I had the surprise a couple of hours ago to receive the OTA upgrade to Android 11 + android security patch level from last Dec.
Firmware ref is: G820TM30b
Not too bad since LG abruptly jettisoned its whole mobile department about one year ago. We already had low expectations with LG concerning updates but I was contemplating dumping my still snappy G8 next month due to security concerns.
According to the list, G8 will receive Android 12 update.

Great news. I checked on my phone but it isn't showing yet, hopefully only a matter of a day or two.

It was a very nice surprise indeed, although I can't say my G8 has been snappy. I just recently got the OnePlus 8 Pro and it's a world of difference. It's all relative though I guess. But I will never get rid of the G8 because of it's usefulness as a music player. So any and all updates are welcome.

Hey do you have the 00028874 NV file, carrier_policy, and ca_combos directory from efs explorer for LG G8 T-Mobile?
I have had nothing but problems since this update! Any way I can roll back to the old version?

This months official security update is well past due and I think it's now two years since the Note 5 came out so I was wondering if Samsung have stopped the security updates for it?
I thought it was 2 years for O/S updates, i was under the impression that you still get security updates but no O/S updates after 2 years.

Have Samsung given any kind of indication on how long they will be providing security updates to the Note 5?
Still no sign of any security update this month, has never been this late before, so signs are not looking good.

Weird, I get updates in the last 10 days of every month regularly with no pauses in between. Wonder why updates are released much slower in other countries. The Nougat rollout started in UAE and/or Turkey, from what I remember.
Bad, but expected news.
From now on, the Note8 will receive safety updates every three months instead of the usual monthly update...
As per every Sammy phone, this event starts its last servicing year before reaching the programmed end of support.
I just use mine as a media player plugged into the tv(Dex). I moved on to another phone
Well, mine recived security update this morning, october 2020 security update!
Mine too.
This is the last on monthly schedule.
Next will come end of January.

I don't think this is "really" an issue for most of us. The monthly security updates really don't address vulnerabilities that the average person would face anyway. The security updates don't provide any performance functionality or enable any features. In some cases, the updates break things (like battery drains and GPS bugs), so less frequent updates may be a good thing for some of us.
My SM-N950F works like a brand-new unit after three years, so I really don't care about troublesome updates.
Getting quarterly updates just tells me that it's time to start looking forward.
Residual year of safety updates will end very fast.

After getting the OS update that resolved my N950N messaging issues. I went back to using my N950N, I have all the latest updates installed on it. It seems to be running very smoothly.
Hello everyone.
Anybody like me "stuck" on may update on the S21 Ultra Exynos?
I've read in June a couple of updates (or even three...) came out for this model here in Europe but mine is still with the sad message "no updates available"...
Always in time with previous ones (every 1st or 2nd day of the month or even earlier) but now it look like June is a bad month, just as crypto market... XD
Thx
I was in the same situation and I got tired of waiting and flashed the firmware with odin.
Does anyone know if the Sprint/T-mobile US variant has a June update available?
Currently I'm running version G998USQU3AUDD / G998UOYN3AUDD version, security patch level May 1, 2021.
In the past I had an issue where Sprint misconfigured my phone on their end, and my phone would not see any updates. They did something and that fixed it back in May, but I'm worried the same issue has returned and I'm no longer able to see updates when I do the manual check.
UPDATE: after a few weeks my phone detected the last update of June, skipping the 2 previous ones.
Guess it's a very smart phone, knowing it should avoid issues... XD
Still May here in Australia
We'll get it next month, like last time . I flashed using odin.
Still May update in Egypt.
Still on May update on three network in the UK
May in Serbia. Sams is even worse tan huawei in update policy. I must say i dont care much about security patches but this is their premium product and already almost a month behind.
T-mobile USA user here...
I'm not asking for general software updates, here. I know after Android 10 AND UI 2.5, we're pretty much done in terms of getting updates in that respect.
Will we be receiving any security updates still or is that it? If not, then I might just end up jumping ship and purchasing the S22 Ultra.

Note9 is still a decent phone, but if you're into latest software jump ship and get a better phone. S22 Ultra is pretty solid depending on what you want it for. Just wait for the whole launch.
@JOSHSKORN
What is the latest update you have received?
I received the update from November 2021 this morning on an unlocked N9.

Baseband version: N960USQS9FUG2
Security Patch Level: August 1, 2021
Just ran a check for updates, and I'm apparently up-to-date.
Regarding locked/unlocked...I'm guessing I'm "locked", as in I know there are two different meanings to it. I bought mine at the T-mobile Store, not form Samsung directly. My bootloader is NOT unlocked and I am NOT rooted.
I guess your phone is carrier locked? I was lucky, and won my N9 from a contest held by Samsung Mobile on Twitter.
Maybe T-Mobile has not released the December update yet? I hope you receive it soon.
"Quarterly" updates for security and not Monthly? Ouch. So what you're telling me is, I might get one more update for security but it's anyone's guess as to when it'll drop for me. Has there been any official word when security updates will stop?
@Arobase40 what I'm getting from your comment is, start looking for a new device. OS updates ended after 3 years (I knew that already) and security updates will end after 4 years, leaving my device potentially vulnerable to any new leaks found.
I'm also under the impression that device compatibility with apps may start becoming an issue, due to the lack of ability to upgrade past Android 10.
I guess I'm ok with it, my phone has been running slow the last few months, anyways. Well, normally it runs fine but in some situations, it'll lag. Mainly in Android Auto Wireless and using the Your Phone app on my PC.
It would be great to find a new device as big (or bigger) than the Note 9, with a stylus, whereas someone makes a battery as large as the ZeroLemon battery for the phone.
If you want new features that are not available on the Note9, buy a new phone. But please don't just buy a new phone only because of the security updates lol If you're happy with your Note9 keep it (like me). I don't care about security updates and the features it has are enough for me. Also if you want Android 11 and OneUI 3.1.1 features you may wanna have a look at Noble ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-11-2021-sm-n960f-fd-n-sm-g96xf-fd-n.4244747/
Overall, just don't change phone only because of security updates.
Hi guys!
I recently bought this device and I'm using it a lot. I leave a Galaxy Note 10 Lite, which I always had security updates, practically every month.
I noticed that since I bought it, this new device has been stagnant in the November/2022 update. This is normal? I'm using the version that is in the print. Is this the last update? Doesn't Oneplus send regular security updates?
Thanks!

Sometimes the updates are late. BTW the latest update is C.18. If you haven't received it yet then you can manually update using Oxygen Updater app from the playstore.
