Snapdragon s20 fe keeps freezing and rebooting itself - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

Hey there
My s20 fe keeps freezing and rebooting, it is not rooted one UI 4.0 feb security patch

yeah I've had a couple apps close for the first time ever on Feb (but as a base for a GSI). either wait for the March update or try to clear the cache of as many apps as you can. a factory reset or reflash is also an option.

Bootloop after October security update on rooted device.

Hello, I have some problems on my Mi A2. I rooted the device in August to enable Camera2API (getting stuck in the security update of the same month.). I installed Magisk and everything was going well. Then came a notification regarding the October update. I clicked to upgrade and by the time it was done, the device was working perfectly until the moment it completely discharged its battery. After that it gets into Bootloop on the Android One boot screen. I would like some suggestions for the solution. Thanks.

Recent apps lag in M31

Hello everyone
My 1 week old M31 is facing a nasty lag when switching to the recent apps.
I have a phone running very few basic apps and with all the bloatware uninstalled and unnecessary apps disabled.
It's running on the latest update as well with Reduced animations turned on.
Even after reducing all the animation scales to 0.5x the lag is very noticable.
Only restart seems to fix the lag however it still appears back after a day or two.
Can someone kindly help me fix this.
I have no issues. I would recommend to boot into recovery and wipe all cache. Next would be to flash the correct stock ROM with Odin and then not tweak settings for 1 week. Perhaps you can also specify your firmware details so others can check if they use the same.

I had this issue on the latest available firmware so after trying everything that i could in a week and with no results , i ordered a replacement.
Even with the new phone I have had this issue with the stock firmware that came with the phone (Build number QP1A.190711.020.M315FXXU1ATB7 running feb security patch ).
Its quite strange since i only have 4 basic extra apps installed on the phone and nothing else (All unnecessary bloatware is uninstalled or disabled).
This issue fixes as soon as i restart but it comes back in a day or two.
It seems you have the INS India version. Latest firmware is M315FXXU1ATD1. I would flash this with ODIN.
Build date Fri, 03 Apr 2020 11:45:41 +0000
PDA M315FXXU1ATD1 CSC M315FODM1ATD1
The same here.
My version: M315FXXS1ATF7 / M31FOWO1ATD4 / M315FDDS1ATF7 (security patch: june 1)
Any solve?

Thrashed my system partition but don't want to reset my userdata: What do?

Hi. I got an unknown CSC unlocked N960F/DS from ebay sometime back in late 2019. As soon as it arrived, I dumped lineage on it and was mostly happy with it for a while. Various features eventually went and broke(bluetooth most of the time, photo uploads in any apps basically) and yesterday I decided to upgrade my rom. I went and downloaded one of the lineage builds and sideloaded it through adb. That's where the story begins. My phone didn't make it past the brightness reloading part of the bootloader screen. I went through some other builds but that was obviously hosed so I grabbed the ONEUI2 STABLE rom and devbase rom from the exynos section here. I flashed devbase and while my phone worked, I had no cellular, my launcher was constantly crashing to the point where I couldn't use it, and bluetooth was also constantly crashing. I did the same with the ONEUI 2 STABLE rom only to be stuck at the SAMSUNG + blue/cyan LED screen after optimizing apps.
I don't really know where to go from here, but I guess I really don't want to trash my userdata. There's a lot of **** there that I can't really get back if I wipe it(avid user of signal).
Note for all you folks in back:
This wasn't actually a EFS related problem. I had a CP/BL vs. system mismatch and the firmware i was using simply didn't use the baseband. I flashed back to stock, BRI CSC and was perfectly fine. I'll probably restore my data partition from a backup in a few hours.
Obvious PSA that saved me a lot of time:
BACK UP YOUR EFS!!!!!!!

Fixing bootloop?

so my bramble spazzed and did a soft reboot and then the system ui wouldn't load (I was able to use the phone, but not the status bar, navbar). i disabled the lockscreen security and removed my magisk modules. then i tried flashing the stock firmware (december) *after erasing the -w*, then i tried sideloading the december ota via recovery, then i tried to do the same withe november versions and then again the december, you get the idea. nothing doing, the best i get is it'll get to "pixel is loading" for a split second then go to bootloader. anyone have any suggestions for me?
sorry, asking on the P5 forum because the phones are so similar the P5 forum is more active.

Thanks, yes I was. I ended up dirty flashing the stock firmware from December and from November and sideloading otas from both months over and over till it was working again. Took all day but I saved my data. I was flashing the all carrier December image as they was the one I was on, not flashing verizon one did the trick. Something to keep in mind for next time.

November Update#2

I installed the November Update in 5th and few seconds ago a new update showed up with 1.82GB.
Did anyone has the same, I am a little bit nervous to install.
I had this same issue with my wife's p4a 5g. in the process of updating mine to the Nov security update (finally got around to opting out of the beta so I could update it) and then I'll see if mine does the same thing.
UPDATE: Finally got the security update installed and my 4a 5g also has the upgrade notification. After doing some digging around, it seems that Google accidentally pushed the VZW specific update to all Pixels (the update in question is this one: 12.0.0 (SP1A.211105.002.A1, Nov 2021, Verizon, Verizon MVNOs)). I will most likely ignore this update if that's the case. (took almost an hour to optimize apps for the security update, not looking forward to doing that again right now lol).
same here..lets see if the build number will be sam

Same here.
Just 2 days ago i did a clean install of nov 5 image SP1A.211105.003
I received the update the same day pixel 6 was launched, today received another update to install 12.i paused it until be sure whats going on
Mine installed ...
Previously : SP1A.211105.003
After : SP1A.211105.002.A1
According to their release details
Pixel 4a 5G: Android 12 – SP1A.211105.003, SP1A.211105.002.A1 (Verizon, Verizon MVNO), SP1A.211105.004 (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone AU) – Factory image – OTA (2) (3)
Same thing is happening on the Pixel 5 and 6. I'm currently on the ,003 firmware on my Pixel 5, even did a clean factory install. Still getting an update notification. It would be nice if Android would define the version of the update...
If you are rooted, DO NOT take the automatic update. If you do, you will have to wipe to re root.

But is working fine with the Verizon firmware?
Good day; would a factory reset be a solution to revert back to the global version ? Thanks !

No.
Use the Android Flash Tool to install the global version. Data wipe/factory reset should not be necessary.
Update no longer available for me. Seems like Google realized their mistake.
