Hi, my call ringtone changes from time to time randomly and I cannot find out why. This is driving me nuts and I can't find any logic or pattern to it. Android 12, any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,
since the new ROM upgrade for Sprint Diamonds I have an annoying problem: In Sounds & Notifications I set my Phone to "Ring and Vibrate" on incoming call. Each time I do a soft reset, it sets itself back just "Ring".
It's bugging the heck out of me, since if I forget to set it again, I don't know someone is calling when it's in my pocket.
I looked at the registry and only found ways to make ring, then vibrate or visa-versa. But I need to to vibrate the whole time it rings.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks!
I too have the exact same problem... Any ideas yet?
My ringtone goes from loud to soft then loud and back to soft again in maybe 1-2 seconds interval when there's an incoming call, which is kinda annoying. Anyone else has this problem? is there anyway to fix it? it's not set to increasing ringing and i know its not a sound file problem cos when i play it it's fine, it's just when set to ringtone this problem came up.
much appreciated if anyone knows how to fix this
Do you have Microsoft voice command installed? If so, disable the incoming call announcement. It doesn't work, they wont fix it but it tries to announce. It drops the ring tone volume when it's supposed to be announcing the caller.
Bingo, that fixed it, thanks a lot! but i've got another question then, if i do want voice command to announce the caller, do i disable my ringtone then? Or it doesn't actually work at all? I've read somewhere rather vaguely that it doesn't work on the X1 but on others like the samsung onmia it works, is that true?
(man i love this phone but heck these little things just keep on testing me)
I bounced my way around a few of the threads discussing it and couldn't get it to work on mine.
Tried different cabs etc. I did find the .wav file MSVC created in //volatile and I could play it manually and it had the callers name constructed correctly etc, MSVC just wouldn't play it. Create the file, drop the volume, wont play it
Hey folks any idea on this?
I've had my Diamond for just over 12 months until now ring tone has worked fine when i get an incoming call but now it's stopped working. I usually have it set to "vibrate then ring" but now it just vibrates, i've tried all the options including just plain and simple "ring" but to no avail. Interestingly when i preview it when i've made a change it plays the ring tone for incoming call fine so the speaker must be ok. I've also changed the ringtone played as well but has the same net result.
any thoughts welcome
Press the volume button on the side of the phone.
There are two tabs [Ring] and [System]
Make sure [Ring] is not set at silent
I had the same problem and that was the cause. Just did it for no reason and still does it periodically. At least I know what to do to fix it now

Hi guys!
I've been reading and searching this forum for a few days and I can't find anything that is related to the problem I'm having right now with my Galaxy Tab.
As of right now, whenever I receive any phone call on my Tab, it automatically switches to silent mode (crossed speaker icon on notification bar). It drives me crazy as I can't hear the ringtone whenever someone calls me, even though it's not on silent mode at the first place. The weird thing is it automatically switches back to normal mode when the call ended.
I've been missing too many calls because I can't hear it ringing. I already pressed the power button and made sure the phone is not on silent mode, and tried calling the Tab using my home phone, and it switches to silent mode when the call arrives.
Anyone have a solution to this? Please help. I'm on wits end here!
Download audio manager to see what all the different volume levels are set too. Might be something funny going on
I have installed audiomanager and checked that none of the volume levels are zero or set to silent. This is really frustrating.
Is there any way to soft reset the Tab without losing all the installed apps and data?
I have different problem related to silent mode.
When I am in silent mode, all the notification sounds are off but then when I play games, the sound is on. I have to go into setting to set "media voume" to zero manually if i want to play game wihtout sound.
This is kinda inconvient, I suppose silent mode mean silent everything.
It's kind of funny that on a number of the Droid ROM forums people are asking for this as a *feature* to avoid the annoying vibration that incoming messages and other notifications make when on a call.

I have the same problem. All the volume controls are high but ringer don't sound. any idea?
Be sure to check ALL the settings in ALL the settings and apps that pertain to anything that has sound.
This includes all the games, alarm clocks, video recorders, video players, music players, radios, etc. I had a similar problem, and this approach seemed to help.
Sent from my SHW-M180S using XDA App
Same problem exactly here
Galaxy tab GT-P1000 with firmware 2.2
Any ideas, please share
Just got a Nexus S a couple of days ago and so far I'm loving the pure vanilla. But I am having an odd problem with Tasker, which I used extensively on my previous Evos. When I set up the profile to rotate custom MP3 ringtones using Tasker, what I'm finding on the Nexus is that Tasker doesn't actually mute or replace the default ringer like it did on my other phones. So when I get a call, I hear two ringtones: the default, and Tasker's MP3. I fixed that issue by simply assigning "silent" as the phone's default ringtone. But something still isn't right, because if I choose to decline a call by using the slider button, Tasker doesn't cut off the MP3 ringer right away. I still hear the entire 25-30 second clip, even if I decline the call five seconds after the clip starts. I've thought about changing the trigger from "phone ringing" to the state "incoming call" to see if that makes a difference, but I rotate about 15 different ringtones, and setting up those profiles takes some time. Is there something funky about Tasker's integration with the Nexus that I haven't researched yet?
i'm facing the same problem, where u able to solve it?
