As I am following the Pie (9.0.0) Nitrogen GSI build for MiMix2 and because it’s evolving quite well, I thought to follow up this project and give you updates when ready.
I converted the rom into a flashable twrp zip…easy right
Just follow with me the installation ...
Pre-requirements
*unlocked bootloader
*B12 bootloader / if you're already on it no need to reinstall
*twrp3.2.1-8 treble running
*a proper backup taken !
*installed vendor partition with Miflash
Installation
1. wipe system, vendor, data, cache
2. Install the treble v1.1 from NFound
3. Install my A2017X_9_NitrogenOS_20180821
4. Install the 3 post-sGSI file in order ! and be sure /vendor is mounted
5. Reboot
If first boot won’t start, force reboot. It’ll boot…wait a minute
After installation
*create an account and sync whatever you want to do
*Pie-NFC-fix thnx @kountry83
IMPORTANT : this fix works on other Pies too - up to you to test and see
*if you don’t hear anything when making a call just flash the incall2.zip (mount vendor and system), no need to update gms, reboot, make a call (toggle the loudspeaker in needed)
*there is an inbuild nav bar setup
*if you want to reverse softkey buttons, flash this
*perhaps you need to set your network to 'global' in settings
*rest is up to you....

Thanks for sharing this rom. Actually, I installed this rom using vendor partition created by Unjustified Dev lineage so no need to Miflash.

Depending on what you do, but tested on build 20180819 and drained battery as PPR1 and having the 5h SOT as before. Guess i'm having a good battery :cyclops:

No tint, at least not on mine. Echo is still there on my phone. For some annoying (as for me) for some it doesnn't. Fix still to come on all PPR1 builds. Hope there will be one soon.
But the progress as to customization is growing. Power menu, custom status bar... future will bring more to that.
Positive on these builds are playstore/services are running by default., camera by default,...
No lag, no heating
So fairly good imo.

1. In the OP, there is no mention of installing GApps. Are they included in the ROM?
2. Do we need to unzip the file to get the image file to install?
The other general question would be the 3 post-sGSI files (step 4). Do we always need to flash these files for every treble ROM we install on Axon 7? Say, if I want to install pixel experience 9.0 treble ROM, should I also flash these 3 files?

1. there's no need to install Gapps. You can as you want to but Play Store is working by default as mentioned in OP . Next build you'll be necessary to install Pico gapps.
2.No need to extract my rom. It's a regular twrp zip
As for the 3post files, do follow the OP's guide when mentioned using them...there's some contradiction though in use of them, even in using them all. For now, here it's necessary. Do try without, you'll see....
I'm running this as my daily. Only nfc missing. I don't get the same personal settings menu you have in pix. They are there but blank. Status bar, navbar, most of the others are blank. Buttons and power menu show up... Strange

OK. Most of the personalization is still in progress. On 0821 you should see the statusbar settings, navbar custom, battery custom, clock and full power custom menu.

BUGS and WAYAROUNDs:
24/11/2018
1. STABLE, can be used as daily driver.
2. Many core MIUI files missing causing random FC's and slowdowns, for instance, Mi Account FC's, so can't add Mi Account and other Miui related stuff. Almost all miui apps ded. :3 95% issues fixed.
3. Camera takes 5-10 secs to open. (GCAM ifdk, try and report) Fixed. (GCAM works too :3).
4. Can't install any app from system. (adb install doesn't work too, bcoz needs you to login to Mi account which is broken)Fixed.

5. Don't ever for what so ever the reason factory reset the phone, if you do, die. after flashing all patches, you can Factory Reset if you want.
6. Ignore "There is an internal problem with your device" PoP-UP after every boot, if I'm free, i'll make a kernel to fix the issue.
7. Screen Flickers quite often and specially if you enable Auto-Brightness, so pls for the sake of kek don't. (this can be fixed? do it)
8. VoLTE might or might not work.(Works for some)(Confirmed working if you are coming from a rom that had volte working)
9. Don't ever enable Dual 4G, we don't hab hardware support. and if you enable, rip.Reboot if you mess with this.
10. Don't ever enable Hotspot when WiFi is on and vica-versa. You will need to reboot for WiFi/Hotspot to work again.
11. FP enrollment shows failed, but it will have saved your FP.(goodix idk, tell me bout it) FP for fpc/goodix fixed. Flash patch 2.
12. More Stuff ig(Like Reading mode and stuff). I don't remember?

HOW TO INSTALL?

-Recommended TWRP- Redwolf 028
-Wipe Everything except Internal and SDCard

-Reboot and Complete setup.
Note: If stuck in bootloop, reboot to recovery, mount system and vendor and flash VendorPatch zip again.
When you go through the initial setup, on the MI account entry page, click "Forgot password" and "Skip".

i got the reason. i installed xiaomi.eu 12.0.2...and then failed. And i successfully installed with Flash xiaomi.eu (v12.1.1.0).
Magsik flash results in bootloop.

I made that mistake as well for some time, and I couldn't get any custom ROM to boot, no matter what I did. Until I realised how dumb I had been.
So you're not the only one who made that mistake. Took me longer to figure out, though.

For magisk, flash it, then reboot.
IF it stay on MI logo, reboot into recovery again and then flash your rom again, then reboot
you'll get magisk and it will boot

Perfect rom, only problem i have is that the fingerprint sensor is really slow
I found a bug perhaps.
After a time period (how ? ) , when i want kill apps in memory, i can't do, all apps have a black screen and actions aren't possible, you can see that on the screenshot. If i reboot, all back normal.
Edit : I have installed Magisk too with your informations, it's work.
But i can't pass ctsProfile.
I have use hide, and module MagiskProp but error. It's same for you ?

Yeah that's a known bug, I've to fix it yet
But if you move your finger slightly on the right, it will work perfectly
not for me. FP doesn't work. I use only pin.

Found 2 bugs
1. Home button sometimes stop responding, works again after system restart.
2. System profiles not changing Bluetooth state. tested on vehicle profile, trigger is set to on when profile selected.

Read all the steps correctly
BUGS:- bluetooth ear/headphones do not work workaround- ( go into phh treble settings misc features and enable force-disable a2dp offload (thanks to @Lil_Boudy for figuring it out!)
If bluetooth crashes your system disable media recommendations under Sound & Vibration > Media > Show media recommendations
mtp not working (mtp does work in twrp and in some custom kernels the one linked here does not fix mtp as it is not changing too many things compared to other custom kernels which brick some phones)
sim 1 incoming and outgoing does not work (you can revieve calls and call but you wonth hear anything nor will your mic go trying to fix) (workaround is to put your sim into slot 2) (i have heard that other people dont have this issue so i guess try your luck)
DO NOT let the phone die of battery you will not be able to boot and it will be hard to get back into the system (workaround- in magisk install acca https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/acc and install this apk after installing https://github.com/MatteCarra/AccA then set profile to default (this will shut down the phone at 5% hence removing the risk of your phone not booting after hitting 0%

1.Need TWRP 3.4.0 or higher!
2. Unpack the "xz" archive and put the .img file onto the sd card or internal (if you dont have a sd card do step 3 then transfer the img file to your phone)
3. In TWRP head to factory reset format type yes and hit enter
4. Flash the img file (as system obviously)
5 flash kernel (optional but you should flash for best performance!)
5.45 install magisk (the one linked above only) (optional but you should as a lot of modules are listed here are very important (ie the acc module and the fast charging module)
5.5.Reboot and enjoy!

by default a70 on pe charges really slow this enables fast charging for the a70 on pixel experience

Now install the module it will ask you to use volume keys follow the insturctions and choose 4500mah 27w once installed reboot! now enjoy faster charging (note: this will not affect battery/ will barely affect battery )

Step 1
- Uninstall ANY OTHER KERNEL MANAGER app including smartpack/Ktweaks to avoid conflict, since this app uses AI and machine learning to dynamically boost performance when needed

- Move to the bottom of the screen and select AI Chat, then type /advancedai (no space, no uppercase letters). This will going to make the AI more effective, without you having to do anything.
also type in /extraopt everything (do this once a week )

adaptive brightness wont work on a70
adb devices do you have usb debugging enabled? if it still does not work try another kernel
No matter what I do, the phone won't boot after flashing. I can flash multidisabler just fine with stock rom installed, but if I try to flash or wipe anything after installing PE it fails to mount system_root and when I try to boot TWRP says that I don't have system installed. Is there any fix for that?

No and it will never work unless on stock. I have worked on custom rom for this device for almost 2 years, deleted all my work because its pointless in my opinion. Most of the current bugs for the A70 will NOT be able to fix, sim 2 included. Camera is another. Its always a work in progress but unless you write the whole software yourself, some things on the A70 will never be fixed.
Mark my words, no sim 2 and full camera 32mp will never be fixed for the A70 accept for the stock rom unless Samsung releases the drivers and software.
Understand that I would rather custom over stock for sure and all these roms and kernals are of good work and that im not trying to deter or prevent anyone from using custom software.

Actually I don't have problem with camera coz trCamera app is an option. But for Sim2 Call i didn't find any fixes..
Zainulhak's Custom GSI rom for A12 working calls on sim2 but not in Sim1(as mentioned above).
So I am just hoping may be someday some developer will manage to fix or may be its fixed but we do not know the exact solution.
....LET'S HOPE FOR THE BEST...

Disclaimer: This GSI ROM is not mine. I just add optimizations and suggest other optimizations down below. I am putting this here since the A71 doesn't really have a lot of ROMs, and many GSIs don't boot on this device. What is this?
This ROM is based on a GSI with A71 specific optimizations. Also Google optimizes stuff better than Samsung anyway. This ROM is extremely stable and will boot if all guidances are followed.
And what is a GSI?'' A generic system image (GSI) is a system image with adjusted configurations for Android devices. It's considered a pure Android implementation with unmodified Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code that any Android device running Android 9 or higher can run successfully.
GSIs are used for running VTS and CTS-on-GSI tests. The system image of an Android device is replaced with a GSI then tested with the Vendor Test Suite (VTS) and the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) to ensure that the device implements vendor interfaces correctly with the latest version of Android.) ''
What are the bugs?
Fingerprint not working
SIM 2 might not be fully working
You tell me
Bluetooth - fix is by disabling a2dp offload in dev settings
Brightness - partial fix is by setting in phh settings samsung features then set backlight scale to 1
Offline charging - fix coming soon!
sim 1 incoming and outgoing does not work (you can revieve calls and call but you wonth hear anything nor will your mic go trying to fix) (workaround is to put your sim into slot 2)

ROM download - Use FDM for faster speeds.
Multidisabler, stock boot.img and TWRP - file given below
Installation Guide- Make sure your phone is already bootloader unlocked and you have a custom recovery installed, minimum.
- Go to your custom recovery and then wipe
- Flash the boot.img file given below (note: Flash only on A71 4G. I am not responsible if your device bricked because you flashed this img on A71 5G or other devices. EVEN IF IT IS SIMILAR, IT WON'T WORK!)
- Reboot to recovery (important)
- Your device might boot to a stock recovery as of now. Don't panic if it does. Power off then boot to download mode
- Select "reboot to download"
- Use Odin to flash twrp-3.6.2_11-3_afaneh92-a71.tar (AP slot) that is given below.
- When the device reboots, immediately boot into the custom recovery by pressing volume up + power button.
- Flash Multidisabler, file given below
- Flash Fix FIRST!!!
- Then flash ROM zip.
- Wipe again just to make sure
- Reboot
- For BT to work better: Disable A2DP offload from developer options.
GSI Optimization (can work for all A12 GSIs)
- PHH Treble Settings -
(device-specific settings)
Open Settings > Phh Treble Settings. Here you have multiple categories.
Head over to 'Samsung features' and enable:
- extended brightness range
- double tap to wake
- access to all cameras
- extra sensors
- Use alternate audio policy
- workaround for white-ish screen
- workaround for broken fingerprint
Get to 'Doze features' and check everything.
Get to 'Misc features' and enable:
- Force allow Always-on Display
- Allow setting brightness to the lowest
- Force enable Camera2API HAL3
- Force-disable A2DP offload
- Disable FUSE storage layer ( Play with it to see if performance is better or worse )
Get to 'IMS features' and enabe:

As Samsung has been making crappier and crappier vendors that introduce even more bugs plus increasingly locking down devices, I recommend downgrading to Android 11 Vendor to fix some of the prevalent bugs
Doesn't matter even if you have upgraded to android 13 and your bit/sw rev is 8, downgrade via Odin while you still can. I recommend flashing the Polish firmware, as Poland is the first to receive updates and polish firmware is generally more stable overall.
