Ive been using my phone mounted on a tripod for Zoom meetings . More often than not when the speaker steps behind the podium, the Video starts zooming in and out repeatedly. Its almost unusable. There is a gooseneck mic holder and microphone that im thinking might be part of the issue in that the camera is trying to focus on it and not the speaker behind it. Putting the camera on the side is not really an option
Just curious if anyone has seen this issue with the S20 FE or if any of the 3rd party camera apps/mods might help.

Dear fellow forum users/Z1 owners,
I'm a new user of a Sony Xperia Z1. I've been using my phone for about a week now to take photos, and I've noticed that there is a problem with the camera display. When I move my phone to take a photo of another subject, the display actually lags behind and sometimes freezes for a second before finally catching up with my movements. Do any of you face similar issues?
Another question I'd like to ask, would be the vibration/movement of the lens as it refocuses, especially on macro shots. It makes this small "tick" sound and vibrates while attempting to focus, something which I've not experienced on other cameras. Is this natural or is it a hardware issue that I should get Sony to check?
Thanks for taking your time to read this post, and I look forward to hearing your responses.
Cheers,
Sonynoob
I must say - never heard for that problems.
I don't have that issues, my camera is working great, no vibrations, no lag - full HD recording or shooting picts - all works great.

Just tested the camera in a quiet environment and I must say, it seems to produce the 'tick' sound before every shot...it only gets worse in macro situations.
Same goes for me. I think it is a normal thing while camera struggles to focus.

Had this lag too the other night trying to shoot outdoor. I don't know if it was because too much stuff running in background or if it's the camera, only happened once.
I'm having an issue where the camera won't focus. I have to literally tap the side hard and the phone will focus again. Does this sound like a ois problem?
Does it focus if you move away from the object you are trying to focus on? If so it's just a software issue with the nexus 6. It happens on my device and I have heard about it occurring on many others as well.
It's an OIS problem. You can get a warranty replacement for that. I had issues with the Note4 which also has an OIS. Moving parts can fail more that more non-moving parts.
Hi guys,
I have been facing this problem (i think) and i would like to know if its normal.
Autofocus works
Focusing is good and fast.
But when ever i touch to focus on something it makes a tiny rattling sound like (TICK) and then focuses on the object.
Its like the sound of a watch doing 1 second tick... Except its a bit louder.
Normally this happens in phones with OIS but PLAY doesnt have OIS...
Also if i tap the camera on the backside (slight tapping), it makes this noise which is easily audible. The same tick sound can be heard if i tap anywhere on the back panel of the phone.
Is this normal or should i take it to SVC?
P.S No noise when camera focuses on its own, the tick sound is only heard when i focus on any object and change from back cam to front cam.
I have the exact same issue
Hi
I've found myself in the exact same situation as this one. The camera in the honor play makes a "tick" noise as in a louder clock's ticking sound every time I manually refocus the camera. There's also the added noise of the above said sound when I tap on the back of the phone. If anyone has any update on this please share so I'd be at peace right now. Thanks.
Hello, I just had my S10+ and I love it. The only thing I notice is a click sound made by the camera module lens when changing from mode to another one in the camera apps. Like the lens adapte, and make kind of a 'click' sound. Is it a normal thing for everyone ? Or may it be broken or anything ?
Thanks so much, and hoping I was clear.
So you're not the first one to bring this up. I'm guessing this is your first Samsung phone with a variable aperture lens? I have this on my Note 9 and I guess I've been around louder environments because I never noticed the sound. I just testing this out on my N9 and I can barely hear the sound but it's there when I switched from video mode to picture mode. All the video and photos I've been shooting on my Note 9 for past 5 months have never been negatively affected by this mechanism. So far, everything seems to be in working order. I suspect it will be the same with the new S10 line.
I hope that gives you some better perspective on this feature.
It's been two days since I started using this phone.
Today, I can hear an excessive sound coming either from the camera lens or the front speaker. {Noise heard better from front side of the phone}
This happens when you try to shake or flip the phone even gently. I know usually the camera lens on every phone makes a little noise.
But this is extreme. It's almost like there's a tiny piece of hardware broken inside and it's moving even if you shake the phone gently. I either did not observe this issue or it wasn't there for the first two days.
Can anyone confirm if it's the same?

Yes, even in mine there is a kind of muffled noise
Hi guys.
It's from the cameras. If you try this with the camera app open you will see that the noise stops.
Optical Image Stabilisation most likely. Camera lens can move to handle shake.
I don't hear anything noticeable from mine. Just a VERY slight muffled noise if I shake it while holding the lenses right up to my ear, but nothing I would notice if I wasn't specifically trying to find a noise.
