Hi, guys my xiaomi mix2s and mi11 China rom can install google play store directly from Apkpure/Apkmirror and it works fine, but the problem is I can't update the google play store itself. hopefully someone here can help me out. thank you guys so much.
If you are located on China it's normal because Google and a lot of others strangers compagny (above all Amaerican) are banned.
You must using a VPN

hi, it also happened when i was in New Zealand, my phone was bought and brought to New Zealand. and I directly download Google play store apk from apkpure or apkmirror it works fine, but I can't update Google play store itself by clicking the update, it says already up to date but it isn't.

So you are not Chinese ? If not
Ask to unlock bootloader, wait 169 hours (1 week) and after that you will choose your rom, recommanded lastest 12.5 Global
After that just don't relock the bootloader.

haha, thanks, I'm living in New Zealand. Sorry didn't state it clearly, I meant if i can get it done with just like downloading an easy simple app or patch something like that. not going that far. atm I will have to download and install the newer google play store apk.

As far as i know, there are some kinds of firmware that contain Sony Entertainment Network services in their media apps
Such as Music Unlimited integrated in Walkman app and Video Unlimited in Movie app
The region includes Western Europe countries, Australia, and of course global version
I always choose global firmware to flash for my C6902 and root
But this time Sony seems to not put SEN services in the newest global 757 firmware cuz I don't see icons in Walkman app home menu...
Even though I've installed the Music Unlimited app from Google Play, these icons and options still don't appear...
How could I make Music Unlimited service available again in Walkman app? I really need it most
Should I dump the Walkman app from the older global firmware and replace it?
Is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sony.snei.np.android.account installed?

It's been installed, and upgraded to the latest version according to its instructions. But still no sign of MU services in my Walkman app...
Check out this thread:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-Ultra/Not-Music-Unlimited-integration-with-Walkman-in-Z-Ultra/td-p/437913?sl=y&sso_no_log=y
Basically, as stated in the forum post, the option won't be available if MU service isn't available in the region the phone was purchased from.

Thank you, I've figured it out myself. The flashable zip that I used to root my device was based on Singapore firmware, not the global firmware as it claimed.
i am looking to purchase mi 9 once it is released in china, but how long does it take for the MIUI 10 global rom available to download?
Think twice before buying a Chinese MI9.

This just means you have to have a unlocked bootloader, you cannot lock the bootloader once flashing Global on to Chinese & vice versa
Quote from the article you linked:- "If you have an unlocked bootloader, you can safely flash out-of-region MIUI versions using TWRP, fastboot, or the MiFlash tool."
You just can't relock on a out-of-region ROM anymore
I have the same question as OP. Really looking forward to this one. Looks like it's going to be a really affordable device for the specs it offers but I would like to know how long it usually takes for global roms to be published.
I might wait until there's a stable global rom available.
Well the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was released 11th November & the Global ROM was available on the 21st December I believe, based of that I'd say maybe a month give or take

if not installed the gobal rom, the mi 9 still has english language, so what is the big difference between china and global rom . its still usable while bring it back to U.S , right?

On the Global ROM there is less bloatware, & it includes Google Apps, if you have Chinese ROM you get no Google Apps, also the AI button will be Chinese AI & not Google Assistant.
There's probably a few other differences I'm missing too..

I'm pretty sure you can install all the Google stuff on the Chinese ROM yes, however I'd definitely look in to it first if I where you, also I'm not sure if the AI button can be remapped

I pre-ordered from Giztop.
They contacted me saying they have the Chinese version in stock and will install Google play on the phone before shipping out.
I'm in the US.
If I go this route, can I convert to the global edition using the global rom at some point?
I'll just have to keep the bootloader unlocked?

I m new to this,. So does it mean that once unlock the bootloader I can install global miui ROM?
Everything I have read says yes. Chances are though in the near future we will see some really good custom ROMS for the phone so you may end up not even wanting to go with the stock global ROM once its out. At least that is my thinking and what I plan to do down the road.

Malicious software, viruses, etc.

Some banking apps don't work with a unlocked bootloader, also if your device where to be lost or stolen it's easier for the person to access your data or wipe the phone completely to sell it
Hi guys !
Did anyone received the lastest Android update with package name CPH2091_11_C.01 with Android 11 ? It is said to have been officially released in Australia the 16th of December, but as far as I know, there's absolutely no information about someone who has got it anywhere. I'm taking a look like everyday for it on the web, still there's nothing...
If someone got the update, can manage to extract the downloaded package and upload it somewhere, it would be GREATLY appreciated !
Still no update for me too. I'm in The Netherlands so I guess I have to wait even longer.
I already asked Oppo France on Twitter about that, all they say is "It's currently being deployed in France" but that's clearly not true, and they won't say anything else... I would like them staying true to their communication, or at least giving information. The only thing sure is that nobody knows haha
If I can, when I'll got the update package I'll upload it somewhere for other users so they won't have to wait
Ok, so I checked the Oppo website, there was an update of ColorOS 7.2 available that my phone did not find, so I downloaded from the web and applied it in the recovery, just after rebootr checked updates and now ColorOS 11 is downloading, so you may try to search for an update on the website first.
@kremmit take me informed
Oh hey that's nice that you managed to get it. For me on OPPO site is the same version I have on the phone.

Damn I have no idea then
I guess here they haven't deployed it yet. Nothing to do but wait.
But thanks for the info pal
Got it here in Belgium. First the 7.2 update, then the 11 update few days after. Not really stratified with 11. I hope there will be a new update soon to correct some things. Btw, you can use a VPN to trick the system and try to get the update through another country.
I agree, I'm not fully happy with ColorOS 11, the worst thing being the Chat Bubbles replacing the Messenger ones (but permitting to use them with Messages, WhatsApp, Messenger...). They are really horrible. Messenger is losing all the functionalities that made it a really nice application, and there's no way to bring them back as it uses a new Google API instead of the one Facebook made for it years ago.

So which version is the update c.50??
Following the tip to be on VPN so i'm connected to Belgium for the full day and just got the 7.2 update.
Hope to get the 11 update soon.
The worst thing is (for me) the Bubbles, it's a thing Google forced the developpers to use, and to be honest it's ****ty af... It replaces the good old Messenger Chat Heads which were really perfect, now it is horrible (go take a look at the review of Messenger on the Play Store and Google it, you'll see what i mean). I really hope Google will permit Facebok to use their own API back instead of forcing us to use this.
Bought this phone recently with 7.2 a.44 already installed. No sign of color 11 yet even trying VPN around the world.

Had the same problem, try to see on the official Oppo website if there's any update. In my case there was one I downloaded and installed, just after that it found the Android 11 update.
They are taking their sweet time releasing it.
I'm still on 10 and same version on their site. Waiting...

Thanks, but every oppo website I've tried has a worse update than the one that's already installed on my phone from new, the a44 on mine has February security so can't be that old.
What update and number did you find?
It was that one for me :
https://assorted.downloads.oppo.com/firmware/CPH2089/CPH2089EU_11_OTA_0400_all_zce8BgCfYuJK.ozip
(Don't be afraid of the 2089 part, it did work ^^)
It's the A40, (I don't remember the version I was on before) but before installing it I did try a lot via VPN and other things to update to Android 11 without success, and after installing this manually it came up by itself

Tldr verison: new to xaiomi and need how to info on how to set up in a user friendly fashion. Living in the US
I recieved my 11 U monday night. It is the Chinese version.
I'm struggling to set up the phone, it came with google play store preinstalled, though downloads keep defaulting to the Mi app store which is in Chinese. When I swipe up it pulls up a search function also in Chinese. How do I set google playstore as my default play store and make google the default browser? How do I make the phone entirely in English?
I'm new to xiaomi and am looking to make it more user friendly, I have a Samsung note 8 currently and looking to make the interface similar.
I've read a bit about debloating on reddit but unsure what that means.
Any tips tricks or how to videos would be very appriciated
I live in the united states and have tmobile.
Thanks in advance
Edit: I tried searching the forum but only saw things on the EU rom and not sure how that works for the USA

What is the actual benefit of flashing EU ROM or getting global version
Considering a Mi11 Ultra buy, can someone tell me what the actual benefit is of flashing EU ROM? Is it a security thing, software compatibility, less bugs, etc? ie. Is it worth it or even useful to flash EU ROM these days?
