't realize I've had my HTC One for 2 years now. ]
I run Fedora 27 on an XPS 15 9560, and I've got Bumblebee installed. I believe that I'm using the latest versions of everything. Android Studio runs absolutely fine, but the emulator only successfully boots once per session. If I close the emulator and relaunch it after that, the whole machine freezes, and the only recourse is to hard reset. No logs, no nothing. I've tried several different varieties of the emulator: All four pixels and a few of the Nexus emulators, and the symptoms persist.
Interestingly, if I run the emulator on my discrete GPU with optrirun, I get this output:
Code:
/opt/Android/Sdk/emulator/qemu/linux-x86_64/qemu-system-i386: /opt/Android/Sdk/emulator/lib64/libstdc++/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.8' not found (required by /usr/lib64/VirtualGL/librrfaker.so)
/opt/Android/Sdk/emulator/qemu/linux-x86_64/qemu-system-i386: /opt/Android/Sdk/emulator/lib64/libstdc++/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.9' not found (required by /usr/lib64/VirtualGL/librrfaker.so)
I've been googling and sleuthing for about 3 hours now, and I'm stumped. Apparently, I have to install these missing C++ dependencies to try to fix this, but I have no idea how to do that, and even if I do, the problem might persist. If anyone has a solution to this, it would make my year. Any clues at all are appreciated.
