Hi - unfortunately I naively thought the detailed model numbers related to specific regions and so my research indicated that R840NZSAXS was the Australian Version but the one I received was clearly for the middle east. Hence I am seeking the appropriate firmware. I have flashed several A model phones but am new to the watches. Easy Firmware seems to have limited firmware or maybe I am searching incorrectly. It would also help if anyone can explain the firmware version/model number structure. Thanks in advance.

I have a tricky question:
How can I find out the actual, REAL hardware model I have? D5803 or D5833? When I check Settings-->About phone-->Model number, I get D5833, but I don't know if this setting shows the ACTUAL device model, or the flashed ROM's. Does anybody know? In case it's the ROM's, how can I find out the real hardware model I have? (Before you tell: I threw away the box and invoice long ago.)
Background: A few months ago I flashed a prerooted 5833 ROM (working fine, so far). However, since both 5803 and 5833 ROMs are virtually interchangeable and can be flashed to both models, the problem is now I don't remember if I flashed the version matching my actual model. (Back then, I just wanted to get the latest pre-rooted and didn't care much about matching versions.)
Thank you in advance. (I hope this is not double posting: I've searched the forums but haven't found an answer to this particular.)

It shouldn't make any difference, the difference between the models is to do with the 4G bands available to the phone. If the 4G is working then you probably have the right model.
Why not use Xperiafirm to find the correct firmware for your country/provider, then download the firmware and use Flashtool to create a tft, then flash just the baseband. That will give you the correct modem, regardless of what build you have on the phone, and won't change the rom in any way.
Thank you @Didgesteve for your answer. I know what you mean (and I already did that). But my question remains:
How do I find which of the two existing Z3 Compact models am I holding in my hand?
I'd rather not engage in debating the baseband or ROM differences. The fact is: both models, D5833 and D5803, aren't identical; and I want to know which one is mine.
Never mind my country. I bought it second hand and I can't know exactly where was it bought. The information in the "About phone" settings only tells the flashed ROM, but not the supporting hardware.
My guess is, perhaps only the serial number may have that information embedded. But how do I get the model out of the serial number?
Anybody?
Thank you.

If you open the flap where you put the sim in, look closely under the sim slot is a thin piece of plastic, you might need tweezers to pull it out.
Printed on that is the model number and serial number and a european CE mark
Excellent! That worked. Thanks a lot. I guess I'll try to label this as solved.
Hi,
I'm not very familiar with flashing Samsung devices so please excuse me if this is a silly question.
For awhile, I was given a Note 9 (SM-N960F) to test for work and I was able to flash the latest firmware almost regardless of the region that received the update. I'd download the 4gb file and use Odin to flash away. Very simple.
Now that I had to give the phone back, I got myself an S10 (SM-G973W) with Telus here in Canada and I'm not sure what I can safely flash. If I look at Samfirm for SM-G973W it seems rather limited, I can find the March update or the April update but that's it.
Is it because those are the only two firmwares available? Are there alternative regions I can keep an eye on for quicker updates? Is it that Canadian carries simply didn't make an update available with April security updates?
Thank you

"F" is the international model with European and Latin American CSCs. "W" is Canada only. No additional regions or countries will be available.

Thank you, looks like it's going to be waiting for OTAs for me!
Hi is it possible to flash an S10 Exynos from the Vodafone branded firmware to the plain unbranded firmware?
If so is anybody able to point me in the right direction for a guide to doing so? The phone is already network unlocked, I just want to get updates at the same time as everyone else, at the moment I'm still on the July security patch for example.
I've searched through a lot of results but am really struggling since the words 'unlock', 'firmware', 'flash', 'stock' etc come up in so many threads.
Hey guys,
I've been up and down the forums looking for answers and come out thoroughly confused, so thought it would be best to ask for help from the professionals.
I am in New Zealand and have recently purchased an imported S10 from the states (site never said it was imported, would have gone local had I known), model SM-G973U. I've since realised that the phone will not update, and has been stuck on the June security patch since I got it. Contacted Samsung NZ and they said that because the phone isn't approved by my local carrier (Spark) no updates are getting pushed through.
I've thought of flashing a Spark-based version of the phone so I can receive updates but because the local versions of this phone are a different model (SM-G973F) I'm worried whether this will even work or if it will brick my phone entirely.
Is this something I can safely do, or will I have to resort to flashing updates manually?
Thanks guys, these forums really are great.

Hi dude,
Don't try to update your G973U with a G973F firmware coz SoC of those devices are different ! Your model has a snapdragon but G973F (international S10 version) has an Exynos (Samsung made chipset).
What you can do if you really want to update it is to download this firmware and flash it through latest Odin (google or youtube this if you don't know how to proceed).
P.S. Firmware I linked here is the USA unbranded one, idk really know if this CSC will support your local carrier so make a backup of your device before processing !
Hey sorry I've been too caught up in life to try this until now, but I gave that firmware a go, flashed it with the latest odin and it's worked without a hitch, carrier settings intact and all.
Thanks for the guidance!

so i bought my s10 from dubai and came to india and had to factory reset the device. now i have use indian version and samsung pay changed to indian version as well. . even the mobile signal is getting messed up.
what do i have to do to change back to the original version. please help
Depends on the actual model number you have, so you need to tell us that. Snapdragon phones vs Exynos phones have different procedures.
Once you identify which you have, there are threads here on how to flash stock roms. Read them carefully and ask questions there.
