Currently in the UK and gave my USA G781U1 to my mum. Set the device up without local UK SIM card installed don’t recall seeing or selecting an option for region ( no suprise ). After device was setup I inserted the UK sim, all smooth but after installing Uber Eats app it prompted for a zip code instead of post code. Even though the app itself was depicting currency in UK pounds. Any idea why?
I initially thought it was because the region country language was USA but it wasn’t. Cheers.
don't know the reason but go with Just Eat... the other lot are a right bunch of...

I bought a HD7 from London locked with O2. I used htcimieunlock and unlocked it.
Then i flew back to India and right now with the vodafone network. I can make calls and send text.
But when ever i go to the market place it says "feature not avialable for this region"
While i was in london had 02 card inserted and had tried to access market place and i had got the same message.
Am i a getting this because of a unlocked phone? Or there is genuinely problem with the region.
What do you guys suggest to get this fixed? As of now i cant use my pdf docs or any other softwares.
Also has anyone been able to find a file explorer in market place?
I have an unlocked phone and it's working fine, sounds like there's genuinely a problem with the Marketplace in India.
And there is no File Explorer app.
Thank you for replying.
Are you from london cause i will be there again in 3 days.
In settings is your region/location as United states or united kingdom?
Cause when i was in London last week it said, that i should change my location to US
Hi,
I'm from Birmingham, England's Second City, in the Midlands.
My Region is set to United Kingdom for all options. It shouldn't have said that when you were in London, I know I'm not actually from London but the chances of it varying through the UK are slim to non. The marketplace should work fine in the UK. Maybe there is something wrong with the software on your device?
If your live account is set to india then it will do that to you, no matter where you are in the world.
I'm using the hotmail id since last 5yrs plus. Now for a phone I'll have to change my identity..
I'll be in London on the 9th and I guess I'll findout then.
Has anyone been able to change to a different live id without resetting the device?
i bought my hd7 from london as well.works well in malaysia
Okay i am in London today and on the 3 network.
AND MY MARKET PLACE IS NOT WORKING.
My id is @hotmail.com and is not .in (india)
Wht do u think is going wrong here? Why does it still say not supported in your country/region.
The guy in malaysia....whats ur id...hotmail.com or something else..
While in London i made another live ID.
after making the ID i entered that ID in zune and wallah! i got connected to the market place and culd shop provided my phone had the same ID.
Since i am not game to change my 10year old ID, what i tried was i went to the optons of the newly made id. In the region there i changed it to United kingdon instead of united states which was by default.
I alt/tab to zune and then tried again and now mynew id which a while back could log in cannot log in to market place now.
I went again and made the changes to united states and guess what...IT STILL DOSENT LOG IN
S T A N G E
So i conclude that once u leave the region as united states then i guess you are doomed.
Wanted someone to check on this one
1: If anyone can go in their hotmail options and check their region there? People in UK is your region as united states or UK.
Would apreciate someone trying and letting me know this info
There are many people affected by this problem.u can search it at zune forum.at the moment marketplace only supports 2 place.eu and usa.so for people like us we need to create uk or usa region id to access the marketplace but we can only download trial and free apps.because we do not have usa or uk credit cards.hopefully microsoft will introduce buying apps using points like xbox console can do.and i believe side apps loading will be available.it is just a matter of time.
Hi,
I got one of those great phones a couple of days ago. The Chinese premium dual sim - EVA-AL10. It works with my mobile provider, but I have an issue with the mobile internet. It would not show the configuration SMS and when I attempted manual configuration it will not save the APN if I change the default MCC and MNC. The default phone values are MCC 204 and MNC 04. The technical support of my provider (Bob in Bulgaria) instructed me to enter MCC 284 and MNC 01. But if I do this, when I click save the configuration is not there. If I create it without changing the default values it saves, but if I change them later on save the configuration disappears as well. The support told me this could mean the telephone is locked or incompatible with networks outside of China, but they were not sure what the problems is. I am using the original Chinese ROM. The seller offered to flash something they called international version ROM, for the additional languages they said. I refused in order for the them not to unseal the box. I wonder if this "International" ROM is going to solve my problem, but I cannot find it anywhere? Or do I need some kind of unlock code or firmware? Any information is much appreciated!
My phone build number: EVA-AL10C00B151
Baseband: 21.198.00.00.031
Hi,
I received that very same model yesterday. I live in Spain and have no problem using it with 2 different operators here. I guess at least it works with some operators outside china.
Although I have no problem with my voice or internet access with either of the 2 SIMs, I am actively looking for an international ROM to flash it. As you may know, there are some non-removable chinese apps, being the more annoying the one that tries to update things with the chinese version of the program (HiApp). Voice detection is chinese oriented so some funny things happen when trying to activate the function Like when they force you to read the activation words in chinese, or the chinese words for answering the phone or others
My model is EVA-AL10, Android 6.0, EMUI 4.1 and compilation number EVA-AL10C00B168.
Ask your "seller" to explain you exactly "which" ROM they are going to use and that is in fact compatible with the capabilities of your hardware. Thing is I've been looking for an international ROM for this model since before I bought it but I wasn't able to find one. Make sure they do not use a ROM compatible with european models but which do not support dual sim. I think it is supposed to be released a version for european market but is still not released (EVA-L29). forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/eva-l29-stock-rom-eva-l10-t3387185/page2
Best of lucks!
Seb
What do you mean by "unseal the box"? Your provider wanted to flash the international version firmware for you. That is an official one therefore won't void your warranty. Moreover some chinese resellers like Alibaba do flash international version for phones sold outside of China. You can let the customer support of your provider to flash that version.
Hey,
My problems with data turned out to be, because the operator was instructing me to configure my Dutch sim instead of my Bulgarian one Figured that out, now internet access works great. Very nice phone! The seller would not give me any information about what ROM they were going to install. If you find an international version (after it gets out), please let me know.
I don't trust Chinese sellers too much. Better to use Chinese ROM than to have a phone that was thrown around a couple of months as demo device in some Chinese store.
Could somebody list all the chinese apps, which are installed out of the box? I just want to compare it with my Honor 7 (also chinese version)
Hi there.
I'm also purchased the Chinese version of P9 plus VIE-AL10, dual sim.
It's working just fine with both my operators (voice, internet, SMS, MMS and wifi) but I can't register my phone with Huawei ID cause supports only Chinese area phones. There are many apps needing Huawei ID to work and without it, are unusable...
So, I'm looking for a solution, if there is any.
My phone Version # is VIE-AL10C00B176
and I live in Greece.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Nicholas.
hI! I use this model EVA AL10 in India...The phone works flawlessly despite China specific firmware and the chinese language in the stock browser and other Huawei is only a minor annoyance. i was horrified when the android wear apps from Playstore AND HiApp refused to pair with my phone....i get a message ...use an android wear in china device! its such a shame...the only option seems to be rooting the phone and installing the international rom everyone keeps talking about...please help
I live in Ireland where Samsung pay is not supported but in the UK it is, if i had phone + watch3 bought in the official Samsung UK stores and a UK bank which supports Samsung pay, would it work in Ireland to pay in stores?
Also, i bought my s20 and the watch3 on eglobal.eu, the phone has a region of Golf region (united arab emirates) the watch3 has no idea what region is not sure they have any but i guess, i dont know how to check, so if the above is working is it possible to change the region of my s20 to UK and use Revolut or N26 or maybe even an actual UK bank card (i could get one)?
Unless you also want to use SPay on your phone, in my experience the region of your phone is not relevant for using SPay on your watch. I am not sure if this goes for your watch, but on my GW, bought in Holland, I was able to choose a region. What happens if you give your watch a reset (make a backup first), can you choose a region?
If so, choose one that supports SPay. If not, then you'll have to change the CSC of your watch to e.g.. BTU (IJK) or PHE (Spain).
Revolut doesn't support SPay, neither does N26 as far as I know. But if you get a Curve Card (UK based, supports SPay, but needs 1 or more credit cards assigned to it enable paying with it), assign your credit card to it (when you do, use a 5 digit zip code), and then enter your Curve Card as card to use for SPay, it should work.
You have to set Samsung Pay up on the mobile, which limits you to Irish settings if you want everything else to work with Irish stuff. Also, there isn't an Irish locale option on the watches. There are some people who's gotten themselves a Curve UK account and used that. That's at least what I've heard.
I'll wait though, I got an N26 account a couple years ago for Google Pay, not going to get one more empty account for this.
It is a bit annoying that Samsung Ireland doesn't seem to be bothered with enabling any features for Irish customers. We don't get the advanced features on newer watches either.
I just got a new S21 Ultra dual sim Latin American variant, because no US version dual sim Samsung exists. I have a US Version Galaxy Watch 3 that pairs nicely with it, except when the health monitor app on the phone tries to open for the ECG I get an error saying that it is not available in my location. I verified with Samsung that this is because the phone is a non US variant and there is no way around this limitation (according to them), even though ECG is cleared for use in my home country (USA).
So an idea I am exploring now is to send this phone back (still in return period) and buy a UK variant dual sim S21 Ultra. My reasoning is that ECG is cleared for use in UK and apparently the health monitor app is working for the UK. I asked Samsung tech support and the agent said I would not be able to get through the health monitor "onboarding process" from a physical US location using a UK origin device. She didn't think using a UK IP VPN would help any, but she didn't seem sure. Still it seems like a legit idea to me ... the phone is from an "ECG cleared" country and I live in an "ECG cleared" country. But does logic apply with Samsung . . . I am not so sure anymore.
Do you think this idea would work?
Any other ideas of how I could end up with a dual sim S21 on which the health monitor app (ECG, etc) would work . . . that wouldnt risk bricking my phone?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
So here is a second idea to run past the experts here:
change CSC (currently set to TPA ) to XAA using method in this link:
Change CSC on Samsung Devices | Guide | iHax
Looking for a way to change CSC/Country Specific Code on your Samsung Galaxy device? Here's a quick guide on how to do it easily.
ihax.io
I actually pulled up that radio button screen to see what it currently was, but I chickened out of changing it
1) would this change make my dual sim phone a single sim phone?
2) is there a chance it would be impossible to revert back to TPA if the change caused problems?
3) any chance this change would brick the phone?
4) since I have 2 imei numbers, what is the result of making this change on only one imei?
5) do you think this change would solve the problem of not being able to start up and "onboard" the health monitor app?
Changing a csc from dual sim variant to dual sim variant shouldn't have any impact on IMEI. Almost no chance to brick the phone.
CSC just define preinstalled apps and features (ECG, call recording...)
I would say its worth the try but I can't guarantee anything

thanks for that. Actually Id be changing CSC from dual sim variant (Latin America) to single sim variant (USA). Do you think that would cause issues ... like break the dual sim functionality?
So I backed up and looked at this complete mess Samsung has me in trying to kludge their products into working after I paid a hefty price for them and I made a decision. Im still in the return period on everything. So everything is getting boxed back up for return (chargers/watch/phone/cables/etc). Im going to take that money and put it into a dual sim Iphone12 and Apple Watch 6 which apparently works very well in the USA right out of the box with no complicated hacks. Been awhile since I hitched myself to the Apple Wagon ... we'll see how it goes. So long Samsung. RELIEF!
so i tried the iphone for awhile and I just couldnt do it anymore. so the new iphone went to the wife, and i got a Note 20 Ultra (Tmobile brand) today and the dual sim (using esim) does work . . . BUT
1) you have to endure Tmobile unlock policy nonesense
2) the dual sim functionality isnt as finely controlable as iphone or dual sim androids. you select one which of the esim/sim will be "primary" and it will use data. so you cant have the physical sim as the data user and the esim as the primary voice/sms line.
annoying , but not insurmountable issues.
not a bad phone, but the bronze color is actually more like a pink. a big plus for some would be the expandable memory.
a HUGE con is the price . . . 1300 USD
apparently ONLY the TMobile branded us version Note 20's have the esim enabled.
Have you checked the watch does not have to be from a country that supports ECG feature not the phone?
I cannot confirm whether or not the country of the watch itself has any effect. All I can say for sure is the phone has to be a version from a country that supports the ECG feature.
Or does it switch depending on your carrier?
for example go to settings, about phone, software information - then go all the way down and for service provider software version does it say xaa/xaa/xaa?
mine says att/att/xaa even though i have the xaa firmware flashed. My device is xaa which is why the third one says xaa and I bought it directly from samsung
so just wondering if the first 2 say att because i have an att sim and it installed some kinda carrier software?
What does yours say?

I don't have a U1, but my understanding is the 1st att/ means that's the active csc (accurate in your case). The 2nd att just means it's single sim, if it had att/att in that position it would mean dual sim. The last being xaa is accurate as it signifies country / region phone was mfg for.
In my case it says xaa/xaa/tmb. And that's right I think as my sim card is mint mobile (t-mo mvno), so the first xaa is probably because mint isn't a carrier. The 2nd xaa same as yours, single sim, and it's probably going to use the code of whatever the first one is, either once or twice (dual sim). And last, min is a t-mo device originally, so accurate.
A funny thing for me, just used odin to update to latest xaa today. Now, as opposed to prior, my device says it's a G973U1. No mistake, it actually says that now, it used to say G973U. No big I guess, as I think it only looks at the last part of the csc code to know what variant it really is.
cheers
@AsItLies is correct. You can't get the last one to change because that's what it's built for. It doesn't matter anyway, as it's just info... doesn't affect operation. Some carriers may blacklist devices based on IMEI, which would be the same as that last CSC (for example, Verizon, my previous carrier, would do this often, even though the phone works just fine since the software can adapt).
The first is active carrier and the second is SIM, as noted. Mine shows TFN/TFN/SPR (TFN = Tracfone... my carrier is a subsidiary of TFN called TotalWireless, so this all makes sense).
