I got problem with unlocking my phone. it will restart once I unlock the phone and seems no answer to that.
So I'm thinking to totally reflash it. Is it possible to backup the data via fastboot or anything?
I can unlock the phone to get into the os to turn on usb debugging.
Please helps.
Thanks in advance.

I have a motorola atrix HD (MB886), It is rooted. Last night I tried to flash a rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244963). I forgot to make sure USB Debugging was on, and I failed to read ahead and did not unlock the bootloader. I tried to flash it using methods that had previously worked for me and now the only thing I can do is go through the AP Fastboot menu, the Android System Recovery menu, and the Boot menu. I had backed up my ROM before attempting to flash through safestrap and TWRP, I have the backup file but I cannot access the safestrap menu to restore the ROM I had backed up.
I have tried to unlock the bootloader and it does nothing. I cannot figure out how to get my device to be shown by my computer in ADB mode to remotely enable USB Debugging. My computer recognizes the device in fastboot mode, but I cannot find anything to enable the usb debugging to unlock the bootloader. Is there something I am missing here? I already contacted my Phone company and there is no way to get a replacement. Someone please help me! I'm just lost at this point.....

Officially verified. Link works and Forum solved my problem THANKS A LOT!!!
Hi Guys,
Would appreciate some help, though I realise I may be out of luck. My device is rooted with twrp installed, I thought i'd lock my bootloader so that the new killswitch / device reset protection would have some use.
Basically, it's now stuck in a boot loop. I get a flashing teamwin (twrp) logo when I try to turn it on, that's all. Here's the kicker, I can't unlock my bootloader again because I didn't have "allow OEM unlock" ticked in the developer settings.
Anyone have any ideas? I don't care if I lose my data, just panicking right now.
My Thanks!
Someone smarter than I can tell you how to use fast boot to unlock your boot loader.
TLDR: someone can help you that someone is not me. Worry not.

Its locked. Wont unlock because allow OEM unlock in android is unchecked. This setting is crazy
Thanks for the replies guys, anyone else got suggestions? Would motorola fix this if I sent to them? I assume they must have some development tools or qualcomm software that could do it.

I would assume they could.
The same thing happened to me and I thought for sure I was completely shafted. Turns out you can get back into your device by doing the following:
fastboot format users
fastboot format cache
I then rebooted the phone and voila, back into Andriod where I can click that unlock setting off and try installing the custom recovery yet again.
hello,
It's worst scenario I could imagine, My sisters Xperia Z1 dropped on street floor and crashed almost 70% of the screen,
touch is working on the remain area, she left the device for a while, and now she need some contacts, sms, pics from it, she forgot the pattern, and forgot the google mail associated !!.
I tried many ways described in many sites to remove the pattern without removing stored data, but the way ends at USB debugging OFF on the device,
please any one can lead my to how to unlock it ?
and in worst case if we can reset the device totally , how to do that? and can we use some app to recover data?
any help would be so appreciated.
thanks

If she has recovery, you should be able to start recovery and from there you can connect the phone to computer and have access to internal card. If there is no recovery and bootloader is unlocked, fastboot TWRP and do the same. If bootloader is locked, and there is a google account prompt, I doubt you'd be able to get to data. But google the options...
Hello,
I'm Afraid there is no recovery available ,
as I check about fastboot TWRP recovery, it needs first the device to be rooted and "Enabled USB debugging " ; means need the device to be opened and rooted and Enabled USB debugging !.
any idea please ?
unlock bootloader using fastboot mode via flashtool, then fastboot flash twrp.
then boot into recovery and attach your device to pc.
links that might help are below
twrp recovery
how to unlock bootloader
how to flash with adb fastboot
If you don't have anything particulary worth saving on it, then just flash a fresh rom with flashtool.

ok, get this one:
http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
it works like a charm. And it has firmware downloader built in.
after unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP, you want to delete the file password.key in /data/system/ using this:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
then it should be unlocked. good luck.

have you tried going into your stock recovery and just do a regular factory reset?
@jorge3687: First try a factory reset as suggested by Arju. If that doesn't work, sideload an OTA image to restore your device. The OTA images don't require an unlocked bootloader.
hello I got this phone from eBay FRP locked after removing it frp i found the phone not charging and the modem is turned off (there is no service and whenever I try to make a call the phone asks me to turn off airplane mode even tho it's not on)
- erasing and flashing the modem didn't help
- after founding out that removing frp for Motorola phones is the cause i treid :
Code:
fastboot oem config bootmode
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
and that was useless
however, going to fastboot mode and selecting BP tools mode seems to fix the problem the phone is now charging and I have signal and 3g data
do anyone know a way to fix this thing without going into bp tools every single time I restart the phone?
edit: nevermind I think I fixed the problem
fastboot oem bp-tools-on
