In order to make Whatsapp+ to work, you need to install original Whatsapp. Set it up and when it says device not supported, uninstall it and then install Whatsapp +. It should work fine then.

Hi, first thread and all that - so just a quick question:
Often when I click links (on websites) in Chrome to apps, it wants to take me to the Amazon app store when the link I clicked is supposed to go to the Google play store. Is there any way to change the DEFAULT app store so it always follows the link to Google play rather than Amazon apps?
I rooted my Fire btw (I think so any way - I followed a youtube tutorial to download a few files to install google play), sorry for lack of details rooting is new to me this is my first Android device.
Thanks for any help

I'm not sure which app controls that, but I have most amazon apps frozen with titanium backup pro, and now play store just opens
Sent from my KFFOWI using Tapatalk
Thanks. I'm not aware of the titanium backup pro, will it conflict with anything else or do anything that can't be reversed?

There is a couple of options
Free;requires PC/Mac/Linux and root Adb Shell Pm Hide as much bloat and amazon as you can by k3ll0gs
$5.99:App no pc needed, freeze withTitanium Backup PRO Key use app list in
5.0.1 Bloatware & other Safe to remove Apps
both methods have the same result, the app stops running, and can be restarted if needed
as long as you don't stop a system critical app
There are free apps that can freeze other apps. Are they not good in you opinion ?

I installed one of the app freezing apps from google store, but when I tried to freeze an app (the amazon app store) it said I need root access. So obviously I hadn't rooted it, just installed the google play store (never had an android device before so rooting and it's terminology is completely new to be sorry). I followed a tutorial on youtube (I think it was a rootjunky video) and thought I was rooting the device, but obviously I just installed the google app store.
I'm not a techno-virgin, but I think I need to do more research on rooting and see how easy it is to reverse etc, so thanks for your help, but for now I guess I just have to deal with getting defaulted to the amazon app store.

Basically there are two ways to root, right now
Modified Boot.img
Amazon Fire 5th Gen 2015 Root by Awesomeslayerg
Root Video With Launcher changing Instructions by Rootjunky
Custom Recovery Method
[Video]Install SuperSu using a Custom Recovery
Unrooting is can be done from the supersu app that is installed in the rooting process, but unrooting is different than returning to full stock.
To restore full stock see [HOWTO] How to restore firmware on your device + Amazon Firmware by Awesomeslayerg

It would be nice if it was that simple wouldn't it ytsejam! Unfortunately all that does it turn off being able to open ANY external store links, it doesn't then redirect them to the google play store. It would seem the ONLY option is to root your device.
Hi,
I'm rooted.
I try to install Google Now Launcher from Play Store but when i start the app says that i need to download a more recent "App Google" from Play Store.
But when i click for downloading Fire try to redirect me to Amazon App Store.

I am looking for the same information.
Previously, you just had to Rename /system/app/MarketIntentProxy.apk to something like MarketIntentProxy.bak and you would be able to have apps launch Google Play Store.
On 5.3.1, the apk is not in /system/app/ or may have been renamed?
Hi guys,
I just wanted to share black youtube mod flashable zip with extra features not availible in official Youtube.
Since there is no xposed for oreo and no adblock app completly removes the ads from youtube, this app completly blocks all the ads and lets you enjoy watching without ads...
For information dont update the youtube from play store it replaces the app with stock youtube.
To update youtube download the official vanced versions from apkmirror,i provide the links later.
There is also a light themed version.i'll provide a link later.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Completly unistall youtube app from phone if it is user app and if it is a system app unistall using sys app remover.
Reboot to recovery.
Flash it....enjoy
Features:
completely removes ads
background playback
supports picture in picture mode
removes native device screen resolution detection,so that you can able to watch 4k videos on a FHD device......wow...
and much more........flash it to check out
Note:
This is a shared work and nothing is done by me just did the flashing made simple by inserting the .apk file in the installer zip.

Hey, i have a S3 Mini I8200N, ur included .apk isnt working for me. It has 480dpi, i downloaded 240DPI latest version, and for some reason it is only flashing if im using the 2.6 Beta installer, the 2.8 installer cant even find the .mdar file (idk how it is called). Btw i am using TWRP.
Can you please tell me wich file i have to choose?
I selected the latest version, i also tried it out with older versions (3Hours+). I rooted my Device with KingRoot. I want to use root themed BLACK.
I choose this file ---> minAPI16 arm 240dpi Black MD5. Is api16 right? I am using 4.2.2 Vers. JB.
TWRP told me the flash was succesfully. The app isnt installed after reboot.
And yea i know this apk u included in the isntaller is for the oneplus, but yea it insnt working with the file for my S3 mini. (i dont really know wich file to chose) Maybe you can help me, and yea i know you are not the developer of this.

Not this version no but if you search google for the non root vanced youtube that one works fine , you just have to force stop/disable the normal youtube app on your device....
I need help in getting rid of those extremely annoying youtube ads before something plays... My device is rooted so im sure there's an easy way?
Lastly is there any way to enable youtube playback with screen off or in a different window? (there used to be a xposed module for this a long time ago...)
THANKS !!!
Check out the iYTBP thread. Should be in the General Android Apps&Games section.
It's basically YouTube with bg playback and inbuilt adblocking

Ah, you don't necessarily need the Magisk variant. I wouldn't recommend it, just clutters Magisk imho.
Go for the rootless variant, install the iYTBP-Youtube and MicroG-for-iYTBP (both can be found on the MediaFire links or AFH) and just launch&setup with your primary account you use YT usually with.
Don't worry about battery. I'm using that combo on my N8 (rooted w/ Magisk) aswell and it's no drainage.
download tutuapp apk.. then download youtube ++ and iYTBP from tutuapp store:good: It will also work on non rooted phone
I installed iYTBP manually & it works great. Really easy. Uninstall prev YT, create folder, copy iYTBP apk, set permissions & reboot.

Alright, good to hear it works again. Just beware that as soon as Magisk looses root randomly or it crashes accidentally, iYTBP will need a reboot to work whereas the non-root variant will work regardless of Magisk status (which makes it a tad more attractive, don't you think )
Yeah that makes sense, I've been having issues with magisk loosing root to often now... I'll give it a go...
Oh, how about blocking YouTube ads that appear from external pages? For example if i click on a video link from Facebook... It opens a browser version of YouTube and that has ads... Anyway to stop these?
I installed both modules from magisk but still get the video ads in YouTube... What am l doing wrong?
You have to uninstall stock YouTube updates, disable auto update in Play Store, flash the module, then open the regular YouTube, it'll show up as Vanced.
And don't use the dark theme.
Thanks, I don't know how to install stock updates... I Uninstalled from the play store and reinstalled with the auto update box unchecked... But how will I know for sure that Vanced is enabled? Will it say that anywhere in the app?
I've used older versions of youtube vanced in the past without issue, but lately I haven't been able to get the magisk and rooted versions working. Now instead - I disable stock youtube (or uninstall using Titanium Backup), uncheck stock Youtube's auto-update, reboot phone, install microg and then install the non-rooted vanced's apk. Then I'll see an app called "Youtube Vanced."

Ah gotchya. Personally, I've never tried that method you mentioned. I don't like any of my apps to auto-update because sometimes it messes with my themed apps until the developer updates the theme. Thanks for the tip though :good:
